At the time, we had already received two quotes for a full master bathroom renovation. The first quote came from a reputable firm, and while their service seemed solid, their vision for the project didn't align with ours. They were focused on chrome fixtures and vinyl materials, whereas my wife and I wanted a more upscale design featuring brass finishes and marble. The second quote was much cheaper, but it was clear that corners would be cut and problems would likely arise. We weren't interested in dealing with those kinds of headaches. We decided to give G&M a call and at least have a conversation. I spoke with Joe, the owner, who came across as knowledgeable, professional, and straightforward. He arranged for Jonah, the project manager, to meet with us, and we were immediately impressed by his positive attitude and "can-do" approach. From the start, it felt like he and his company were the right fit for our project. We were able to agree on a very competitive price, and the design plan the team developed exceeded our expectations. Throughout the renovation, the crew--Danny, Philipe, Edan, and the rest of the team--were punctual, hardworking, respectful, and genuinely pleasant to have in our home. Jonah was outstanding from start to finish. He solved problems, answered every question, and consistently went the extra mile to make sure everything was done right. Now that the project is complete, we absolutely love our new bathroom. Looking back, we know we would not be nearly as happy or satisfied had we chosen either of the other contractors. We interviewed three different contractors, and Joe was the only one who took the time to truly understand our vision. He met with us not once, but twice, to go over our goals in detail, including our budget. And never once pressured us to go beyond it! As first-timer tackling a major renovation, his honest advice (including what he would do if he were in our shoes) was incredibly valuable and reassuring. This was a massive project: remodeling three bathrooms, replacing sewer pipes under both the front and back of the house, mold remediation, asbestos removal, modernizing the exterior, painting inside and out, updating trim, swapping chandeliers and canned lighting, replacing interior doors, and installing a new front door and garage door. Joe truly has teams for everything, that is skilled professionals he's worked with for 10+ years and it shows in the quality and coordination of the work. His crew was consistently kind, respectful, and punctual. Every morning they showed up on time and treated our home with care. With a small child in the house, safety was a huge concern for us, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was secure and safe for her at all times. Joe also made sure no corners were cut. He handled permits thoroughly and professionally, and when we ran into a particularly difficult inspector, Joe personally came to the house to ensure everything was up to code so we wouldn't face further delays. That level of ownership and commitment is rare. We constantly get compliments from friends and neighbors about how our 1960s home looks completely transformed, in the best way. We liked our house when we bought it, but now we absolutely LOVE it, and that's all because of Joe and his team. Joe is just a genuinely warm, lovely person who truly goes above and beyond. Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. It was a complex job but we always felt confident Luis and his dad would do a good job based on their prior experience working for a larger foundation repair company. Luis was very easy to work with from coordinating plans/permits, keeping to schedule, and scope changes along the way (LADBS was a PITA). Luis kept in touch every step of the way, and his pricing was the best out of 5+ bids we got. He was always looking out for our bottom line and worked very efficiently. Normally the type of foundation replacement we did requires multiple inspector visits but Luis knew the process well and only required one inspection after the work was done, saving us a lot of money. Change orders were handled professionally and very fair to both sides. Everything turned out great (I'm writing this review a year later after the work was completed). I highly recommend Angel Construction and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. I do not recommend this business. They will do anything to earn your business but they cannot…read moredeliver. I was promised my project would be completed in 8 weeks, it took more than 5 months before I finally cut my losses with this company. I'm now searching for another contractor to fix the poor workmanship of this company. They installed a clear glass window in my bathroom and when I asked why they did that they asked why I waited a month to question it. They remodeled my master bathroom and the water is leaking into the wall. Every time I brought an issue to their attention they gave me a hard time about it and repeatedly told me they were already over budget with the project. They do not complete the work themselves they hire subcontractors to do the work for them. This is fine if they were honest about it in the beginning. The only time I saw the project manager after the work started was when he came to collect a payment. That was also the only time he gave me an update on the project. I tried to deal with someone different in the company and he was not any better. This company is poorly ran and they do not operate as they say they advertise on their website. The contractor was deceitful by changing out the toilet to pass the city inspection, then installed the actual toilets I purchased. He did not know the city required dual flush toilets. I wasted a lot of money with this contractor. Be careful!

