The campsite was clean and quiet and the facilities were cleaned each morning and evening which is important with this many people using the facilities. The arcade and mini golf is really sub par so don't expect much here with this and the pool at the rec center is pretty small with hundreds of little children there. The facility is right around the corner from the Cavendish boardwalk with food and shopping and about a half a mile from Cavendish beach. If you are looking for an inexpensive option for camping with the family then this is your spot.

There was absolutely no privacy. And the campers had clotheslines, bikes, and stuff everywhere! There was a soccer tournament on the island the weekend we were there, and the grassy parking lot by the pool was packed--kids bringing "guests" from their teams. At one point, I counted 27 cars parked outside the gate by the pool. The pool is small, the buildings dilapidated, and the rules on how to manage garbage/recycling/composting was ridiculous. They advertise a path to the beach--HA! Not a beach. A tiny patch of dirt on an inland waterway which stunk like fish and garbage. Do NOT recommend.

The…read moreMermaid and the Cow is the only LGBT campground in Atlantic Canada, and maybe it's the only one we need! Jane and Susan are lovely and hospitable, and have thought of everything. There are four non-gendered full bathrooms, a pool, a huge screened-in gazebo for mosquito-y nights, a variety of campsites, running water taps throughout, and a firepit at each site. On our first night, there was a terrible rainstorm, so Jane and Susan had the brilliant idea of a fun movie night in the screened-in gazebo, which meant we didn't feel bad about not being able to have a campfire. Happily, the rest of the weekend was perfect weather, so we could swim, watch the cows and horses, and explore the area. If the Keurig coffee isn't enough, you're about half an hour from either Tatamagouche or Pictou, both of which have sweet cafes and restaurants. Just down the road there is also Deb's Hidden Cafe, which serves as a store, a bar, a diner and a bakery!

It wasent even worth it cuz its all chunky and didn't taste like chocolate at all. Overall disappointed but it was still fairly cheap so i don't really care.
