My coworker and I were both in the mood for chinese for lunch. This was the only place that offered delivery (Grubhub) by the time our early lunch break started. I got sesame chicken lunch combo with fried rice and an eggroll. It was nice and fresh. It didn't taste old or that it had been sitting there since last night. I'm not from Deer Park but were in the area because I had been shopping at the Tanger outlet. My kids wanted Chinese food for lunch and I'm not a fan of China Max located in the outlet. China Max's quality is low and they use too much sugar in their sauces. New Fortune House is a much better option and is about 10 minutes from the outlet. The owners were very sweet and considerate. We ate in the restaurant and they brought our food out to us and were just very kind when making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The decor of the restaurant is standard for take out Chinese so don't expect much. They have a good amount of seating which is convenient. The food came out hot and seemed relatively healthy to me. I didn't detect any MSG nor a heavy hand on the salt or sugar. I'm a vegetarian and ordered the massaman curry with tofu and brown rice. Tasty yet light and the ingredients were fresh. The portion was pretty large so I took half of it to go. My husband ordered General Tso's Chicken and the kids shared an order of Sesame Chicken. I had my real first delivery in the longest I could remember tonight, probably the shortest turn around time I have for review as well. Because of the snowy and icy road I vied for getting delivery than risking driving out in the dark since I suck driving in the snow. They have a pretty good ordering website and the delivery came just as expected I didn't have to wait long at all especially in this weather I was impressed with their speedy delivery Anyway to my surprise this place was actually pretty good for a casual chinese food place. Their food tasted bit lighter so I think they aren't using MSG as they says on their menu which is gave me a slightly healthy feeling for getting Chinese food delivery haha. The portions were huge and most of the orders are under $10. Its definitely enough for at least two meals. Plus they have free delivery within 3 miles radius that I was luckily to be inside the circle :) I got two entrees to try out with plenty of leftovers for many future meals to come. The chicken with veggie was pretty good, quite light and not overly salty that I usually see at chinese fast food places. The tofu I thought would be more like mapo tofu but turned out to be firmer tofu in chili sauce.. not as great as I had anticipated but really for the price its good enough for a very fulfilling meal. Of the different Chinese food places I have tried around Deer Park, New Fortune is by far the best in my opinion. The only downside is that it's parking lot could use some work, the parking lines are all faded and there's a large hole near one of the entrances to the lot. The restaurant itself is very clean and the owners/staff is very polite/nice. I have been there twice and have no complaints. The food is great, a step up from some of the surrounding places and the wait times are fairly short. All in all, I'll be coming back. read more

All vegetables are cooked well (still crisp) and there is flavor without the undesirable "head pressure" I tend to get when I eat salty Chinese food loaded with MSG. Didn't try delivery as the first time I get food I pick up to check the cleanliness out. They were on point. Fast friendly service and generous portions. ONE HOUR later i called and told them i had to cancel because we didn't have time to eat. Made sure to tell them that its ok, mistakes happen but they wouldn't let me cancel????