We hired Sagi and New Dawn Construction for two fully-permitted projects: a complete kitchen remodel upstairs (stripping to studs and floorboards and demolishing a wall) and a laundry-room-to-kitchenette conversion downstairs. Before hiring Sagi, our main concern had been that a contractor might use surprise change orders to increase costs and add to the work. But Sagi was wholly trustworthy, and stayed true to his contract. In fact, we found Sagi so reliable and client-focused that the change orders we did have were almost all generated by us, as we were so pleased with his team that we added more work to the project. Sagi is the ideal contractor: he knows construction well, has a keen eye for detail, and is not afraid to pitch in himself whenever needed. Sagi's team also included an amazing designer, Nofar, who expertly captured and improved on our vision. Sagi implemented the design with precision. His team, especially our project manager River, projected calmness and confidence throughout the unpredictable and sometimes frustrating construction process. Our new open-plan kitchen with peninsula is bright, spacious, thoughtfully-designed, and perfect in every respect. We spend all our time in the new space and marvel every day how lucky we are. I contracted with New Dawn Remodeling to tear down a failing cinderblock wall and replace with a new combination cinderblock/wood fence. They were outstanding to deal with over a rather long negotiation period due to interactions with my neighbor on the other side of the wall. After agreement was reached the completed the job on time and on contract price. The project manager was outstanding and the workers were experienced and courteous. They even bent over backwards to. meet the sometime difficult demands of my neighbor. Because of the slopes of the property constructing the wall to insure proper water runoff that would not undermine the wall was important and New Dawn efficiently dealt with complicated issue. We just completed a wall to wall bathroom remodel. We are not construction oriented and relied on Sage to manage all of our selections and the purchase of all of the items needed. He guided us through the design and purchasing of all the items needed. He took the input from what I had in mind and included each item in the plan. The crew showed up on time each day and the only gaps were a few days waiting for some customized items to be built. The crew was what you hope for. They protected the environment, cleaned up after themselves and disposed of construction trash. They were extremely courteous and consulted with us when there were questions about what we wanted. To start with, New Dawn Construction was referred to me by another company who said they were the best, which tells you something about their reputation in the industry. From my first contact with them to the completion of the work the project manager, Ken Jakov, has been first rate -- answering questions quickly, being clear about what will happen and when, what various things I wanted would cost, etc. All of the subcontractors were also the best I've ever worked with - they were kind, courteous, and helpful beyond the scope of the contracted work. From the moment I first sat down with Eyal Weizman of MDRN Construction, I knew he would be my…read morechosen contractor for my kitchen remodel. We seemed to speak the same aesthetic language and he quickly and enthusiastically whipped up a rendering of what my kitchen might look like. He was also very sensitive to and willing to do great work within my budgetary constraints. I immediately knew I would be in good hands. My kitchen remodel was for a very narrow space that had had a double electric oven and a big fancy gas range. The old cabinets, which were solid wood, had likely been there since the house was built in the 50s. An unfortunate water leak did major damage to the wood floor and seeped into the 2 layers of asbestos-laden linoleum underneath. Due to the need for asbestos remediation as required by my insurance (and the law), I was literally forced to see my entire kitchen torn out to the studs -- cabinets, appliances, floors and all. Enter MDRN Construction - after unsatisfactory experiences with the contractors my insurance had set me up with, I finally realized I must choose my own. In short, MDRN came in on-time and on-budget. Any out-of-line costs beyond the original estimate were due to major upgrades or amenities that I asked for on my own, with absolutely no arm-twisting from the contractor or his crew. For example, we were needing to upgrade the electrical in order to accommodate new all-electric and induction appliances, as well as replace the floor complete with framing and subflooring. I therefore also opted for raising the floor in the (sunken) kitchen annex to have it all be on the same level and to move the new commodious refrigerator in there. This upgrade also involved raising the exit door to the side yard and creating new concrete steps to the outside. Even with this extra work, MDRN still came in on time, though at the outer rather than the inner range of their estimated time frame (three months instead of two). I also have nothing but high marks to give the various crews that did the work, from demolition to electrical to cabinetry, to plumbing, dry wall construction, painting, and tile flooring. Everyone that came to my house, as Eyal promised, was a pleasure to be around and highly professional -- efficient and meticulous. The Ukrainian-born cabinet installation crew (in-house to MDRN), especially, were master carpenters and the finished product with solid wood exteriors is a showpiece. And absolutely everyone graciously pitched in when something extra was required, like hoisting my giant new refrigerator through the only possible square opening in the kitchen wall when the delivery guys couldn't possibly handle it themselves. Eyal came by frequently to check whether everything was going smoothly and what was still needed. And the most consistent presence was his assistant construction manager, Bardia, for whom no task or issue was too large or too small. He handled everything in a timely manner with ease and aplomb. If you're looking for excellent work, excellent client relations, honesty and efficiency, and a great aesthetic partner to work with, then MDRN is a terrific choice. The only advice I would give anyone who plans to live in their home while any pretty major construction is going on, is to stay on top of the daily dust-prevention and cleanup. As great as the workmen are, this is not always their topmost priority. The photos are of the "to the studs" space in the transition phase and my wonderful new kitchen.

