I literally HATE trying new restaurants on Delivery Service apps, and place like THIS are the reason why. My son wanted burgers, and I came on yelp to check the reviews, and aside from the low reviews based on wait time, etc, the food seemed to get good reviews. So I decided to get the Classic Cheeseburger, Spicy Chipotle Burger, and Spicy Chicken sandwich. They all came with fries, and the Chipotle one I got half fry/half onion rings instead. When they arrived, they ALL had bacon on them when the only one on the menu with bacon listed was the chicken sandwich. I don't eat pork bacon, but my son does, so this ruined MY meal because I had to pull the whole sandwich apart to get the bacon off because it was attached to the small piece of cheese melted on. Peppers & onions now a big blob of a mess. The onion rings weren't fresh. They were frozen onion rings, hard and stale, and the fries were soggy and bland. The meat patties were smaller than the bread, so you have 3/4 of your meat on one half, and the other 4th on the other bread creating an uneven burger. Same for the chicken sandwich. There was barely any cheese, the patties were cooked super well. I mean there was really nothing about this place, other than the delivery was on time. I would never order from here again, and if it weren't for my son being super hungry because we hadn't eaten since breakfast and it being 7:30pm, I would have sent the entire thing back. Awesome local bar with KILLER wings, get the new heights sauce. Rented an airbnb down the street and we were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the bartender and locals as the surrounding area gets a little rough at night. Wings are so good we came here twice, first time was during happy hour and the atmosphere was casual. Came back again on a Friday night and it was a packed house with music blasting and people having a good time. Shoutout to the owner as well! They had a yelp offer for free wings with check-in but they stopped offering it. The bar tender told me I could ask the owner who we happened to sit next to and he offered us hennesey shots instead. Talk about hole in the wall dive bar.....this place is not for everyone...there is no thrills or frills to the decor either.....just think of ultimate dive bar.....but LOVED it...my friend recommend this spot after we left another on due to lack of hookah....... Nothing and I mean nothing special about this place but ONE thing and I will get to that later. As all yelpers know you are eager to check-in to establishments to see if they have any check-in offers. Lucky for me New Heights did! A free drink or 4 wings for free. I show it to bartender and she says she has to ask her manager because she's never seen that before. Ok no problem. She walks back into the kitchen and comes back with no response. Asked her a second time and she says she has to call the manager. My friend at this point then asks if the manager is on site and she says no(must be nice to manage remotely but I digress). So we order our food wings, fries and drinks. Wing special is 50cents a wing but you must order at least 10(4-8pm) and drinks are $3 (4-11pm). We order a total of 40 wings, 4 drinks and one order of fries. Bartender says the total is $67! Uhm yea no try that again! She comes back with a number still not right. So now we walk her through it: wings- $20, drinks- $12, and fries- $4. Total of *drumroll please* $36 + tax! (By the way it's a minimum charge of $20 on the card which is illegal by the way.) And she goes "oooohhh *makes up some dumb excuse about the system that didn't make any sense*". Now that finances are squared away we are waiting for our food. My two friends wings come out and I have to wait an additional FIFTEEN MINUTES for mine? Like huh? We ordered the same time, we are together, therefore we should get our food relatively closely. No the case here. She gave me two different excuses as to why my food wasn't coming out. I ordered 5 fried wings, 5 Bbq wings and 5 buffalo wings (heads up all wings are fried before sauce is put on). The fried and Bbq wings were amazing. Buffalo not so much. Would I be back again, prolly just for an order of wings to go and then I'm out. Last night after cleaning stuff out of my apartment all day (I'm leaving New York next week) I had the idea to stop for a visit. The place serves generous portions of comfort food so good, it made me laugh. Really, I was tipsy and smiling wide as I cut up piping hot chicken with plastic utensils, playing with the cheese - and for only $10, including just-as-laughably good Fettuccine Alfredo, mac 'n cheese and broccoli. If you're looking for a fancy flatbread or some other bougie appetizer (or ceramic plates) check out Franklin Avenue. Cool bartenders, good people, a couple TVs for sports (the Yankees taking the field is always a nice backdrop), I had such a warm, loving conversation about life with the lady next to me. Our conversation centered on community, on family, how people around here look out for each other. "Neighborhood bar" is a great way to describe this place. Visited New Heights on Tuesday 1-16-18. Its a local neighborhood bar. Pros: i was there for $2 Tuesday the special lasts from 4 to 9pm the drinks were good not watered down at all. The food was hot fresh and tasty. The atmosphere and vibe were good it was a mature crowd of mostly afterwork people enjoying themselves. I would absolutely go back. Cons: don't sit at the bar because its like being outside. It was REALLY cold. The bartenders are pleasant but there are not enough of them. The place draws a nice size crowd so its busy they need more staff to handle the volume. We literally waited over an hour for our food and drinks. I think if they hire more staff that they would get more business. Overall. As long as your not starving and have the patience to wait for you order definitely go and check it out. Talk about a hole in the wall; I play softball across the street every other Sunday for the past three years and never notice New Height Bar