Chris Smith is a fast talking crook. He plumbed a small bathroom for us and charged over $1,500 for 4 hours worth of work, he took a 1 hour lunch break, and used less than $100 in materials. He ended up cutting holes in the ceiling without consulting us first, and then expected us to pay for the drywall and texture repairs. No Workers Comp insurance, so hopefully none of his guys get hurt on your property! Absolutely feel ripped off; do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Chris came over to clear my tub drain and spent about 5 minutes trying to run a snake past the trap. He was unsuccessful but said it was fine and charged me $145. After 3 showers the drain is back to how it was. I texted Chris and he responded back immediately.... until he realized who it was. Then his whole tone changed; he said that the trap was corroded and it would never clear unless replaced (which is a huge job). 4 years ago, the pipe was replaced due to a root growing inside, and today the same issue occurred because the pipe was not sealed properly.

I have use these guys for years, ironically my previous plumber referred me to them. Chris and his crew are the best. I have worked with them for about 4 years. Broc is the man. I call him the helper because he was much younger when he started helping with my properties. He has been doing this for 8 years with Chris who has been doing this a lifetime . If Broc shows up you are in trusted hands. He is fast, personable and efficient. I am amazed how fast he can work to get the job done and still be in a conversation giving helpful advice along the way. Chris is awesome as well he trains his people right! I rent a house in Costa Mesa. Our toilets and showers back up and are draining onto our front lawn. I call three plumbers, to snake the drain. Not one of the three (big name plumbers) even get a snake off the truck. They quote me anywhere from 3500 to 5000 dollars. So my boss gives me the number to CGS I call them they showed up in 25 mins!!!! Went on the roof and snaked the drain. Charged way less than I planned on paying. And informed me the other plumbers diagnosis was correct. But their quote was way too high to install a main clean out. I would recommend them to everyone I know. It literally took them 15 mins. To fix something 3 other plumbers wouldn't even try. I don't want to tell you what they charged only because I believe they sold them selves way short. I can't say enough about Chris and CGS Plumbing. After Christmas Eve dinner we had a main line sewer blockage and the downstairs toilet started to puke onto the floor and into the hallway. Keep in mind that we also were hosting Christmas breakfast the next morning! What's a guy to do!?! With my wife looking at me in dismay, our downstairs starting to flood, and all the spare towels on the floor, I picked up my phone and looked on Yelp for a local plumber that might be interested in trading his evening as his family's Santa Claus with cookies for a chance to to come root out my sewer line with poo water. Within an hour, the owner personally came to the house and in about 30-min had us back up and running again. I was expecting a $500 bill and a ruined Christmas, but what I got was quick, exceptional service and a reasonable price that didn't break the bank (even though it was 10pm on Christmas Eve). Great service and professional work! I had a slow draining laundry drain that I needed to get cleared out. My Dad had actually broke a segment of our snake in the drain trying to clear the stoppage. My wife had stayed home for another plumbing company to work on it, but they were a no show. I got CGS Plumbing's info from a guy I work with. Chris was on another job in Tustin at the time I called him, but his crew was able to respond to my call and show up at our house in a couple of hours. I had a mainline sewer collapse due the age of my cast iron pipes finally breaking down no longer able to drain properly. Chris and team tried to fix the line but was broken in other places.
