When parting from one end of town to another due to sheer utter exhaustion with the added induction of two small glasses of wine, a friend was unable to drive me home. Yet New Enrico's Car Service quoted a flat fare of $29.00 with my very specific directions whom the driver was able, ready, and willing in English to follow through entirely. The driver is aware of the major highways I stated who, without question, was able to connect to the next interstate highway or major road to make my final destination. My ride was smooth which I briefly shut my eyes. The car is clean and thankfully smoke-free odorless. New Enrico's Car Service is one of the better livery cab service I've encounter. read more

Going from East New York to Flushing Queens was $35. It was quoted to me as $30 a week previous, which made me a little suspicious at first. But it was still the cheapest quote I received. It took 30 minutes for the car to arrive, but our driver, Orlando, was really nice, chatty, and a good driver. The car was extra clean, and the ride was smooth. This is most likely the worst car service in all of NY. The driver I met was racist, lazy, and just a terrible driver. Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest rating I can give them. Yesterday one of their drivers decides to hit my parked car. I was parked on the side of the road and this genius (SEE PHOTOS :-) decides to back up at warp speed. He was probably a good 10 feet in front of me but decided to back up anyway. Normally I wouldn't have cared if someone was just trying to back up and save some space, but he came flying back so fast that I had to smash down on the horn in hopes that he would stop. He didn't. He smashed into my front bumper and shook the car pretty well. Good thing he was only going in reverse and even better that I had a FAT bumper guard on. The company however, takes zero responsibility for their drivers since each car is owned by the individual driver, and not the company. Too bad, you get this negative review anyway for allowing people like this to drive around for you. I don't know what this guy's name is, but he was rude, racist, completely unprofessional, a terrible driver, and rest assured he will piss off plenty more customers for you. Just something to think about. And PS if you haven't figured it out by now: the drivers are still your responsibility whether you like to believe that or not. If anyone working at Enrico's is reading this, believe me when I say I will tell as many people as possible about what happened. You pissed off the wrong guy. read more

Super reliable and relatively timely, this car service can be counted on for fairly accurate arrival times and extremely friendly, courteous and knowledgeable drivers and dispatch. My only complaint is the pricing. When paying cash, they offer you a "discount" that still amounts to well over a typical meter fare. Forget about paying by credit card when a cab from Astoria to the East Village will run you $44 without tip. Pricey but hardly matched service and accountability, I will continue to phone New Enrico's when car needs present themselves, but cash will always be my method of payment. read more

I'm saddened to say that 2 out of 3 experiences with them have been disasters. The most recent involved my plane not coming in til close to midnight. My driver was not pleased. He talked on his cell phone ( held it to his ear), read texts and emails and appeared to be texting----all while driving. He did not ask about taking the midtown tunnel and as a result took me into deserted, dark streets and was trying to find his way to the bridge. As a woman, all by myself, I was badly frightened. He refused to move for a police car. The officer had to get out of his squad and TELL him to move. He then flipped off the police van that loosed. Let me just say that I am not easily frightened but I was angry. I sent the company a detailed email that night. I received a response that they would look into it. That was a week ago and I've heard nothing. I told the company that I do not want anything from them except reassurance that this will not happen to anyone else. Their silence says it all. I will be contacting the proper authorities about the situation. No one deserves to be treated this way and I will be filing a formal complaint. read more

These guys are great. Had a 6:30am flight to catch at LGA, so I called the night before and made a 4:45 reservation. They quoted me $20 from Sunnyside, which is very reasonable. The next morning, my driver showed up early in a large, comfortable black Lincoln. He was kind and courteous and asked which way I'd like to go to the airport. I let him choose, and less than 15 minutes later, I arrived. He shook my hand, wished me well, and went on his way. Overall a wonderful experience. I will use these guys again! read more

