This place is a pretty good spot. I went with my friend one Monday for happy hour and the service was smooth. He was really friendly and had great recommendations. We tried their burgers and they were probably a 3.5/5. I wish it was a little juicier, but it hit the spot. Tried being healthier so opted for a side salad with the burger. The specials were good. Very good happy hour pricing for wine and beer. A super plus was that they were dog friendly! So our puppies got to hang out, get water, and lots of attention from other friendly guests. It would've been nice if the outside patio had music, just to add to the vibe, but the waiters said it wasn't allowed. Is deff stop by here again, especially after another puppy play date.

The Commodore is a solid American food spot in DuPont. Came on a Sunday around 7:30 and the kitchen had already closed for the night but they still offered to make us food which was very appreciated! The food came out quickly. We split the pretzel which was giant and amazing. It comes with great dips and can be a meal in and of itself. I got one of their burgers which was good, but nothing special. Everything advertised on top that sounded special for toppings just tasted basic. The tots on the side were seasoned well. At about $20 for a burger it's pretty expensive, so I'd probably stick to apps next time. Service is great but it's a small restaurant so if you see a table grab it!

Stopped in for Caroled at the Commodore as it's officially holiday season and time to hit all the pop-ups around the DMV. We stopped in on a Wednesday evening and by 6 pm it was PACKED. My friends and I sampled some of the spirited libations upstairs (not sure what the theme of that room is - online it says there would be 3 rooms representing past, present and yet to come) and they were all pretty good. On the sugary side of course but we love a theme! They are also honoring happy hour (M-F; 4-7 pm) during the pop up so no pressure to only order a holiday drinks - they've got options! We didn't order any food but I will say I was eyeing what I overheard are called Tot-Cho's and they smelled delicious! Overall we had a great time! It wasn't super holiday themed but there were infusions. Bee appreciated the fast service and the cozy pub atmosphere!

Excellent food and vibe in the house of the Commodore! Go deep sea diving into great pub food and tasty libations! Yes, great beer and fantastic cocktails. I loved the Old Fashioned. Also the Oaxaca Mule has a pleasant kick. For food items, the fried Brussels sprouts was complex and delightful. I can also recommend the Nightcrawler patty melt on sourdough.

We were here for our scuba team happy hour. It was pretty humid that day and the indoors was packed. We decided to sit outside and grab some drinks and dinner. Servers were very kind to provide us with mosquito repellents as there were so many mosquitoes. Well, the drinks were great. I ordered old fashioned and I had no complaints. I then switched to a cocktail. Happy hour prices are great. Tried hot dogs for snacks. Highly recommend this area if you want to catch up with friends and family.

This spot is amazing! Super welcoming ambiance with great energy. Drinks were quite affordable which is hard to come by in DC - they had a super cool cocktail menu as well. The best part hands down was the FOOD! You must try the brussel sprouts, loaded tots, chicken wings and fried cheese. It was the most elevated and tasty bar food we've ever had. Highly recommend.

A nice bar and restaurant in a super hip neighborhood! It can be tough to get quick service, so definitely try to enjoy the ambiance! The food is decent--definitely overpriced and not as filling as I'd like (e.g., the crab dip is mostly mayo). But it's good!

Went on two separate occasions to grab drinks before dinner reservations. The first time was a Monday and was 5/5 everything! Second time was on a Saturday and that's why I'm giving 4/5. Our first time we sat at the bar and service was so fast, but it also was not that busy. On Saturday we arrived around 2:45 and the bar wasn't that busy, but brunch was ending at 3 and food service wouldn't start again till 4pm. No big deal! We grabbed our drinks and waited, but service was very slow and as the bar got busier the service became slower if you were sitting at a table and not at the bar. Otherwise, this place is such a cool vibe, the food looks amazing and next time I go I am ordering apps! Drinks are good and there seems to be something for everyone!

Went to DC in March and had the chance to go dine at The Commodore. It's definitely a chill spot to catch up with your friends. We had the Totchos as an app and they were so good! I had the Damn Good Caesar Salad and also tried the Mac n cheese, both really good. My partner enjoyed his burger as well. Overall, the vibe was chill abs our server was cool! Definitely recommend if you're visiting.

Stopped by for happy hour last night with my girls and so glad we did. The best thing was the Buffalo chicken dip- it was absolutely delicious. I'll be back for that dish alone. The happy hour bratwurst was also very tasty and a fun, unique flavor combo and points that it was cut down the middle so you could actually get the toppings in each bite. I stuck to a canned beverage but they had fun looking cocktails too! Service was attentive- you could tell there is a good regular crowd here. I'm glad I came in, living in the neighborhood I'd totally come back and am happy to have discovered it. There are several other items on the regular menu and brunch menu that I want to come back and try! My only complaint is we asked the server at the very beginning if we could split the check by item and were told we could- come to the end and were told the best they can do is split it 50/50 on two cards. This was frustrating and has happened to us a lot in other places as well- hence why we asked at the beginning of the meal before we opened the tab. So if you want separate checks be sure to start separate tabs at the beginning- lesson learned.

I went here for Happy Hour after work. It's a typical bar type environment with good drinks and great music. In my opinion, the happy hour prices were great. They had $6 wells drinks and $6 wine. The food prices were about the same, but they do have food specials for Happy Hour. I ordered the chicken tenders and tots. They were ok. Nothing to rave about. The service was excellent. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They made us laugh and made sure we had a good time. I had such a good time, that I only have one picture for my review. Check them out for Happy Hour, if you are ever in the area.

I think they take reservations but we were able to grab a bar spot. Are drinks pricey? What do you think? It's a cocktail bar in DC. The drinks we tried were pretty tasty, even the mezcal one which I thought was a refreshing take. The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

Our bartender was Gaylan and he was great--had great reccs, laughed with us a bit, all around great guy. The 'let me just say this' was so soo good! It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there

This bar is sweet -- awesome music, a neat menu, truly craft cocktails, and a unique menu. We tried several cocktails and each was delicious - from spicy to sweet, they don't miss. We also tried the cheese burger egg rolls and the tuna hand roll. The food is expensive for what you get but it's advertised to be small bites, not a meal. The egg rolls felt like remixed in n out, and as a Californian, I was grateful. Why not 5 stars? With the premium pricetag, I do expect premium service. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!
