    Cold biscuit and gravy side

I've got to say, probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Tacoma. My friend and I wanted to support a women-owned local business, she had eaten at New Frontier once before. The restaurant is near Freighthouse Square in the industrial area of Tacoma. Street parking only. The restaurant has a cool vibe- it was a sunny day, so the garage door was open- which unfortunately brought in a ton of flies- it was so unappetizing. We came at noon- ordered brunch. To order, you need to brave your way to the crowd at the bar, and try to get the attention of the one or two girls working. So this means, coffee refills, table service-non-existent. After ordering, we sat for over an hour waiting for our breakfast. Not a single acknowledgement. After waiting forever (no, it was not busy enough to justify this), the waitress brought me one biscuit, and COLD gravy. Everything was ice cold. Then I eventually received the rest of my order. BUT, even though my order was ready, it was another 10 minutes before my friend received her breakfast. Her breakfast came screwed up- missing hash browns, missing toast- "oh, we are out of that". Such a disgrace pf a restaurant- you honestly felt like you were a burden eating here. Don't waste your time- go find a place that cares about your business.

    Nice stage at New Frontier!

New Frontier I believe has been a around for a while and I never paid much attention to it when I was in the Tacoma Dome District. But I saw signage recently at a favorite coffee shop of mine for where events were located here and I became intrigued to go check the place out. And I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I really enjoyed my first visit to New Frontier and had a couple beers and relaxed. They have the typical bar food and I enjoyed that too. I had a cheese burger with french fries which were very good! The fries were cooked just right and the burger tasted great and needed no condiments at all. Service was friendly and prompt and they have a good selection of craft beers on tap and are fully equipped for mixed drinks too. I may come back as early as next weekend to have another meal here... it's in the plan!

First time I've ever been to this venue and I was very impressed! The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and last night. There were two bands that played and it was so much fun and the place was packed for a Wednesday night. It was a good evening in Tacoma! I highly recommend this place

This place has definitely had a glow up! Food, atmosphere and staff are all great improvements. We had the smash burger and the frito pie dog. We were splitting everything and the kitchen did it all for us which was unexpected. If you want a good smash burgers and a menu with variation this is a great place. I generally go during the day which is nice unless you need to do some remote work, the trains are continuous. The food was great, the service was amazing, love the drinks. It was nice having the option to sit outside. They have a cool projector that usually has an alt cult classic on it. The vibe is nice.

    Stopping in for some food!

I finally made it! I know a lot of friends who come in for the music, but I've also heard the food is really good, and it is! New Frontier Lounge looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside, but is quite cute inside. The bartender/server was very friendly and the bar is very relaxed. They had numerous beers on tap, as well as a full bar and quite an extensive menu. Initially I was going to try the black bean burger, being vegetarian, and that they make it in house. Last minute I decided to try the hummus plate. Oh my gosh! Fantastic! I actually think this may be one of the best hummus plates I've ever had. They also make the hummus. My partner got the grilled chicken sandwich with tots. He said it was delicious. It does come with Frontier sauce on it, and although he said it was pretty good, he thought he might skip that or get it on the side the next time. I tried his tots and those were delicious, as well, and I'm not even a tot fan. Definitely a great experience. Can't wait to come back and try The Greenbelt sandwich, the black bean burger, and the Greek salad. Thanks for an awesome experience.

Went to new frontier under the new ownership. Everything was absolutely superb. The tomato bisque was a little bit too much like tomato paste, but everything else was top-notch. The service was fast and great. The bartenders were very nice and checked on us often, the ambience was awesome as usual, as it still looks like the "old" new frontier. Can't wait to go back.

Decent dive bar with live music. The bartenders tend to be a little sloppy and overwhelmed at times. All in all. A-OK.

A friend of mine said they had brunch here, I believe. I looked at the website, but I don't see brunch. Any ideas?

We are doing brunch on seahawk game days when there is an early game, we have a limited staff, so as we grow back we will have a more regular brunch, thanks for inquiring

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. Patio seating is nice on sunny days like today. 5/5 for a hometown spot in the neighborhood.

The cook should check the soup pot on a regular basis to ensure that the chowder is hot and ensure that the fish is at least 135 degrees and let it warm up to over 140 degrees before serving. I got a great cocktail... very well crafted! But after going to look at the menu when writing the review to get the precise name of it I couldn't find it. So it may not be available. It sounds like they shift out their cocktail menu from time to time so it definitely changes. The food menu is great! It's rare where they have a nachos section on the menu. Section? As in getting different ones? Yes, you can get all kinds of different nachos here which makes it a lot of fun and it's intriguing to see what kind of different spin on nachos you can get here. We split and shared the Fiesta Verde nachos which has corn, Oaxaca Cheddar sauce, cotija, green onions, sour cream, Queso Fresco and green sauce. They also are known for different kinds of corn dishes and baked potatoes. We continued to share with something off of their baked potato section and got the Dude which had a diced roasted chicken breast in a Chipotle-Lime-Honey Beef Consommé, cheese curds, cotija, shaved radish and green onions. The food was great and I really appreciated the menu being so unique. The atmosphere is cool too with all of the mirrored bubbles above the wall and front entrance. It's a really cool vibe and I recommend it.

From the outside to the inside, the place has a stylish black theme that gives it a modern and cozy atmosphere. There was even a pinball machine near the entrance, which added a fun touch to the vibe. The restaurant had both counter seating and tables with chairs, and since there were four of us, we sat comfortably at a table. Both the female and male staff members were friendly, attentive, and very efficient throughout our visit. Since I'm not a fan of alcohol, I chose a mocktail called "XXX," while others enjoyed the Wildside Punch Cocktail and other drinks. For food, we ordered the Queen Beans, The Marley, and Sweet Leaf Salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We finished with the tiramisu, which was absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to our meal. The atmosphere, service, and food all came together for a wonderful experience. I would definitely love to come back again!

The bartender seemed irritated we were there as a group, despite it being incredibly empty at 5:30pm. She seemed annoyed at my friend needing to double check her order on the online menu? My spouse went up to order at the bar and was apparently waiting in the incorrect spot but she ignored them, made no move to correct them or ask them to move to the register until after someone else went up to order. One of my friends went up to place their order and she just stared at them and didn't say anything. She never once greeted us as we entered or spoke kindly/professional to any of us. Despite happily greeting and speaking to several other people who arrived after us. I could have excused the poor service if the bar was super busy/hectic but it was so early in the day and there were maybe 3 other pairings of people in there... My friends and I are all younger and somewhat queer looking. I was under the impression this was a somewhat queer friendly place but it certainly didn't feel that way. I don't know for sure if that's what it was but it felt like there was some sort of prejudice from the moment we walked in. We were not welcomed there regardless. The food was pretty good, and drinks were fine. The service alone was so hostile and uncomfortable I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here.
