It's difficult to review a chain store because they are basically all the same. The difference…read moreusually comes down to employees and store management. This one has the right combination. We preorder a lot of collectibles and have had more than our fair share of failing to call us when the articles come in. At best it's frustrating, at worse we miss a limited edition item. We were at Coronado Mall and stopped by to see what was in stock. The manager came up to us asked what we were looking for and let us know what was available for preorder. We explained our hesitancy with that and she assured us that letting people know when their stuff arrives is top priority. Ok let's give it a shot. So we ordered, paid the deposit and waited. When it came in we got a phone call, and the next time and the time after that. She's been true to her word. So this is now my go to. It's to the point where we walk in she's got the latest preorders and knows the phone number for our account. Reliability and great customer service gets the 5 every time. The stocks and preorders are the same. It's the employees that made the difference.

The owner is a foul human being with a bad case of little-man syndrome, who barely knows the rules of a game he's claimed to play for over 15 years. The knowledgeability of the staff is laughable; there is maybe one judge out of the entire employee ensemble. For a store that focuses on ONE card game, you'd think that they'd at least have a handle on the concept of it. Realistically, you're guaranteed a better atmosphere, a better community, and better prices at any other game shop in the area: Active Imagination, Twin Suns...hell, even Walmart gives these clowns a run for their money.

After the employee went through my video games, the manager stuck a camera in my face that was connected to the computer, saying "it's city ordinance to take a photo with a trade in." I told them I am not comfortable with having my photo taken and that this was the first time I was ever asked for a photo for a trade-in. After picking up my video games to leave, I recommended that at the beginning of a trade-in transaction to notify the customer that there will be a need for a photo. When I made that suggestion, the manager with red hair replied aggressively and very rudely. I walked out dissatisfied. That will be my last time to that location. I do NOT recommend this store. The employees should be held accountable to a standard that doesn't involve harassing paying customers. Zero stars.
