    Revise steak frites

We had a lovely dinner here last night with great service and attention. The host, the server and attendant were all so friendly and prompt. I did the restaurant week special and started with the beet carpaccio and my husband had the fried mushrooms. The beet salad could've used more dressing and goat cheese and was rather boring. The mushrooms had a lot of batter and were plain but the sauces they came with were incredibly good. For dinner I had the ribeye steak frites, which was very tender and delicious. My husband had the kale and vegetable paella and he said it was good but not great. We ended the evening with the peach cobbler, which I was really looking forward to, but it was quite disappointing... lots of peaches, but not much cobbler and a very little portion of ice cream. The restaurant itself is quite plain, but overall we had a very nice experience and will definitely try it again. It would be nice if they had more vegetarian options for my husband. They also have a cute outside patio on the first floor, but it was too hot for us yesterday, but would love to try it another time.

We tried this restaurant as they participate in the InKind platform. We were very surprised at how much we enjoyed having dinner here. The food is reasonably priced, the service is good, and the space is on the simpler classy end of the spectrum. While I don't think there is a dress code, I'd feel uncomfortable eating upstairs in shorts. Perhaps, this is a possibility in the outdoor patio area or the bar on the ground level. I ordered the Borscht (my first experience with this dish) and Brussels Sprouts. Both were tasty (and healthy)! My companion ordered the roasted chicken, and the review was similarly stellar. The main restaurant dining area is located on the second floor (above Open City). The outdoor patio, entrance, and first floor bar are tucked away to the right of Open City. I look forward to returning and trying other items off the menu.

Solid happy hour. Love the almost extinct $1 oyster happy hour deal. Small bar, but wasn't crazy crowded on a Thursday.

We had a great dinner here! Server was attentive and we were not rushed. All of the cocktails were delicious! We started with mussels, truffle fries, pork buns and burrata. Pork buns were two pieces and very tasty. The burrata was super fresh with a large mixed greens salad underneath - also great. The mussels were a small portion but delicious. We were almost full so we all shared the branzino - cooked to perfection with a tasty pearl couscous. Highly recommend and would like to go back and try other things!

We were staying at the hotel across the street and didn't know what to expect when we walked into the little bar. Upstairs is a formal dining room with impeccable service and great food! We had a full 3 course dinner, which was a lot for only $55. The rolls are incredible too!!

I've never come here for Happy Hour, but so glad I did. There is a cute bar downstairs with a few high top tables and some seats at the bar. Diana made the most delicious cocktails. She was lovely and attentive! I will definitely be back! Purple rain and French kiss!

I decided to spend my 30th birthday in this restaurant because I saw the chef was Bolivian like I am. I was very impressed by how good all of the plates were as well as the atmosphere and service. Everything was 5 stars from start to finish. I ordered the peanut soup as an appetizer and the picanha with cheese rice. The peanut soup was so authentic tasting that it reminded me of home. I would say the same for the picanha and cheese rice as well. My husband ordered the filet medallions which were also amazing. We both ordered caramel apple mules to drink and both would recommend it. We were six people and all of them were pretty happy about their appetizers/entrees and drinks. They were also very veg friendly. For dessert we got the smore's which came with incredible presentation. More for the experience but it was very cool. And the pistachio cake was delicious. Our service was amazing. We even got shots for free. They brought a delicious cake and had a cute sign on the table. Very happy with the entire experience.

    Entry ambiance. Outside dining.

Wonderful happy hour food and the happiness goes until 7pm! We ordered the fried oysters, cauliflower, brussel sprouts AND mushrooms. Way too much. So order less and add more if you are hungry. The white sangria was yummy with hints of anise. Our server was lovely.

I was excited to check out this newly refurbished dc staple for restaurant week! Their $55 three-course special was not as good of a deal as some restaurants, but the food was good! I was especially impressed by the perfectly cooked halibut and the magnificent tuna poke tacos. I also enjoyed the filet medallions--although the price was exorbitant compared to the quantity--and the tempura mushrooms. Our desserts were nice too! One big issue: we were told that they were out of honey cake, despite the fact that almost all the tables around us received that cake. We were really disheartened by that. The service was a little slow and not particularly attentive, so we ended up having to wait quite a while. Other than that, it was good! The ambiance was very upscale 90s, which was kind of cool too.

Back to New Heights for happy hour the other day - our friends are serious regulars of the place. Everything is still good but they don't seem to change their HH menu much so if you go too often it'll be boring. But now it's warmer their outdoor patio is open - it's is a great place for HH or dinner - it's on a stretch of wider sidewalk, has plant barriers and covered so you are set apart from noise and passers-by.

Tucked into the heart of Dupont Circle with its unmistakable bright blue awning, the restaurant is intimate, moody, and always buzzing. Inside, you'll find dim lighting, a handful of cozy wooden bar booths, seats along the bar, and a few outdoor tables. It's not a huge space, which only adds to its charm and makes every reservation feel like a win. The atmosphere is perfect for sharing dishes and lingering over dinner with friends. The food was incredible...I genuinely loved every single bite. Just be prepared: the Sichuan spice is no joke! If you aren't expecting it, it'll definitely sneak up on you (in the best way). My must-orders? The chili wontons, Dan Dan noodles, and beef noodles. Every dish was packed with bold flavor and left me wanting to come back for more. If you've been trying to score a reservation, keep at it. Astoria is one of those places that's absolutely deserving of its reputation, and I'll be thinking about those noodles until my next visit.

Inside had small tables and a kinda casual cocktail bar vibe Beef Noodles - the highlight and actually very good! The noodles are long and handmade and chewy. They hold onto the sauce very well! The sauce has a slight kick and is very savory. The beef is soft and also flavorful! I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! However I think they cut the tofu pieces way too large or the tofu they chose had way too much tofu flavor that overpowers the sauce. I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward. Technically the level of ginger spice is fine but strong but then the rest of the drink got completely overpowered and so this just wasn't that great 2.5/10