We had a 4 week timeline and made it just a few days behind schedule which is pretty good for a construction project! Eyal spent time with us designing the project, sent us what we needed to choose from and showed us some really great tile and hardware options. All of the workers who came by were extremely nice and respectful and worked very hard to deliver our bathroom. With only a few minor hiccups which are totally expected on a remodel such as this one, we are super happy with the result and look forward to working on the next one with MDRN!

After the Eaton Fire, heavy winds and rain had blown away and damaged shingles on our roof. Water began leaking into one of our bedrooms and left water spots on the dining room ceiling. What could have been a nightmare repair project turned into a smooth and reassuring process thanks to the team at FHS Construction. From the start, the crew was thorough in their inspection and diagnosis. They quickly identified the source of the leak and checked for hidden damage in the roof and ceilings. To prevent more water from coming in, they put up a temporary cover right away until the full repair could begin. The roof repair itself was handled professionally from top to bottom. Damaged shingles and underlayment were removed and replaced, everything was thoroughly inspected and sealed tightly to prevent future problems. Inside the bedroom, they removed water-damaged drywall and insulation, treated and cleaned areas affected by moisture and mold, and ensured the space was completely dried out before restoring it. When the remediation was complete, they patched everything up with new drywall, fresh paint, trim work and new carpet so the room looked as good as new. The same attention was given to the dining area ceiling where water spots had formed. The crew was consistently punctual--showing up on time every morning--and respectful of our home. They cleaned up after themselves daily, and even arranged for a professional cleaner to come through once the project was finished, which was a thoughtful touch. A special shoutout goes to Javier, the project manager. He kept us informed at every stage, explained what was happening, and always had answers for our questions. He also went above and beyond by helping us communicate with our insurance provider, State Farm. His guidance made a big difference in getting a fair payout to cover the damages. On top of that, he made a kind personal gesture by surprising my wife with a birthday card and a bouquet of flowers during the project -- a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot. The work wrapped up in about two weeks, just in time for us to host a big family gathering. When we discovered the ceiling fan lights in the bedroom weren't working, we called Javier. He immediately sent someone out the next day to resolve it. That kind of quick follow-up shows their commitment doesn't stop the moment the job is declared finished. We are seriously happy with the results. The roof is secure, the bedroom looks brand new, and the whole experience was far less stressful than we expected given the circumstances. FHS Construction delivered quality work, clear communication, and outstanding professionalism from start to finish. If you're looking for a construction company that does solid, thorough work while treating your home with respect, FHS Construction is the team to call. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of trustworthy and skilled contractors.

Vlad, our project manager, and Guy, the company owner, gave us detailed SOWs (Statement of Works) from the onset that they stayed true to. They were consistently forthcoming about which costs would be out of pocket and what's covered in the SOW. They kept us within our budget and worked with us whenever any issue arose. For example, our HoA was particularly troublesome at points in this process, but Vlad and Guy handled the situation with such care and, again I cannot emphasize this enough, transparency. Something that was invaluable to us and saved us incredible headache. We originally started the process with only a kitchen remodel, and then after seeing how detailed and forthcoming they were about pricing and schedule, we added a bathroom remodel as well and chose to re-floor the entire unit.
