While the building is large, the 'shop area' is small, consisting of an L shaped counter, a few shelves with some pantry staples, and two refrigerated cases with beverages, yogurt, and cheeses. There was a steady stream of foot traffic while I was there, people mostly popping in to get a few pies for lunch or stocking up on bread. The line moved quickly and efficiently and we were in and out in no time at all. Their pricing is reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. We spent just about $100 today, but came home with dozens of spinach and meat pies to share and enough bread to stock our freezer for a few weeks. Definitely worth the drive. Pro tip: order one day ahead for 'party size' spinach and meat pies - a smaller version of their traditional pies - which are perfect for any party or family get together.

Walking into Duke's as someone who eats gluten free felt like being a kid in a toy store on Christmas morning. So many incredible options! Even better, there were plenty of soy-free choices for me and dairy-free options for my friend Taylor. Finding a bakery that makes dietary restrictions feel exciting instead of limiting is such a gift. The iced coffee hit the spot, and our Belgian waffle and breakfast sandwich were absolutely delicious.
