Had my eyes done recently there And they told me to put on vitamin E oil after the surgery. I googled it and they don't recommend it.

I had a referral from my eye doctor to do an extra check on my eyes. No issue there, but this is where it goes downhill. I received a call to set up an appointment for my upcoming visit with a scheduler so I went ahead and gave her my information and during that call she had my information from my visit when I was a kid so we laughed about that and she updated my information with current insurance. The day of my appointment was normal, come in early and fill out paperwork. I gave the front desk representative my id & medical card and started to fill out the forms. When I went back up to the desk to drop off my forms & pay the co-pay she asked me for my insurance card. I assumed she meant my eye insurance card since she had my medical insurance card in her hand and in my file. She said she was having trouble finding my insurance and I mentioned that my eye insurance card was in the mail and she said that she would be able to find it. A few moments later, she found it apparently and told me the copay was $50 and some change. I thought it was a weird amount for a copay, but I said it's probably a credit card fee and went on with my visit. The visit wasn't bad, he just wanted me to come again as a follow up even though I did not get any true diagnosis. I didn't find it weird since some doctors do want a better scope of things so I decided to make the appointment. My next appointment would've been the appointment to confirm any diagnosis. A month later, New Eyes sends me a bill in the mail for an extra $5 and some change and apparently the front office charged me incorrectly and I had to pay the difference. A little bothered but it's not a big deal. So I went online to check in before my visit and they had all of my information from when I was a kid with my high school address so I updated it once again. This would be the 3rd time with me going back in, noticing the address & insurance isn't current, and once again changing my information to update for them. Now on the 11th hour I get a call from the office to asking me cancel my appointment or pay out of pocket because they don't take my insurance. But you somehow took my insurance from the last visit and my money? There has been too much error on their part for me to be comfortable with at this point. There was plenty of opportunities to figure out any discrepancies from the referral process, while filing paperwork in person, while on the phone with billing for the different in pay, and through online check in. I guess I lose out of $60 and no diagnosis because there's no due diligence? Cool. read more

An amazing experience. At first I was discouraged because it took 2 months to get an appointment. Once I got in Dr. Stafeeva was amazing. Her staff is super nice and helpful. My surgery was a bit rough but she scheduled follow appointments and took the time to listen and assess what is going on. So many doctors in Las Vegas are rushed and don't listen. She is fantastic. I had an excellent experience from beginning to end. When I called to schedule an appt the representative was extremely helpful, she went above and beyond and I had an appt scheduled for that day. When I arrived at the office, everyone in the front was very friendly and helpful, even the other patients in the waiting room were nice! The nurse that did my initial exam was also very friendly and helpful, she had a great personality and was very thorough. And Dr Austin was just the best! I went in for a corneal abrasion, I was very comfortable throughout the entire exam, he was great at explaining everything to me so I was very informed. I left feeling very pleased with the quality of care I received and will definitely be returning for any future needs! read more

