My second check-in because my first one was misspelled! Be wary of speaking into your phone. Margherita!
    Laura H.

We went to Parky's yesterday and tried the Margherita pizza. Wow! It was fantastic! The dough is unbelievable. It was chewy and so tasty. The toppings seem really fresh. The time before, my pizza was a little crispy for my liking, but this one was so good. I'm not sure if they changed the recipe or if it was just made differently, but It was a great pizza. Also, the bartender eas super sweet! Stop in here!

Simple pizza menu, great food and service, definitely worth coming here. Staff are so friendly and I actually appreciated them taking their time making their Italian pizza, it was fire!

It's a dive bar. No it's not. Well yes it is, kind of. No really it's just a really local joint to meet friends. I typically do not talk "food" as I am very much NOT a foodie but damn they have great pizzas and maybe even better salads. They both kick ass. When you walk in your first impression might suggest that you turn around and leave, but if you do you are going to miss out. The design is almost oxymoronic in that it "smells" like a dive but "looks" like something more...so it ain't no "Duck" if you're following my cliche' reference. In the main room check out the really nice wood slab lighting fixtures that are not dive-esk. Then give yourself a treat and wander out back to the back patio and courtyard with its pool tables, fire pit, more seating and an overall cool vibe. Since being introduced to this place by a very good friend, we have already gone 3 times in under a months time with one occasion being my birthday. My decision to return for my B-day

This is the third time Ive tried this place and I throughly wanted to give them as many stars as I could due to the super friendly service. However, where this *friendly pizza joint falls short is the food. Something is just missing... missing in taste... missing in quality of ingredients... and missing in presentation. That's not say its bad, its totally tasty if your nearby or stop in for a drink and want to grab a cheap pizza. One thing that I would change here is the ingredients. The meats are "meh", the veggies are standard, and the dough is "alright." I think that the Tipsy Tomato in Tacoma's Oakland area is a way better tasting pie in nearly every category.

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. First he started making it under the counter, which I don't like, then it had a few inches left, he put a lime on the rim and moved the glass. I thought to put more ice in. Then he started adding something from the gun into it. I said mid-shoot,"what is that???" He told me it was club soda and when I asked WHY??? he didn't flinch and told me that that was a lot of redbull. I'm sorry, when did bartenders start making decisions for people, let alone without asking them???? I'm flabbergasted. Guessing this is his first gig as a tender. But still. WTAF???? Then! Came over to offer us menus. Took them to see if anything had changed, more of an opportunity to go back up to the bar. Friend asked for an NA, he said he would look for a domestic but kept trying to sell him on IPAs after he said no thanks on those. He comes over asking how we are doing, offers a refill of water. Comes back with club soda, turned around after a bit and said oh hey I think that's club soda. I said yeah, he interrupts me to say well it's just water with bubbles in it. Like we are idiots and should just keep it. We both said he can't do it, throat cancer, etc. so he acquiesces. So weird. I decide to order one more just to see what happens cuz at this point I wonder if I'm on a hidden camera show. I'll have one more please Ok, what was it? Vodka redbull tall Then he throws out my seasoned ice and straw Brings it over to me and says see? It's just a lot of redbull. It doesn't fill it up all the way. It's like it needs more ice. Recently stopped in here for a date night with the wife…read more We've been looking for a decent replacement ever since Tacoma lost the Rhein Haus. Since my wife is of German heritage, brats and kraut are a thing in our life. The menu here looked really good, so we stopped in our 29th anniversary. I will say, there is a parking lot across the street. For those who've been in the area for a while and remember past times, it used to be a used car lot Luckily I found an empty spot on the street right out front, so I grabbed it. But yeah, parking in this area can be tricky. Just be aware that there is the lot across the street on Puyallup Avenue, the entrance is from "Court A", which looks like an alley but is technically a road. Tacoma is fun like that. So let's talk food. We ordered the Brätzel, because my wife loves a good soft pretzel with some beer cheese. This one states that it's a beer cheese soup, and it was a bit thinner than a typical beer cheese. But it had a really good flavor. It was not gritty at all like some beer cheese can be (I'm looking at you Hops&Drops). I'm not a huge pretzel fan, but I will say that I tried a portion of it and enjoyed this one. The pretzel had a good flavor and the beer cheese soup was great. We also split the Landjäger / Käse Platte. Let's get one thing clear, this thing is bigger than it looks on the menu. There's a lot here. I'm really not sure exactly which of the four cheese were which. If you go by the description on the Käse Platte then it should be Bavaria Bleu Crème, Raclette, Emmentaler and Butterkäse. The Bleu Crème is easy to spot. The rest look similar really. But each had a unique flavor and all tasted absolutely wonderful. The cured beef and pork sausages were good, but the cheese stole the show here. We also shared the Berliner Platte for a main. Again, I can not stress this enough, there is A LOT of food here. the two of us had no chance of eating all this. This plate comes with the following sausages; Berliner Bratwurst, Smoked Cheese, Spicy Cheese, Chicken Andouille & Bockwurst as well as being served with sauerkraut and you get to pick two sides. We chose the Spätzle and Pommes (fries). All of this was amazing. The spicy sausage and the andouille were too spicy for my wife, but we knew that going in. If you have a group and are wanting to sample the many wursts here, I would highly recommend this plate. Now, let's talk service. I don't remember our server's name, but she was so great. Very friendly, very tentative, very good at her job. This was exactly the kind of service I look for when I go out to a restaurant. I don't want some tablet where I'm interacting with a faceless machine, I don't want a kiosk, I want a real person who engages with us and helps make our experience the best it can be, and this place gets it. The staff here is on point, they are good, they take good care of you and the experience made s want to come back. This place is for sure at the top of our list for German food here in Tacoma. If you have not been, you need to stop by. It's not big, it's not fancy, you'll drive right by it if you aren't paying attention. But this place is by far the perfect replacement for our missing sausage haus. We are so glad we stopped in.

As we arrived, we weren't sure if needed to seat ourselves but by the time we were about to look at a sign, a kind waitress let us know that we can seat ourselves anywhere and brought us menus. I saw that they had tables with fires which was really cool but unfortunately there were a lot of people sitting there so we just sat at the longer tables. The interior of this place is huge and bright! They have plenty of seating inside and it looks like they do outdoor seating which is dog friendly. We were told that they will have days where they have musicians playing German music and that it attracts quite a large crowd. Our waitress Sara was hilarious, personable and did a great job of taking care of us. She really made the visit all the more memorable and fun! We did order a lot: Berliner Platter with chips and spatzle, Berliner Sliders with fries and a bratzel. We did not realize just how huge the portions were for everything, like the platter was going to be big but we weren't expecting the amount of food for other order. Everything tasted absolutely amazing though! We really enjoyed everything and they do not mess around with flavors cause you taste exactly what they advertised. The house made chips were also fantastic and probably some of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend and I are excited to return and definitely will be sharing this spot to others as we thought we had to drive to Leavenworth for good German food but it is closer to home than we thought!

Most of the cocktails are some combination of rum, spices, lime/lemon, and maybe something else fruity or sweet. My wife had a Ships from Far Shores while I enjoyed an Astro Orbiter. Their menu has an indicator of how strong each drink is, and it doesn't lie. The Astro Orbiter tasted great but was indeed quite strong. The staff were extremely polite and a pleasure to talk to.
