When I arrived, I was about 8th in line. As someone in the doll community, I recognized many of the people waiting. Everyone came equipped with multiple totes and bags, ready to fill with the dolls that had been advertised. By the time the sale opened at 10 a.m., the line had only grown to about 15 people. This is significantly fewer than most estate sales, which was concerning, but I still wanted to keep an open mind. Once inside, I noticed something strange: everyone ahead of me was walking around with empty totes and puzzled expressions. It quickly became clear why. Nearly every item in the house was priced at or above eBay levels. To give a reference, there was a pair of antique dolls that are realistically worth about $400, yet they were priced at $3,500. That is insane. If the family or company truly wants "top dollar," those items should be listed online, not at an in-person estate sale. To make matters worse, many items weren't priced at all. At checkout, the man running the sale was Google Image searching items to determine pricing on the spot. When customers pointed out how unprofessional this was, he defended himself by saying it was unreasonable to price everything in the house. While that may be true, it is equally unreasonable to rely on Google searches at checkout, since they often give inaccurate results. That likely explains the extremely inflated prices. I also overheard that they plan to sell at a local doll show, and if that is the case, they should not have marketed this as an estate sale. It was disappointing to see so many doll collectors leaving empty-handed. If the dedicated collectors in attendance weren't willing to buy, who exactly was this sale intended for? I am giving 2 stars because the house itself was nicely staged and the staff were friendly. However, I understand now why this company has such a low rating and why the turnout was so small. I would caution other families against entrusting their loved ones' collections to this company, as the items will likely be overpriced and left unsold rather than going to appreciative new homes.

Pete is very thorough and spent hours organizing and sorting 60 year's worth of items and researching their value. In addition to the actual sale days, they also list items online to pre-sell, contact local buyers, sell on ebay, and keep items on consignment to sell later- basically doing everything they can to sell for you. They do a great job after the sale as well, donating as much as they can so as little as possible gets thrown out. Pete will also haul away when needed, and handle any curbside pickups. Lastly, we really appreciate how part of their business model is a willingness to take on smaller jobs (they do this by sometimes combining sales into one location), allowing them to service different types of needs, including many clients the larger estate sale companies might refuse.

Well, Peter- not yours, for sure, but then post signage, please, as many of the other sales in town have CLEARLY STATED POLICIES posted. So I looked at him stunned by his blowup, and then started to change my mind about the tray- which he then yanked out of my hands and put behind the register, and then he IGNORED ME to snap at other people trying to pay. I stepped behind the other people to get back in line to purchase the tray because I DID like it and it is unique.