We paid extra to have the driver meet us inside since we were arriving at 6:50am and I was traveling with an infant. When we got to baggage claim, our driver was nowhere to be found. Calling the office was like 'Who's on first?'. I call them, they call him. I still don't see him after waiting another 10 minutes. I call them, they say he's inside, I say he's not. They call him, he calls me...he's in the parking lot, 'Give me four minutes to pull around'. My 6 month old and I waited at least 20 minutes this morning. Thanks. Then he took us to the wrong hotel. When we walked in, I had a sleeping baby. By the time we got to the right hotel, I did not have a sleeping baby anymore. To Edward's credit, he was very kind and took the bags, opened all doors. Ordered a pick up to go from Forest Hills to Lower East Side, when another company who had 4 starts rating told me for the same trip: "Is going to be $ 85,00 with the trip included" and my thought was, well thank god the trip is included, New Enrico's would charge me $40 instead. Buyer beware!** Called Enrico's after perusing their website and noting their $60 rate To/From Newark to Manhattan. Woman then quotes me $65. I informed her it is $60 on website and she puts me on hold... Then a man (Oder but sp?) gets on and asks me where my destination is. I tell him and he said he had misunderstood me earlier (but we never spoke?) and again, he quotes me $65. I ask about the $60 rate and he tells me I am wrong and that is the rate from NYC TO Newark. That is not what the website reads: http://www.newenricos.com/rates.php Now, it is only $5 but telling me something else then is on the web just feels really sketchy. I proceeded, however, when he says he will honor the $60. I try to give him my informaiton to reserve but he is very clearly not paying attention. Be aware: this car service is NOT in Brooklyn, it's in Astoria. If you do a search for car service in Brooklyn, they are #1 in results and it says "serving Brooklyn." I made a reservation several hours ago to be taken from downtown Brooklyn to JFK, for $40, with a guy who was very nice on the phone. He just called me back claiming that he "looked at the map wrong," and the cost would actually be $45. I asked why, and he said that it would be extra since they were coming from Astoria. I told him that their Yelp page says they serve "downtown Brooklyn and surrounding areas," and that it's ridiculous to charge $5 extra to send service to Brooklyn. I cancelled my reservation. This seems like a scheme for them to make more money. $5 isn't much, it's just the principle of the thing, and the fact that they were willing to lose a customer over five bucks doesn't give me much faith in them. read more

I bought a yelp deal for a $50 round trip from NYC to LaGuardia airport - half off of their regular cost of $100. Now, in a yellow cab, from where I live in Harlem, I would expect to pay around $20-$25 one way to Laguardia. I decided to buy this deal because I can't always rely on getting yellow cabs in Harlem and because my flight left very early and returned very late. They were very friendly when I booked. No problems there. My ride to LaGuardia - the driver picked me up 10 minutes early. Great. Now, from my place, it's 20 minutes top to LaGuardia. I live really close to the Triborough Bridge. But, the driver told me I would have to give him extra cash if I wanted to take the Triborough. Nowhere in the deal offer did it state that I was responsible for bridge tolls. I thought he was trying to scam me, and since it was 3:45 in the morning, going 85 blocks out of the way to the Queensboro bridge wouldn't make me late for my flight. The car was clean enough and the driver was nice, but the bridge thing made me think he was scamming me. My ride home - hte driver picked me up when expected. But then started driving me though strange parts of queens instead of taking the quick route home over the Triborough bridge. I asked the driver where in god's green earth he was taking me and he told me that the price I paid to Enrico's doesn't cover tolls (again - not mentioned anywhere in the offer) and that he would have to deduct the toll from what he would be paid. it was after midnight, I was recovering from food poisoning, exhausted and not in anyway amused by having my ride home take 30 minutes longer than it should have. I don't understand how ENrico's could charge $100 dollars for a service and not include the price of tolls. The amount of money spent on gas taking the long way around to avoid the Triborough toll probably canceled out any savings. I know I got the service for half price, but in offering the deal, they should have clearly stated that tolls would have been extra. Left me feeling scammed. I won't ever use them again. read more

Ok, so the range of car you get picked up in is a bit varied - I've had a guy in a tie who polished his dash at lights and the guy whose car is a shoutback to the old boat I drove in high school - BUT they are always available, always fast and always reasonably priced. Hey, I live in northern Astoria, so my chances of hailing a cab are about 10%. Having a dependable service like New Enrico's is a must have. They're the only car service in my blackberry. And for those who say that other services have nicer cars? Well, let's flashback to Halloween 2008 at the Foundry in LIC. All you folks with your high-end car services were sitting on the curb at 3am since there was about a 10-hour wait for a car. Meanwhile, me and mine were rolling away with New Enrico - it was the longest I'd ever have to wait for them - 20 minutes. Case closed! read more

