Lovely older couple runs this place, was hoping the food would be better. Service was good, but the food left a lot to be desired.

I'd heard good things about this place so I gave it a chance. We ended up trying out like 10-12 things on the menu as we were with a group. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. I'm not a spiced guy so they brought out the food without a ton of spice, but had the same hot sauce they have to make it spicy for the two people at the table. Won tons were friggin delicious and the shrimp was to die for. My wife enjoyed the potstickers so much she ended up taking two orders home. I personally got the sweet and sour chicken. It was like most you'd eat but I really enjoyed it. The noodles, I was so full I couldn't eat more but I kept eating and eating and eating these noodles. Emptied the plate. Want more. Friendly safe service. I thought the food was pretty bland- besides the potstickers which had really nice flavor, especially with the sauce! The lemon chicken sauce was pretty good too but the breading and sauce didn't stay on the chicken very well. Beef with broccoli didn't taste like much and neither did the pork lo mein.... But my kids LOVED everything! I've never seen them eat that much in one sitting. They kept coming back for more! read more

this is the best if you want veggies cooked just right - not raw and not over cooked - and I don't like all the breading on fried food most places have - for us this is the best - oh yes they don't use celery .... we like the New Dragon..... we're feeling sorry someone put their car through the front door. I love this little ma and pa Chinese stop and have been going here since I was a little girl. The food is always so delicious and the service is fast! Some of my top favs are the sweet and sour pork (if ordering carry out ask for the sauce on the side!), kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, sesame beef... really the list goes on! The 2 stars is for the food being fresh but from the time we were seated til the end of our meal we were rushed. The "crab & cream cheese" wontons came with just cream cheese and when we asked about it we got a quick answer no crab just cream cheese. The food came out nice and hot but very bland. Ham fried rice was, for lack of better word, gross. The soup was edible. The egg roll was the only thing I liked and the fast service. We didn't even finish our dishes and only ate one of the wontons. Save your time and money and go to Red Bistro in South Jordan instead. read more

We love ordering for delivery and the food is always well packaged and hot when it arrives! Their beef and broccoli is hands down the best I've found. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken recently and the chicken and it was already coated with the sauce when it arrived- giving the chicken more of a soggy texture. Be sure to request the sweet and sour sauce on the side if you prefer it that way. It did seem like it had a lot of ginger in the sauce- it's my first time ordering the sweet and sour so I'm not sure if that's how it normally tastes but it was a little overpowering. read more

Lunch for two. There are no combos that come with soup, which is disappointing, so we ordered a bowl of hot and sour for $4.50. Glad we did, as it was quite good. There was enough for five people. I ordered Beef with Peppers and Tomato, which came with ham fried rice and an egg roll for $5.99. Enough food for two, easily. My sister got the Chicken with Garlic Sauce, which came with steamed rice, for $7.95. Oddly, the amount of food was about the same on both, despite the price difference. Both dishes featured plenty of fresh meat and veggies. The taste was good, but lacked much depth. Overall, though, for the price you get a ton of food that ain't bad at all. I've only had dim sum here . We like to come here due to the plentiful seating and big round tables available for larger groups. We mostly come on Sunday's and they are busy from morning to afternoon. For those that do not know, dim sum is a Chinese version of small plates. They are served in a small, round, metal steamer type of bowl. There are many types of food offered from chicken feet to small pork ribs and tripe. Another small plate that is offered is Chinese broccoli and the salt baked shrimp and salt baked squid. This is really ethnic food that you will love if you enjoy Chinese dishes. Staff is very friendly and kind. Today my only complaint is I had to request the chili oil 3 times. We mix the chili oil with soy sauce to dip with all the dim sum dishes, it's delicious and the only way to eat it! read more

This place looks pretty new, restaurant is clean and decorated ok. The food is pretty good for the price. We ordered a combo type meal with rice chicken and egg roll for about 7 bucks. The only real complaint for me is the service. Started out ok, took our order quick and food came out pretty fast. The guy delivering the food was rude, slamming food on the table as he rushed by, not saying anything or refilling our waters until we finally asked for it. The Restaurant is nicely decorated very clean and the staff is very quick on request with a smile. I ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan with Ham Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup. The Egg Drop soup reminded me of Chicken Noodle Soup with some eggs in it. Would not order again. However, the Moo Goo Gai Pan was on point! Perfect portions veggies cut in small enough pieces lots of Ham in the Fried Rice. One thing that stood out is the portions of meat in every meal. Well done.. Over I would give this place 3 stars but then again I'm from San Diego California and our asian food is just on a higher playing field. Not very good at all. The soup that they give you with the combination dinner is some weird Chinese version of chicken noodle? Then the "beef" wontons had almost no meat in them at all. It was like eating fried dough twisted in a pretty shape. My boyfriend got the sweet and sour and specifically asked for the sauce on the side, which didn't happen. The chicken started getting soggy. He couldn't even eat the egg roll it was so gross. I got the chicken low mein, which had almost no flavor. I had to put soy sauce and salt and pepper on it to make it edible. The only okay part was the ham fried rice. Will not return. The food may be cheaper, but I'd rather pay more for good Chinese food with flavor. read more

Underwhelming to say the least. This place falls into the category of Americanized Chinese food. The food was not bad but it wasn't very interesting either. The egg drop soup with basically chicken noodle soup with some scrambled eggs floating in it. The sweet and sour sauce was thin and runny and my ginger beef in oyster sauce was a one note dish. The one saving grace of my beef was it was loaded with many crunchy vegetables. I have come to terms with the fact that most Chinese food in Salt Lake City is sub-par, with some very notable exceptions, but i was not expecting how awful the service was at this place. The woman who served us was nice enough but she did not speak much English and didn't bother to ensure she understood what we were ordering which lead to soups we didn't want and didn't order. After the woman took our order, we never saw her again. The man who brought our food and refilled our drinks, after we were forced to pull him to our table to do so, was unpleasant. He appeared irritated by the fact that he had to bring us our food or interact with us in any way. read more

I have stated in many of my reviews that people need to rate the restaurant based upon what the restaurant is doing (there are 5 star Taco Bell's...) This place is a family friendly Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. As such, it must be given some latitude. The restaurant is clean and the proprietors work very hard. We have never had a bad meal here. They will also make things that are not on the menu (assuming they have the ingredients and understand what you are asking for). We visit here often. read more

As a starting note, their food quality has gotten worse over their years of business. I do have to say they have some of the best hot and sour soup I have had. But it seems everything else on the menu is starting to taste like everything else. As for the service, the fellow that owns the place is just plain rude. When you walk in he barely acknowledges you. If you do sit down to eat he comes to your table and says "what you want?" Very rudely and abruptly. It's okay for a quick fix. Prices aren't horrible. Food could improve back to what it used to be. What a fun small family place. It was full of people and now we know why. The service was off the charts good. Never once did I have to ask for my water to be refilled. The prices for the food was fantastic and the serving sizes we awesome!! Who doesn't love leftover Chinese food?! The food was really good! What I loved most about this food was it was not greasy. The chicken was light. It was crazy how it felt like the food wasn't greasy. That is not normal when it comes to Chinese food in my opinion. Even the sweet and sour chicken didn't seem to heavy with oil. The only thing we did not like was the lemon chicken. Not good- no real flavor. Other then that our food was delicious! Mediocre at best. I had the vegetable lo mein. Not much flavor. My date's sesame chicken looked like breaded pork rind... The cream cheese wontons were yummy. Not authentic in the slightest.