If you are thinking about going to Dr. Helga Pizio at New Eyes, for cataract surgery, I'd like to suggest that you think again. I spent over $10,000. so I wouldn't need glasses again. Well, that hasn't happened. I can't read without glasses and can barely read with them! I used to love to read in bed before I went to sleep. Can hardly make out the print now. I went for my six month check-up and she said everything was "wonderful." It isn't. Oh, guess I should mention that I have an eyeful of floaters that I didn't have before the surgery. She also said that they would call me to set up my one year appointment. They didn't. And, guess what? They charged me quite a bit for the six month appointment. I thought that was included in the $10,000+ but it wasn't. I ended up going to another practice for an eye exam and they told me that my vision is 20/40 in EACH EYE. Not what I paid for. And, the light flashes I had during night driving are still there! My friend, who recommended Dr. P. had her surgery on the same day. She has such bad halos that she can no longer drive at night. I am satisfied with the staff, office, doctor and a BIG gratitude hug for a lovely, knowledagble SMART young woman who supercedes the meaning of service, customer support and information - PATRICIA. New Eyes is an Ophthalmology group with several offices in our area. Although I have gone to many physicians in my lifetime in many different practices, I don't remember any of them, regardless of type of practice or location in 7 different states where I've lived, that I could define as the perfect combination of excellent doctors, physician assistants, office help, cleanliness, efficiency, kindness and understanding. My story starts 13 years ago when my vision start getting worse. I went to my local Costco and saw the eye doctor there for new glasses. This is when he told me I was losing my sight to Advanced Corneal Disease in both eyes and a corneal transplant is my only option. After years of being scared of a transplant in late 2020 I finally decided to attack my issues and get the surgery. My vision was so bad I could not drive a car, I could not see the stars at night. Legally blind. So Dec of 2020 I met Dr. Ksenia Stafeeva at New Eyes. At that time I didn't know how the surgery would go or what an impact this doctor would have on my life. So I had my 1st surgery February 11th 2021 on my Left eye. The surgery was a life changing event. In one day I went from everything being blurry, and I mean everything, to seeing street signs I couldn't see the day before. I could see the little numbers below street signs to tell you what hundred block your on. I was so blind I didn't know those where ever there. For the 1st time in 15 years I could see stars in the night sky. Anyways this was a improvement. Although we are not done yet. So Fast forward a year to February 17th 2022. I have my 2nd surgery on my eye. Now, holy crap! After a day or so I'm walking around with no glasses, no bumping into things, no looking at my phone really close to my face, no guessing if that's my friend walking up to me. I can freaking see! I mean really see, Sharply, I. HD, Ultra HD. (Says the blind guy) But seriously, I can see like it's 1988 and I'm in Jr high. Years since I've seen this well! Absolutely amazing, life changing experience. I don't have the words to explain what this woman, this Doctor, this Surgeon has done for me. Now you might be thinking this is an exaggeration or overstatement. But imagine "yourself" being legally blind, not able to get a driver's license, your friends and love ones faces be blurry for half your adult life. How would you feel if it all has been corrected over a years time? What would you feel? How would you look at the person who gave that back to you and took care of you. Always yelling at me to "Take your drops buddy" Don't forget to take your drops buddy" LoL. ( This is important for the transplant to avoid tissue rejection) All I'm really saying is you would appreciate what this lady did for you , right? At least you could do is write this short story of how she changed your life and what it means for how you view the world. To me no Doctor, person, or any type of service provider has impacted my life like this before. And if you read this Dr. Stafeeva, Thank you and God bless you for giving my sight back. I understand that some clinics just don't take certain insurances because they simply are not in-network. But at least, do your due diligence and check upon booking the appointment. We booked the appointment almost a month in advance because that's how long you have to wait to get in to their clinic. When I booked the appointment, they asked for the patient's information as usual including the insurance information. In that span of time between gathering the patient information and the actual appointment, you would think that they check everything. They even sent us the paperwork two weeks after that. But come our appointment date, we were told that they can't see us because they do not take our insurance. Wow. This is an eye surgery clinic. If they have done their due diligence and checked all our information beforehand, we would have been able to book another appointment with another provider. The patient would have been able to get relief from her eye ailments in that span of time instead of waiting for this appointment only to be told we cannot be seen. I can't speak or comment about the providers in this clinic. I've never seen one. This review is purely for how they handle their accounts. You have to train your employees to do their work better. Also, remove condescending employees from your front-desk. It does not help at all with your customer service. read more

Before my cataract surgery, I was told I could not get one of the newer lenses that helps you see both near and far, but that I had to choose one of the old-fashioned lenses and could choose to see better new OR far because I have fugues dystrophy. On the EXACT day of my surgery, you know the day Dr. Smart sliced my eye open and put in the old-fashioned lenses in, he handed me a pamphlet and said, "Good News! They just finalized a new lens, that helps you see near AND far, for fugues dystrophy. Dr Smart does not work there anymore. Then I went to see another Andrew Kwong, another doctor there after I lost vision in the eye they operated on. He said I had CME, and as I was leaving, literally in the waiting room, he came out and asked me, "You don't think you had a stroke, do you?" I said no, I did not think so. Well the next time I saw him, he said, based on his visual exam, I HAD had a stroke. He said it several times. I know because I wrote it down and my husband was in the waiting room. So did he spring into action, suggest I see my regular doctor, get screening top see if I was a candidate for another stroke? Why no, he did nothing of the sort. In fact, just called to get my results so I could them to my PCP and he did NOT EVEN WRITE IT IN HIS NOTES! And now, I can not get anyone to talk to me or figure this out. Also, he did about half of glaucoma testing, and said he could not finish because he did not have time. read more

Just like the other reviewer before, I went to this office on my annual diabetic test on my eyes and before getting tested I asked the front office lady of how much I am paying out of my pocket. She asked for my insurance card ( Aetna ) to verify my coverage and said that the test is covered and I only have to pay my copay which is $40 which I paid after. Then several weeks later I got a bill from New Eyes for another $29 saying that my insurance coverage is short of $ 29 !!! and i have to pay for it! In short, this is BS and what they did was to OVERCHARGE my insurance over the approved coverage and now they are passing it on to me- the patient who specifically told otherwise before doing the test. Do NOT go this place i they are crooks!! read more

Went to Dr. Smart at New Eyes. He recommended I wear glasses and things wouldn't be so hazy. I west to Sams Club and paid $317 for glasses that make things hazy. My dollar store reading glasses work better. Also I have dry eyes and only found out during a physical with my doctor. read more

