Their online scheduling system is great and while they have that technology upfront, their services and expertise still seems old school and exactly what I was looking for. He's receptive to feedback and offers great suggestions on how to style my hair. He is amazing at fades; I have received so many compliments every time I get a cut from him. I walked in without an appointment and was seen by one of the open barbers. I told the barber how i wanted my hair cut and she started to cut my hair. BUT 5mins into my cut, another customer walked in and the owner said "this is the one that called in, can you take him." The barber stopped mid haircut and said that I would have to get the rest of my haircut from another open barber. The other barber did a good job, but I have never - NEVER - in my life ever had to switch barbers mid-haircut. I have never felt that another customer was more important than me. I just stood there feeling stupid. I have been going to Royal Barber shop for nearly a year. Up until now I have been happy. They typically do a good job. BUT part of going to a barber shop is the experience. It's to feel good about yourself. That did not happen today. The individual barbers looked embarrassed and were apologetic. BUT the owner was not and did not say a single word to me. In short, if you come here, you'll get a good haircut, just be sure you call ahead or else you might be treated as a 2nd rate customer. You may not get the royal treatment as a walk in.

Ralph was quick in replying and kept their promise of under one hour response time. I typically have a hard time trying to find a good barber that can take any appointments on weekdays after 5 PM but this one was happy to. Ralph set me up with Angel after some good back and forth asking for pricing and how they accept payments. I walked in a bit early and it did take a minute for someone to come up and asked if I needed help but I didn't find this to be a big deal, I was probably in a good mood. Reading other reviews on here, I had the opposite experience. Angel was very social and knew how to have a conversation by asking the right questions. The haircut was good and he knew the terms and the look I was trying to achieve. I walked out feeling so much better about myself. At the end of it all, I was able to get Angel's number and I may now have a barbershop that I can rely on whenever i'm in the area. Side note: During our cut, I got to know more about the owner and how he discovered some of his barbers like Angel. I'm happy to hear how he was able to give this young man an opportunity to make a career out of what he loves. Nothing but respect for that. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
