We loved the food…read more Came here on a saturday for lunch before the world cup. We arrived just when it opened I think. The place was pretty quiet. Friendly waitress greeted us and sat us immediately. Menu's came out and they recommended a pizza and burger. We agreed and ordered. Place started to pick up and get busy immediately after we ordered. Food came out pretty quickly. We each had a burger. Not a lot of options on the menu but we all tried the emily burger. It was worth it. Think, juicy and with an amazingly unique taste. The ingredients were high quality, the burger cooked to perfection. The table also split the modern pizza (I think). Not sure what to expect from this one but turns out it was perfect, unique and delicious. The cheese taste really shined through. Overall, we were super happy with the food here. Stop by if you have a chance.

Greetings all, it's been a while but here I am. Let's talk about Emily a quant pizza restaurant…read morethat you could easily walk pass and not know what they sold. Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. That's all for now, see you on my next review.

When we walked in, we got the warmest welcome from her. Her name is Debbie. I have a 10yrs old also and she immediately started having a conversation with her. When she sat us in the dinning room, she let us know there were 2 servers for the night with a 1 bus boy. She mentioned them by name and I loved that. We were attended to by Keith. He was such a gem. He recommended so really great choices for us. This is what we had. For drinks, my husband and my son had the Red Hook which they loved. I don't drink so I had the Captain Jack Mocktail. Appetizers- Seafood Tower and Rhode Island Calamari. OMG the calamari is a must try. It has a little kick but you will thank me later. I little heat never hurt nobody. Dinner- we all shared the Gala Apple Salad, Porter House, Linguini and Clams, Lundy's Potatoes, and Mac and Cheese. Dessert- The Butterscotch Sundae my daughter hogged, and the Lundy's Huckleberry Pie. Now let me tell you. I do not eat huckleberry pie, but that one, I could not believe how tasty. The crust was hard and sweet and the filling had the right flavor. Not too sweet or tart. All throughout dinner my husband and my son kept saying how great the food was. It was truly amazing and the service was great, with only 3 working and staying attentive to several tables. I would definitely come back. Maybe for a girls night next time.

The service is impeccable, the wait staff is well versed in the menu and will offer help if you don't know how to truly get the best sandwich that you can. The star here is the roast beef sandwich, it's moist and flavorful and cooked absolutely perfectly. My suggestion is to order it with cheese and have it dunked in the au jus. I prefer what they call a "knife and fork job" where the sandwich, the meat the bread is all dunked and comes out in a river of au jus. They make amazing sides, I typically go for the onion rings and corn fritters which are tasty, fried nugget of sweet corn and they are delicious. Do note, they only take cash and sometimes it takes a while to get your food but in the end it is so very worth it.

Curious about the "famous" Brooklyn roast beef war -- yeah! it's a thing! -- T and I decided to see for ourselves. (Once I try the competition I'll weigh in with my vote.) With a reputation built on beef we ignored other options and researched how to order. You can get double dip, "dingle-dangle" (don't ask), cheese/no cheese ... it was confusing. We both went with rare roast beef, cheese and onions. T asked for his double-dipped in gravy. Yum! Short of five stars, but yum nonetheless. We ordered two unhealthy sides which added to the decadence of our lunch: corn fritters and onion rings. If you only get one, go with the fritters. The place is busy. You'll likely have to wait a bit -- but I found it interesting to watch the guys at the counter work. Service was friendly and attentive. Unlike someone's comment about paying blind -- not so. We were given a check with an accurate breakdown of what we ordered. Prices are posted. And yes -- cash only.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. The bottoms were so crispy, it was almost like it was a layer of potato chip! Really great texture, and the fish meat was cooked to perfection. Really sad that they're closing, but looking forward to whatever the chef/restaurant team does next!