I'm sorry I had my cataract surgery. I could see better before. My left eye is in constant pain, and my right eye is useless. I can't read a book, I put my computer on 200% and everything is still blurry. I just got my new glasses, figuring that would get my vision corrected, and distance and TV are readable but not completely in focus. I called to get an appointment same day or next because of the pain and vision problems and was told they are booked for another month. How's that for helping out your surgery patient? read more

I had my cataracts done several years ago. I wish I had it to do all over again. She said she would correct my stigmatism and if I paid $6000 extra I could get the multi-focal lenses so I wouldn't have to use reading glasses. Sounded like a miracle. NOT! She didn't correct my stigmatism (said she couldn't do it but I think she forgot!), I think the prescription for the reading part of my lenses was off due to the girl who did the readings. I had to wear glasses to read. She told me not to do that I have to let my eyes adjust. How can I see if I don't use my readers?? They had a surgical room FULL of people waiting to have their cataracts done so it's like an assembly line thus her forgetting to do my stigmatism. This has been 5 years or so ago and I still have to use reading glasses and I had to go to my regular doctor to get glasses to correct my stigmatism. All that money so I could do away with glasses and I still have to wear them. I went back several times for checkups. Each time they would say they were worried about the pressure in my eyes. I did this several times and then went to my regular eye doctor and the pressure in my eyes were fine!! They were just milking my insurance (and me) for the rechecks. I wish I had found a different doctor and I'm so disappointed in my results. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this office. After visiting an urgent care physician and 2 other Opthamologists in town I was luckily referred to Dr. Stafeeva. She diagnosed my problem that day and did treatment also. Within an hour I had my prescriptions filled and all my questions answered. She is a true professional and I highly recommend her! I also want to complement the staff in the front of the office, particularly Nicole and I believe "Laila". They were very accommodating and helped me with all my paperwork. I had cataracts surgery on both of my eyes because of difficulty driving at night. Dr. Kenia Stafeeva operated on both of my eyes. It didn't help. She said sometimes cataracts surgery doesn't work. Then I saw Dr. Roman Fjarda. He did laser on both of my eyes. It didn't help. Next I saw Dr. Jeffery Austin. He thought he knew what the problem was. I ended up at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. See did laser on both eyes. I now feel safe to drive at night. All 3 times with New Eyes, I had to go to the Green Valley surgery center. At Cleveland Clinic, he just walked out the door and brought in the laser machine and did the laser right then and there. One time I was 15 minutes late because I couldn't feel parking. Dr. Stafeva refused to see me, but another time I had to wait 2 hours for her. I never felt like I was a person there, but something on a production line. I wasted so much time with repeated visits. read more

Before leaving the office after an eye examination, I had to pay $47.37 as co-pay. I was surprised because Blue Shield for many years, has always required a co-pay of $35.00 for medical specialist consultation. I was told by the office personnel that it was because I did not fulfill my deductible yet. Surprisingly, my cardiologist husband just saw another ophthalmologist and paid $35.00 for the co-pay. After extensive inquiry from Blue Shield, I was advised that I should be reimbursed $12.37 (a 35% difference from the approved $35.00). The office indicated that they would credit the amount to my credit card. As of this writing, I have not seen the credit. My purpose in writing this is to advise every physician that irregular business practice of overcharging can filter down to tarnish the doctor's reputation. read more

7/3/2017 I was referred by a coworker to this office. I came to the office prepared, with paperwork filled out and 10 minutes early arrival. I wasn't greeted by anyone. I walked up to counter and a front desk girl asked what I needed without even looking my way. I told her I needed to sign in for an appointment. She lever looked away from her computer to speak to me. Ever. She spoke to me in a condescending tone, short and rude, again never looked at me. As I was in the middle of asking her a question, Nicole picked up a phone call and started having a conversation about Spanish calls with someone else. Nicole is rude! As I stood there being ignored, I figured I should sit as it was apparent that she was not going to bother with me. A few minutes later after she's done with her call, Nicole proceed to yell from the front counter into the lobby "I need to collect your copay!" I walked up and asked her her name, she could tell I was mad, Nicole actually looked my way! Imagine that! Extremely bad service. Very rude! Nicole needs better customer service skills or a new job where she doesn't deal with patients. As I sat and waited to be called back, I could hear the front desk ladies answering calls. They are rude, and speak to customers in a condescending tone. Very sad that the doctor probably doesn't know how rude the staff is. When I was brought back, doctor Fajardo was so nice and so was the tech that tests you for prescription. what a shame that Nicole, which is the first person one deals with us so rude. read more
