Came here on a drinking passport and decided to try out 2 different types of sangria. I was greeted as soon as I entered and was allowed to sit at bar. The bar was crowded but there were seats available at the far end. It was energetic in the bar with football games playing, Christmas music and a small late brunch crowd. Since I already ate I didn't look at the food menu. Itsasmall.pub style pub located in Georetown. It's a nice cha ge from the multiple upscale places in the area. Great spot for some cheap drinks and bar food.

I came here as one of the stops on the Guide to Imbibe DC passport. I found the service to be incredibly rude. Unfortunately, the drinks weren't great either. My Negroni was not well-balanced at all. I would not return.

I popped in here on a very hot Saturday around 6pm and chilled at the bar to wait on a friend. The bartender informed that they offer happy hour all day and once I saw that margaritas were $6.50/ea, I was hooked! This deal is almost unheard of in D.C.. I definitely ordered 3 margs and they were all yummy. The margarita options were passionfruit, strawberry, traditional lime, and spicy jalapeño. Later into the night it started to get crowded by the bar and people started to do karaoke on the piano. I will definitely come back and recommend this spot to others.

Stopped by to use my Guide to Imbibe after being in the area to visit the local theater. Grabbed a seat at the bar since I was solo. Ended up getting the Georgetown Burger, which was great. Also had the Passion-Tini and the espresso martini. Both were really good. The service was good, even though the bar was pretty busy. Would definitely drop back in if in the area.

Bar area, even had a piano bar. Very spacious and lots of seats

Great drink/bar variety and service from bartender. Food was okay - lacked seasoning on the cheesesteak and was disappointed the veggie wrap had 0 components of what it listed on the menu. Was supposed to be cold, but was hot with giant pieces of broccoli in it and just overall not enjoyable but quesadilla appetizer was really good!

Nice place in Georgetown! We were there on a Sunday during their happy hour time and we got margaritas, beers and fries for 5$ each! The bar tender (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) was very friendly, helpful and fast. He told us the story of CIA agents meeting at this very bar to exchange information (you can read more about it on the menu). I also got the funnel cake and it was pretty good!

The Mr Smiths Famous Burger was very sad. Tasted meh. I don't know what I was thinking to come to a bar for lunch.

I came here for happy hour with my friend and i really enjoyed the food, drinks, service amd ambiance. It wasn't too packed and the bartenders and workers KNOW what they are doing. The nachos were excellent but the French I took soup was below average. The price was typical for Georgetown.

It's moved around a bit over the years and the exact original location is a mystery. The restaurant story is just the start. The food of course is where it's at. Old Ebbitt is famous for it's crab cakes according to the server so you know what direction I went in. They were more like a Maryland crab cake which has a ton of meat. We were at their lunch dining so salads were also ordered and tasted amazing. Finished the mean off with a Key Lime Pie and coffee. Reservations are highly recommended given its popularity. They also asked that all attendees in your party are present so remember that to be seated. Situated near the White House, and directly across the street from The Department of Treasury, it's an ideal spot for a meal before or after site seeing. What's clear about Old Ebbitt Grill is its longstanding appeal. President McKinley was such a fan he reportedly lived there during his Congressional days. Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Roosevelt all stopped in, basically making it a hot spot in Washington. If it's President approved you should go also!

This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

Honestly we were so pleasantly surprised by how good the burgers are! I had the Capital Burger which had such incredible flavor and the burger itself is thick and juicy. My daughter had the wild mushrooms burger and she loved it -- the aioli had the perfect tang to go with the mushroom and Swiss, both burgers were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The old fashioned was just your typical old fashioned with a slice of candied bacon attached to the outside of the glass. We were hoping for something smokier and a little different but it was still a very good Old Fashioned. We shared the chocolate mousse and it was perfection. Yum! If I lived here this would be my new regular spot.

On our last visit, we arrived just five minutes before they switched from the brunch menu to lunch, and they still let us order brunch without making us feel rushed. That kind of flexibility and kindness really makes a difference. If you're a fan of Bloody Marys, don't skip them here! They make one of the best I've had and it's the perfect complement to brunch.