I have used New Enrico several times getting around but I've become particularly reliant on them now that my fiancé needs to get back and forth from doctors appointments with a broken leg. This morning we had such a courteous driver. He arrived on time, and helped him in and out of the car, and even into a wheelchair. I've only used New Enrico's to head to the airports in the past 4+ years and they have always been reliable. I usually take early flights so I call ahead the night before to schedule a pick up. They know my address (must be linked to my phone number) and it takes less than 1 minute to schedule. The car is always there waiting when I come out of my building - the cars have been very clean and the driver friendly helping me with my luggage. For a car service, they've been reliable and I've never had a problem. read more

Despite a clean car, being on time and a driver who kept the ride smooth, I will never use this service again. When I booked the ride I asked the price for Astoria to JFK and was told $33. I asked for them to clarify if there are any surcharges for tolls etc. Was told no- $33. When I got in the car the driver said i had to call the dispatch office to process my credit card. (There was no credit card swipe machine like in most taxis.) Once the charges were authorized, the driver started the car. So check this out- when I got to JFK my receipt was for $43. I had been charged $10 more than the amount I was quoted. I told the driver it was NOT what the dispatcher told me. He seemed sorry, but said he couldn't do anything about it. When I called the dispatch office to complain, the man answering immediately apologized for the confusion and promised to put that ten dollars back on my credit card. It has been four days and I still haven't seen the charge reversal show up on my credit card. Hmm, we'll see. Even if it was just a mistake in communication by the dispatcher who booked my ride, I still feel like there is something a bit "off" about the whole thing. I guess my advice to anyone who plans to use this service in the future- HAVE CASH. read more

We've used them 6 or 8 times. They come, at BEST, 2 or 3 minutes late - never on time. They've gotten my address wrong three consecutive times (mixed up the 'street' as an 'ave') and tried to make it seem like it was my fault. The prices have recently gone up. Busy signal for an hour. Ever heard of call waiting? The search for Astoria car service continues.

It was post Hurricane Sandy and the subways had not opened and gas lines were long. Getting anywhere was a problem and I had no other choice but to call for a car to take me to the airport. Car services were booking quickly and it took 4 calls to find a car available. Allowing plenty of time for the unforeseen, the driver arrived 10 minutes early in a shiny clean car to my astonishment. As we drove, the driver (competing for a land speed record) was mumbling something that I thought was directed to me but in hindsight I think he was talking to someone via cell or radio. I'm sure his occasional grunting was intended for me but communication was at a minimum. We arrived at JFK in record time and I was relieved to exit the car in one piece and with plenty of time to kill at the airport. Under normal circumstances I would give this experience 3 stars but I was so grateful to get out of town and for an uneventful ride to the airport that I upped it a star. I'd give them another try if needed the next hurricane. read more

Enrico's Enrico's.. Usted me hace tan feliz!! 5am flight? No problem. The driver is there 5-10 minutes before your requested time. I've used this car service to LaGuardia Airport 5 times now, and they've never failed to be right on time. It's about $16 you'll have to pay (this includes tip) and this price is if you pay with cash. The drivers are always cordial and they make sure to get to your destination on time. Reliable and pleasant, just the way I like my car rides! Side Note: I must admit that it's probably easier for them to be on time because I live literally a block from their office, so take this review however you'd like. I'd still highly recommend their service, even if it's a little bit pricier than taking a cab or taking the subway then bus to the airport. Happy travels! read more

New Enrico's used to be my go-to car service for queens-- especially when traveling to/from LGA or JFK. For the past year or so, their service has gone downhill. For one thing, more than half the time I call, the call goes to voicemail. When I finally get a human, they always ask for all my contact info-- before, they had a system that would store info with my phone number. So annoying. Finally, several times recently, theyve failed to have a driver and car for me at the airport in a timely manner. Cannot recommend. And frustrated because they used to be better. read more