It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

The fried calamari could've been less oily, as this took away from the crunch; also slightly overcooked. Baked clams were decent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pizza was great! The salmon over hash brown , was lacking a touch of something , couldn't pinpoint what was lacking. Chicken and waffles, decent, wasn't the best I've had. Service- jonathan was our waiter during brunch and also our bartender. He's GREAT! During service dinner, we had a female waitress and I felt she lacked attention to details and couldn't flag her down when we wanted something. Overall, service is a hit or miss , I guess? Our server Sam was really knowledgeable and gave us a lot of recommendations. We ended up going with all of his favorites which were the sugar snap peas, the bigeye tuna and gnocco fritto, white asparagus and soked sablefish, the soft-boiled egg and blue crab and finally the steelhead trout. Sam was wonderful to also suggest us really delicious, salty, fresh and wild white wines to pair with our dishes. Everything we had were perfectly cooked with bold flavors. I could definitely taste the care and detail put into every dish. For the smoked sablefish dish, the sauce was so delicious, we asked for some toasted in-house sourdough to soak it up. The pavolva dessert at the end with the surprise paired wine was the perfect ending. I can see why this restaurant is well loved and feel very lucky and grateful that we could have an opportunity to dine here. Thank you so much Sam and team for a wonderful time! On my second visit, the thoughtfully designed space felt just as inviting. We sampled the rest of the menu after loving everything last time. Standouts included: Delicate Long Island fluke, perfectly portioned for sharing Squid ink deviled eggs - so good we ordered them again Deceptively simple lobster rice, bursting with flavor Revelatory yellow fin tuna - I'd return just for this The mackerel's fishiness may polarize, but the skin's easily removed for milder tastes. Desserts shone, from the millefeuille to cherry panna cotta with contrasting jellied top and luscious pudding beneath. Only quibble: a spoon would serve the panna cotta better than a fork for scooping every drop. When we asked, they graciously brought one, even noting they should consider always doing so. Reservations are scarce for good reason - Four Horsemen is a gem. I'll gladly vie for a table again to see what other creative dishes emerge from this kitchen. With just a bit more attention to small details like cutlery pairings, it would earn that final star.

It has the kind of cozy neighborhood vibe that makes you want to relax and savor your meal. Our server, Annie S., was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and very easy to talk to. Her service struck the perfect balance and truly enhanced our experience. We shared the Sailor Gin Martini, which was beautifully chilled, bright, aromatic, and finished with a lovely dry note. It was refreshing and absolutely delicious. For our appetizer, we shared the quiche. It was so good that we completely forgot to take a photo before finishing it! For our entrées, I ordered the cod and my husband had the burger without the bun. The cod was honestly one of the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. The pea purée that accompanied it was equally delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger, and I couldn't resist helping myself to some of his fries, which were excellent as well. We ordered two appetizers with distinctive sauces, and when our plates weren't cleared after the first course, we made what I thought was a very reasonable request for fresh plates. That simple request seemed to send our server over the edge. At a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect fresh plates and silverware to be brought automatically between courses. Instead, the staff insisted that we keep using the same silverware throughout the meal. Later in the evening, I sat with an empty cocktail glass for quite a while. I tried making eye contact with our server, who appeared to avoid our table by turning her back and refusing to look over. I suspect she noticed me in her peripheral vision because she abruptly said, "I'll be with you in just a moment." I wasn't waving her down or trying to interrupt her. I simply wanted a wine list, which could have been dropped off in seconds for me to browse while she continued helping other tables. Instead, after I asked, she prioritized several other tasks before eventually bringing it over. At one point, my friends joked that "the food is great in Brooklyn, but the service is rude." That honestly made me sad to hear because it doesn't reflect the Brooklyn I've known over the past 14 years. I've always found it to be warm and welcoming. I'm not sure what happened to Sailor, but this experience couldn't have been more different from my first visit, as reflected in my previous review. Before dismissing this as someone being overly critical, it's worth noting that I worked in the service industry for 17 years. I know restaurants get busy, and I don't expect perfection. But basic hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism should still be part of the experience, especially at a restaurant of this quality.
