It was quite a workout and a little more than I could handle, but I'm glad I tried it. My instructor was really good and nice, but wasn't as hands on as I would've liked and she spent most of the time in one corner of the room instead of in the front showing us how to do the poses. I would've preferred if she did the flow with us or at least walked around to correct. Parking was a big tough - there's a parking lot that's free but it's shared with the plaza and there just doesn't seem to be enough spaces. They also don't seem to have enough restrooms - there was a long line for the restroom when I went. There was a student observing the class, which I didn't particularly love. It takes away from the experience when it feels like someone is watching/potentially judging me.

That feeling continues throughout the class -- people were friendly, open, and kind, introducing themselves before class and checking in afterward to see how it was. It felt less like dropping into a random class and more like being welcomed into an existing, caring community. The studio is well organized, with clear guidance on where to go, open shelving inside the room for belongings, and padded flooring that adds noticeable comfort and support during practice. The class begins with a collective Om and settling breathwork, then moves into a steady, rhythmic flow. This is an intermediate-level class with light heat that builds energy and then gently slows down with stretching at the end. (Sidenote: no balancing or long holds - mostly all flow.) The class closes with a chant (with the option to join or simply listen), ending together with "Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti." The Indian-inspired music adds to the grounded, cohesive feeling of the space. Practical notes: The bathroom is just outside the studio and is easy to access and very clean. There are no showers, but the gentle heat makes them unnecessary. Free, tandem parking lot behind the studio. A thoughtfully guided class with a sense of friendliness and community. She'd show us the poses and then she'd walk around to adjust our forms as needed. I like that she gave us different options and modifications depending on everyone's comfort and skill level. The studio felt clean and spacious with artsy décor all around. They have blocks, blankets and straps for you to borrow. You can also rent a mat for $2, though most people brought their own. Overall, I enjoyed the class and it was a challenging and rewarding practice. My only wish is that they would not overpack the classes. I thought 20 people fit comfortably, but then 10 more people walked in and I felt that there was not enough space for everyone to transition between poses safely. We were so close to each other that we would accidentally kick or hit one another.

I'm a member at another YogaSix location that I truly enjoy, and I signed up temporarily at this location while I was in the area for work so I could stay consistent with my practice. My first class was Restore. The audio kept glitching, the music cut in and out and the instructor repeatedly had to adjust her phone that was plugged into the wall. The heat also didn't seem to be working properly. The system sounded like it was trying to turn on, made concerning noises, then shut off after about 30-45 seconds. It was very distracting and made it difficult to relax or fully settle into the class. Still, I didn't want to judge based on one visit, so I booked another class. The second class was Slow Flow. The instructor was very sweet, but the class felt a bit unstructured and out of sync, with students encouraged to move freely rather than follow a cohesive flow. There were again audio issues with the headset and music cutting in and out, and the heat still wasn't working; the heater had the same start-stop problem as before. I finished the class but left feeling underwhelmed. I also had another class scheduled that same week which I canceled in the app within the allowed cancellation window due to unexpected work obligations. However, the studio later stated that it showed as a late cancel/no-show on their end and I was charged a fee. I'm not sure whether there was an app or system glitch, but it was frustrating since I followed the cancellation process correctly. I had one more class booked and hoped the earlier experiences were just bad luck. Unfortunately, at 3 a.m. the morning of that class, a fire broke out in my apartment building and I had to cancel last minute. I texted the studio to explain the emergency. While they were polite and sounded understanding, I was still charged the no-show fee. Between the repeated equipment issues, inconsistent class experience, cancellation discrepancies, and emergency no-show charge, along with the location being somewhat difficult to access; this studio did not meet expectations. With so many great yoga studios in LA, I wouldn't personally recommend this location.

I've taken classes with almost all the instructors and I have nothing but incredible things to say about the environment that Sunstone has fostered. I've noticed a tendency for yoga studios in LA to be centered around the concept of fitness and looks, rather than actual practice and wellbeing. Sunstone does an incredible job of reinforcing growth and inner wellbeing over anything else. And I truly commend them for that.

I really loved going here but my recent experience with their Saturday sculpt class was not fun…read more It did not seem like they limited the class size, and it was SO full that our mats were touching the neighbor to the left and right. There was no space whatsoever, it was cramped and gross. I had my water bottle ON MY MAT, and the person in front of me was so close to me they kicked it over like 3 times throughout their class. The person to my left was flinging sweat on me everytime he transitioned moved. Because the class was so full they ran out of weights too, so I was left with an 8 pound weight and a 2 pound weight.... The person on my right kept heavy breathing and I felt every breath on me as he was that close. At one point he coughed and I felt that too. They either don't limit the number of class spots or they set that number super high. It was genuinely disgusting and I wanted to leave early but I didn't want to climb across people to get out... I also forgot my mat and they charged me $10 for a rental!! Which is a A LOT!! It used to be $3 a few months ago, tell me why it's now $10?!!! That's so expensive for just a rental?
