I wholeheartedly agree with the other recent reviews. Luis came off as an honest solar guy but soon proved to be dishonest. For starters he takes more than the 10% or up to $1000 for a deposit on the job and provided me a contractor's license which he claimed he was affiliated with on my invoice. I gave him a majority of the payment for the solar job and never finish the job with several excuses along the way. I had to get another solar installer to finish the job. **Worst Company Experience Ever** I scheduled my first appointment for Dec 5, 2023, making it clear that I was off-grid, my system was vandalized, & now I was spending $60/day on generator fuel. I needed power urgently. They didn't show up. rescheduled for Dec 8, Luis promised we'd be the first appointment. morning of Dec 8, he confirmed and asked if noon was okay. I reminded him about our situation & asked him not to cancel. He assured me they'd be there. They didn't show up again. Luis rescheduled for the following day. Again, no show, no call. On Dec 11, Luis promised to be there the next day. He finally showed up. We agreed on purchasing 20 used panels he'd taken off another home which were according to him just taking up storage space and a new inverter for a total of $3,000, including installation. He took a $600 deposit & said he'd return in 2-3 weeks. This would have been between Dec 26 - Jan 2. On Jan 16, Luis said he'd come on Jan 19, but again, no show. Another appt was set for Jan 24, but he didn't show up. He gave me a bizarre story about potentially being locked up for life. Still unsure what that was about. On Jan 26, another no show and no call. On Jan 27, after waiting six weeks and spending the equivalent of the job's cost on fuel, Luis promised to do the installation for free & would call me the next day. No call. On Jan 30, he said he'd be there on Feb 2, but again, no show & no call. By this time, I was selling stocks to keep my generator running. On Feb 9, Luis promised to deliver the panels & inverter on Feb 12. No show. He then promised to be there the next morning. No show. On Feb 14, he said he'd be there at 5 am. No show but texted at 5:45 am, asking me to meet him in Escondido, a two-hour drive. I'd need to borrow a trailer. Instead, he offered to ship everything, including an upgraded inverter, & promised a tracking number. I asked for the tracking number on Feb15, 16, and 17. On Feb 17, Luis said the items were picked up that morning and requested my email for the tracking info. No tracking info received on Feb 17, 18, or 19. On Feb 19, he claimed his office would send it, and the panels should arrive by Tuesday or Wednesday. No delivery or tracking info on either day or ever. Finally, on Feb 22, Luis showed up, dumped 14 panels in my driveway, & left. He claimed the rest of the panels & the inverter had shipped on Feb 17, but on Feb 24, he still hadn't sent the tracking info, claiming he hadn't returned to his laptop. No delivery was ever made, & no tracking info was given. On Mar 1, he said he was out of town & would call upon his return. I heard nothing for a month until a few people texted him on my behalf. On Jun 9, Luis said I could pick up the panels but wouldn't give an address. On Jun 11, he said he could meet that afternoon in San Clemente but again didn't provide an address & stopped responding. Later, he asked me to pick a date and time to meet halfway. We set an appt for 10 am on June 15. I drove 85 miles, only to be told he was running behind but would get the panels to me that day. I waited until 1:30 pm with my three dogs in the truck, then he asked me to wait another hour. I had to return home. He then promised someone would deliver them. I wasted a whole day and a tank of gas. On Jun 17, he asked for my address. No delivery or call followed. As of today, June 24, 2024, I still haven't received the rest of the panels or the inverter. Luis has lied repeatedly and essentially bankrupted me in fuel costs while waiting for him to keep his word. Over 203 days at $60/day in fuel costs amount to $12,180. I have spent my entire savings on fuel and have no idea how to survive because of this company and Luis's lack of integrity. We are a religious organization on a tight budget, trying to build a campus in Boulevard, CA. Without reliable power, we cannot proceed with any projects or construction. I found Luis after becoming extremely frustrated with my usual company/installer for failing to follow up. Luis responded extremely quickly, knew exactly what I was trying to accomplish, and came back with a very reasonable quote. Luis came out as soon as the rain cleared and was very communicative leading up to his arrival. He quickly swapped out the three optimizers that needed replacing. We chatted a bit and you could see that he was passionate about his work and doing right by his clients. We have been through hell! We got a deal on solar. You know the "too good to be true" saying. It was installed 2 and a half years ago. It has never worked. The guy, Francisco, stopped returning our calls eventually. So, we were just out over 10 thousand dollars. My uncle found this company. It was difficult to say the least for them to trouble shoot someone else's shady work. They got shocked by a stripped wire! They found a screw through one of the panels. They have been out multiple times to fix the mess. We think it is working now! Honestly, it was just nice to have someone return calls, show up and try to help us. It wasn't free of course. There is no guarantee that all our issues are fixed. But, we have hope. It was great working with competent and caring people. We wish we had used them originally! Stay Away from this guy/company! Luis the owner is a dishonest guy who lies. Lied to be paid in full and took an extra 45 days to complete a job that should have taken one day. Don't waste your time and money using New Era Energy Solutions. I had Luis re-install solar panels that were originally removed by a different service thinking that I would be saving time and money. That was a major mistake. A job that should have been completed in 1-2 weeks ended up taking ~4 months from April to August. It started out with Luis re-installing the panels and then the inverter not working which he should have checked and tested it. That didn't happen. We never knew it wasn't operating until we noticed our solar was not working due to the high monthly electric bills. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Luis would always say they would be coming to check the inverter but ended up with many excuses of why they couldn't make it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After getting paid we were no longer a priority. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally after many calls and texts they came out and determined that my inverter needed replacement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With Luis' recommendation I had him purchase a new inverter which took forever for him to install and finally when he said he was on his way to install the new inverter they unbelievably installed an old used inverter instead of the new one that I paid Luis for which I came to find out was not even working. After finally getting the new inverter installed I asked Luis to clean the solar panels which he said he would do without charging me. I had asked him specifically to do this when the panels were removed and on the ground since it would be easy to do. I even texted him to remind his crew to clean the panels which he said it would definitely be done. It was never done and you would think he would feel bad and go out of his way to clean them for all the delays and frustration he caused. AVOID THIS COMPANY. I gave Luis almost a 50% deposit for a new Inverter back on May 10, 2024. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He finally let me know the inverter was here and that he would be installing it on June 24.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since then he repeatedly stood me up for appointments, never calling to cancel or reschedule.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Finally, on August 2, the Inverter was delivered and partially installed, with the promise to be back the next day to finish the job. He showed up on August 6, did some jury rigging of something, said the inverter was working and claimed the job was done except for programming it with a company online and he would do that when he got back to the office. I asked him for the paperwork on the Inverter and he acted very surprised and said he didn't have any. I told him I wanted to have the serial number so that I could register it for the 15-yr warranty. He said I could do that with the company he had purchased the Inverter from and that I didn't need any paperwork. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He never offered to show me the inverter or how it worked. In fact when I asked to see it, he said I didn't need to, I do see everything online.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then he wanted to be paid!!! I said I would pay him when I was online and had the paperwork on the Inverter. This is a saga - I contacted this business to troubleshoot my low output solar panel system on 27 Apr 2024. Luis told me my solar panels were failing and I should replace 24 of them immediately. I was unsure of this diagnosis so I contacted another service to also troubleshoot my system. The other diagnosis said my inverters ere failing. So, I called Luis back and asked him how sure he was of his diagnosis. He said he was positive and that he would replace my failing inverter at his cost if that was not the case. He then proceeded to replace my inverter on my go ahead, at a cost of $4,000 (this was 5/4/2024). The panels did not correct the problem. He told me he would be out on Wednesday, 5/15, to replace the inverter at his cost. It is now Wednesday, 5/22, he has yet to return to my property with or without an inverter and keeps providing weaker excuses for why he hasn't implemented the agreed to repair. Not sure this is a business anyone should be working with at this point. read more

New Era Energy is best company I have found in Southern California to fit solar panel disconnection from DWP. The technician assigned to our protect is Luis Arellano. The day we spoke, he said "I will be at your property tomorrow." And, he was. [Most "solar repair" I called - about 4-6, did not answer the phone and if they set an appointment, they did not show nor called to let me know! The contract that installed the system 2 years gave me the run around for weeks.] Luis' did have issues, but was prompt to reply to my texts and calls during follow-ups. Life isn't perfect but Luis and New Era Energy will not keep you in the dark, they do not fear imperfection. I recommend him and NEE strongly! And, Will enroll in their service agreement. I don't usually get on here but I had to let people know about this company. My original solar installer ended up going out of business leaving me high and dry as far as any warranties or maintenance was concerned. A roof leak led me to inspect the installation and I found broken tiles and a cracked solar panel on my roof, damaged (chewed up) wiring and my panels were so dirty I was losing production and rebate values! When I called these guys they said they could handle all of it, and they DID! Replaced my tiles and panel and wiring, installed a critter guard and cleaned my panels. Now my system looks and operates like it did when it was brand new and I think I'm going to have them install an EV charger for me as well. 100% satisfied with Luis and his team would definitely ask them to come back out if there was ever any other issues!! read more