What can I say about New Enrico's? It was a pleasure from beginning to end! I called the day before, and needed an EARLY pick up at 5 am and a ride to Penn Station, to catch a 6 am train to go to DC for an interview. So, it was very important that the car be there on time. The day before my friend did the same thing, but with another car service, and she had a horrible experience, so I was nervous, especially not having used this service before. The next morning, at 4:45 am, I called Enrico's to make sure my car would be here on time. The dispatcher told me the car was ALREADY out front, waiting for me! I couldn't believe it! I went downstairs and there was this HUGE SUV, fantastic since I am a big dude--6'4. The driver, Peter, was awesome, He got me to the station very quickly and was friendly and courteous. He told me that the SUV was his car, and if I wanted it again, I should request him. WHICH I WILL TOTALLY DO!! And the best part was, I got a discount for mentioning Yelp, even though I was going to a train station and not the airport! I will use these folks again for sure! read more

The next morning I was really nervous, because I had never called a car service in the nyc area before, and I have a hard time trusting people in situations like this. Despite my awfulizing that whole morning, the driver pulled up right at 6:45. He was in an unmarked minivan, and wasn't SUPER friendly, but he wasn't rude or anything either...probably just don't speak a lot of English. So I guess thats the only reason I gave them 4/5 stars. Bought a yelp deal here: * Service was prompt - the driver texts and calls you when he arrives at your pick-up location. * Since it was early in the morning, the driver told us he would take the 59th St bridge rather than the Midtown tunnel which I thought was very nice because he saved us some toll $ that way * Driver made us walk all the way down to departures because apparently arrivals was too packed.. and then we had to wait another 15 mins for him to pull his car around. * Technically you can only do one drop-off spot in Manhattan with the yelp deal but since my friend and I lived relatively close to each other we asked if he could drop both of us off. He agreed but charged us $10! It would have cost less than half than that in a cab! Only bad part of the trip :( read more

I used to use Enrico's all the time. And to put that in context, I have used them regularly (3-10 times/week) since 1996. In the past 6 to 8 months, as evidenced by multiple other reviews here, they've gone completely down the tubes. You can never get a human when you call, it either goes straight to voicemail or you're put on an endless hold loop, when you do actually get a human being (I've only gotten one in about the past three months) their system, which used to recognize via your phone number your frequent destinations and your typical pickup location, never ever seems to work anymore, so you have to always provide complete information, etc. Ultimately it's a very disappointing development, since I've used them and relied on their clean, well kept cars, reliable, friendly drivers, and ability to get you quickly from point A to point B, for so so many years. But as evidenced by their recent inability to deliver service, and, again, the multiple other reviews testifying to this, I can no longer recommend Enrico's. read more

Reserved a car to take my best friend and I to her surprise birthday dinner. I didn't want to kill the mood and excitement with a long, icky subway ride. I made a reservation the night before and the car showed up on the dot at exactly 9:00. The process was easy and reliable and relatively affordable. Minus one star because: 1. Like I said, the dinner was a surprise and my roommate didn't know where we were going. He asked the address, so I said it was a surprise and asked if I could write it on his sheet. I did, he took it, and proceeded to read it out loud back to me. Minus half a star for cluelessness. 2. He took us on a windy, twisty-turny, back road tour of Astoria, complete with lots of red lights on the way to the bridge. Northern Blvd. would have been half the time. read more

I've used New Enrico for several years now and they have always been great. They have been on time (even early), their cars are clean, and their drivers courteous. However, a few weeks ago I scheduled a pickup at 4am (I had a very early meeting) and no one ever showed up. I ended up being late to my meeting. I called New Enrico and they said they had no record of my reservation in the system and there was nothing they could do. I'm very disappointed in their customer service. They were previously 5-stars in my book. Now I think I will look for another car service... :( read more

