Nestled in a strip mall near Shoprite sits New China. I have ordered from them twice now. I am in love with their garlic beef. The beef is extremely tender and the sauce is delicious. It comes with green peppers, carrots, bamboo and pea pods. The shrimp roll was light and good. I wished for a bit more shrimp but it wasn't a deal breaker. Their hot and sour soup is flavorful and has just the right amount of heat. It came with the dry noodles as well. The lo mein didn't have as much flavor as I would like and it was pretty oily. The flavor improved with added soy sauce. The portion sizes are more than adequate. The delivery is always quick and the ingredients are always fresh. The food here is spot on. So far everything that I have tried is that classic American Chinese food taste, but still authentic. There's been a lot of Chinese places out on LI lately that have been seriously seriously lacking. Just all soy sauce and sugar like I'm eating at Panda Express. The only thing is that this place is also the most expensive Chinese food place I've been to. I eat Chinese takeout as a cheap meal, but for their increased prices I might as well eat at a restaurant or get some gastro tacos next door. Some coworkers and I ordered lunch from here today. What good food! It was easy to order, with an online ordering option and places to type special requests on every single item. Food arrived quickly and the delivery driver was very pleasant. I took a risk in ordering sesame chicken, which can be great if it's good, or inedible if not. It was delicious and prepared perfectly, with just enough breading so that it doesn't overpower the chicken. Sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and heat, and the fried rice was great, without any fatty pieces of roast pork. And the unexpected surprise was that the order came with a couple of cheese wontons free - those were so yummy too! Portions are beyond huge for take-out, they are not stingy with their food at all. Bad experience with the last 3 orders I placed for delivery. They first time my order came minus an order of chicken and broccoli. I called immediately and they said they would send the delivery guy back with it. I said, don't bother, by the time he gets back we'll be done eating! The second time, the delivery was 45 min late, and this third time I placed a large order on line for 6 o'clock. The delivery guy showed up at 4:45 and I refused the delivery. I told him I was having company at 6 o'clock which is why I requested it be delivered then. The store then called me and assured me it would be re-made and delivered at the proper time. I have had the luxury of eating at maybe 25-30 different Chinese food restaurants in my days on Long Island. This is the quality of a sit down restaurant but at the prices of take out. There is a friend I have who works at the board of health and this spot is known as always being very clean and their kitchen is always spotless at the end of each day. Also, the workers are extremely respectful and friendly. They haven't messed up my order once in about 50 orders. Bottom line is that this place is all-around very, very good. It's ok in a pinch situation but how many of those do you really come across with Chinese take out? I'ts not like there's not a place within 30 seconds of here and your famished to the point of death, there's much better places in the area in my opinion at least. I typically have found New China's food to be somewhat flavorful (lots of MSG), but also GREASY as sin and sometimes floating in oil! I can not get past the fact of the oil and this to me is a major turn off. Funny enough though the place cranks with business, I suppose they're doing something right, just not by me. read more

I am very picky about my Chinese food- but I have been very pleased with this place. The shrimp is large and usually deveined. The chicken is white meat. After we place our order, the food is steaming hot at our door within 20 minutes or less. I would definitely recommend this place to others. read more

Your typical stereotypical neighborhood Chinese joint. Food is never bad nor good. They have free give awats if u order big but they stopped letting people take their own duck sauce and other sauces. Only really bad thing is that this family uses their restaurant as a day care for their kids ages 2-7 which is crazy, its been going on for at least five tears and the kids run around and bother anyone that eats there BC their parents don't pay any attention to them, its kind of sad. Ordered food on 2/5/16, spent a lot of money to eat out. New China Restaurant was not good at all. First when I ordered food was not told that I would have to wait almost 2 hours for food.My grands and I sit down to eat and we had to take another 30 minutes to heat up food because it was cold. The food was poorly cooked.Very dry, no taste unless you doctor it up with condiments. Found out that they have owned the establishment for 6 months now. Very disappointed in the service that I've received from new owners.