and Grill. After the game was over on Sunday, we walked into the New Height bar as our car was parked in front of the restaurant. Bartender Trina was freaking awesome she recommended Henny Punch; don't sleep on it after two, you will feel it. Wings what can i say best wings i have eaten in a while season well. I won't do that again.. I guess I should start with a better set up than that. I cant speak for the actual bar or ambiance of the place since this review is for delivery. I found a flier by my car for this restaurant and remembered it while home one evening trying to decide what to order for dinner. I looked up their menu on line and was excited to see that they had buffalo wings- "Yes, I was craving those!" With the advice of a friend ringing in my ear (always be suspicious of ordering buffalo wing for delivery from ANY place, they always show up soggy), I decided to order the buffalo wings and a side entree just In case this place failed on me. Besides, there was a minimum that I needed to hit anyway. In addition to the buffalo wings I ordered an entree: grilled calamari, Mac n' cheese and collard greens. The woman that answered the phone was friendly and the delivery time was decent- delivery guy showed up within a 5 minute window to the time given on the phone. That was great. Delivery guy shows up, rings the bell and though I buzzed him in, he never came in. I later found out this was because he had his bicycle with him. Uhmm if I felt like opening the door to crosswinds, I may have gone out to eat. No biggie, well not really I guess. The rundown on the food- not so good. Mac n' cheese that only has cheese as the top layer- fail- I didn't order plain macaroni noodles with a spritz of cheese, collard greens and calamari were ok, and buffalo wings...where do I start!?! The buffalo wings were in a sauce that was sweet like ketchup. It may have even been ketchup. We had a good time at this spot. The music and the sound system was good (but dare I say, maybe a little too loud?) and they played a nice mix of popular and classic hip-hop and reggae. The bar staff was no-nonsense but friendly and attentive. There is a nice outside sitting area that is covered by an awning so we didn't get wet in the rain. The highlight of this place was the food. We only had appetizers but they had some of the best wings and sweet potato fries I've had in a long while. I had to stop myself from ordering more food by promising myself to come back and see if it was actually the food or the free shots the bartender gave us that influenced my decision. ZERO STARS WARNING! Do not go here! I worked here for one evening and during that evening I labored in the false belief that it was a reputable establishment. They have a backroom where the employees may store their possessions. At the end if my shift I was dead tired and more than ready to go home, so I did and went straight to sleep. The next day I check my purse and find my wallet, phone charger, and headphones to be missing. I didn't use any off them when I was in the bar (or left the bar) and had all of them before I started my shift. It's outrageous to think that either the employees stole my items, or that the bar's policy is so lax that they let just about everyone access the backroom. read more

If i could give this establishment a negative amount of stars I most definitely would. This establishment has by far been the absolute worst when it comes to professionalism and decency. I decided to use this venue to host my 26th birthday gathering. Not only was I overcharged which was later corrected, at one point I had to send the owner a screenshot to prove that i had made a deposit more than a month prior. In addition to this, 2 hours before my event, i was notified by TEXT that the room had been double booked and as a result I was told that my gathering would be displaced. I demanded a portion of my money back which was reluctantly given. I was told that I would have the back area to myself, aside from ppl walking through to get to the other event. When I arrived this was not at all the case. Upon my arrival I had to wait for my money to be refunded to me!! There were several ppl there throughout the night that did not belong to either event. In addition to this, ppl from the other event were constantly flooding into my area. My cake which needed to be refrigerated was also turned away from the kitchen. The next day I contacted the owner again to express my unhappiness. I explained my concerns and his response was "50 is the best I can do". This infuriated me for several reasons. For one, i paid 200 for a public space which would have been there regardless. Secondly the accommodations that i was told were not upheld. And lastly, i was literally given 2 hours notice, leaving me with no choice but to accept the bullshit offer. I explained to owner in depth why I believed he should give me back more money than 50 bucks and he never responded! I had to follow up with the owner once again today to inquire about my refund. I even asked him when he would be there, as he was absent throughout every portion of this process. I showed up at the time he provided and still wasn't able to meet with him. Instead as per usual, i had to deal with someone else who knew nothing of the situation. With no explanation of his absence, I was given 50 dollars and sent along my way. I never got a chance to speak with him which was in my opinion absolutely disgusting of him. This has by far the absolute worst business transaction I've ever had to deal with in my life. The spot is cool . The food was good my only problem was the hookah . We ordered a hookah and the hookah was done in less than 20 minute and we payed almost 30 dollars . I spoke the "owner " and he basically told me what do I want him to to do. I want you to tell me why my hookah is done in less than 20 minutes . Jimmy the bartender is great. Super nice makes drinks fast and strong. Since its a Monday it was a bit slow but that's expected since it's Monday. Very clean establishment.