Yelpers, you really let me down this time. To quote Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction, "English MFer... Do you speak it?!" This is the theme for my review... I hired these guys pick up one of my hot model girlfriends from the airport. Yeah... It's a tough job transporting hot chicks but somebody has to do it eh? It was her first time ever to NYC and I didn't want to leave her schlepping her luggage around and waiting in the cab line in some strange city she'd never been to before. After waiting on hold listening to a cross between mariachi and polka music on auto repeat with the flamboyant Spanish equivalent of the Movie Fone guy piping in every 15 seconds, I was ready to bust out my machine gun jubblies and start rat a tat tatting. As evidenced by my previous reviews, I'm not a big fan of elevator music and being put on hold for long periods of time. I don't think anyone is but I actually recommend calling this place just to laugh at their hold music. It's absolutely ridiculous and ranks up there with some of the worst I've ever heard! As if this wasn't bad enough, the phone operator literally put me on hold about 10 different times during the ordering process so I had to listen to this garbage for quite some time. I asked for the Peter guy mentioned in one of the other reviews but was told that he was the owner and that he wasn't a driver. Talk about false advertising... The owner's name isn't even Enrico, LOL! Seriously though, I thought that it was a bit strange that some guy wrote that he had this nice driver who had an SUV but according to the dispatcher there wasn't even someone like that whom I could request. I decided to put my faith in all of the positive feedback I had read on Yelp and roll the dice anyway. I scheduled and paid in advance. The next day, I get a call from my friend. The extra money I had paid for my request for her to be greeted with a sign at the airport when she arrived was not honored and there was a bit of confusion trying to get her in touch with the driver. She finally found him but the problems didn't end there. The driver tried to get her to pay for the car even though I had already paid. He also didn't speak much English and didn't know where to go. I had told the dispatcher my address when I booked so what was the point? The whole intent of me booking this car service was to put her at ease when she was visiting an unfamiliar city. Asking her for directions when she has no clue where she is? Let's just say that the mission was not exactly accomplished. Regardless, she got to my apartment safe and in one piece and didn't become the subject of a story on the Evening News so I decided to give them another shot. Maybe they had just had an off day. And after all, I had booked the appointment pretty last minute. Plus, finding an affordable car service in this city is not an easy task. I called again and was told by the dispatcher that they couldn't help me because my friend had stood the driver up. What???!!!! Are you friggin' kidding me right now? My friend took your car service. I asked her to get a copy of the receipt. She had to call me to ask how to say the word "receipt" in Spanish so she could even accomplish that task. I know it's your company she got a ride from. Now you're telling me that she didn't indeed take a ride from one of your drivers. Let me guess, some other Spanish speaking driver at the airport gave her a free ride to my apartment out of the goodness of his heart right? And now I'm banned from using your company when I know for a fact my friend got a ride from you guys because you charged my card. I can't believe that I'm actually 86ed from using a car service that calls itself "New Enrico's Car Service". This has gotta be some sort of a joke! I pride myself on honesty and getting accused of something that isn't factual is not cool hombre. i've been using enrico's for about two years now and have never had a bad experience. the drivers are courteous and on-time and the dispatchers have never given me the "five minutes" routine. i've gotten to know some of the drivers by name and even seem to get the same guys over and over. the cars are clean and well maintained and don't have that usual "baby puke" smell that so many car services have. cheap and reliable is how these guys roll. read more

I used New Enricos a lot but this is not the first time this happened and I'm done This morning I called and scheduled a cab for pick up at 8am, I know they are usually busy and backed up cause of the snow and everyone wants a cab so I figured if I called at 7:30 for 8am it would give them more then enough time and they shouldn't be late like they usually are. I would give them ZERO stars if I can. In my 11 years living in NY I've never had such a nasty exchange with another human being , a sad ending to my Thanksgiving evening. The concierge at my friend's building called New Enrico's for me, and maybe I made a huge mistake not asking the driver right away how much my 2.5 miles ride was going to run me, possibly because I had just taken another car service in the opposite direction and it was only $10. I figured can't be much more than that, WRONG! Enrico's wanted $21 for the same ride! We had only driven just a few blocks when I found this out because I heard the driver talk to the dispatcher on the radio. When I protested the price because I don't appreciate being totally RIPPED OFF and asked the driver to take me back, he wanted $10 just to turn around. what?? so I decided to just get out of the car, this is when the driver got really nasty, rolled down his window and started yelling at me calling me a "cheap trouble person", saying I shouldn't call a service if I can't afford it (ahem, I so very CAN), and other choice words I can't repeat here as he drove off. At the time scheduled they werent there. we called they said the driver was outside. half hour later on the corner at 3 in the morning we waited with our luggage. 10 mins later a town car shows up even though we had booked a limo.
