The 2005 Ford F-250 listed by New Hope Auto Sales online as "perfect" at my mechanics shop. My mechanic discovered a plethora of problems.

****BUYER BEWARE***** I felt compelled to write about my experience with New Hope Auto Sales to caution potential buyers from purchasing a vehicle here. Fortunately, they only wasted one of my days but it could have been far worse and to anyone that reads this and proceeds to buy a car here, be advised, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I run a small landscaping and decking company. I need an additional truck for my job because my company is growing. I have been looking for a truck for two months. Because my business is very small, I do not have much money to invest in equipment and my lack of sufficient money for a new truck, is what initially attracted me to this used car dealership. I came across New Hope Auto Sales' listing for a 2005 Ford F-250. The listing declared that the truck was, "in perfect condition". I left them a message over the weekend inquiring about the truck and on monday they called me back. I went online and looked at the reviews people made for New Hope Auto Sales. I found a pervasively consistent theme of dishonesty on the part of New Hope Auto Sales, in the reviews. Although the online reviews revealed a prominent pattern of dishonesty, which was discouraging, I decided to give them a chance. On Monday October 3rd, Cameron from New Hope Auto Sales returned my call regarding the Ford F-250 Truck and I asked them if I could take the truck to my mechanic, to have a look at it, which they agreed to. Because finding a good truck, at the amount I could afford, was very important to me, I decided to take the day off from my job and drive up to New Hope and take the truck to my mechanic for him to have a look. Once I arrived I was very candid with the salesperson I met there, Cameron. I told Cameron that I saw the listing as "perfect" but I informed him that I had read the reviews online for New Hope Auto Sales and I asked him very frankly if he wished to reveal anything that was wrong with the car, otherwise my mechanic would tell me shortly. To this Cameron replied that he didn't know if there was or not. Again, I gave him the opportunity to reveal any problems with the truck, so that I could then decide if it was worthwhile for me to invest in fixing the problems. Cameron did not stray from the dishonest listing that the truck was in "perfect condition". I then drove the truck to my mechanic who revealed to me a myriad of problems with the truck's engine and transmission. I then drove the truck back and told everyone in the store that they were a bunch of dishonest assholes and that I did not appreciate them wasting my time. THANK GOD, I was smart enough to take this truck to my mechanic, who I trust. Otherwise, I would have purchased it and it would have failed me. One wasted day of work, I can deal with. Wasting a large portion of my profits, working my butt off through sweat and tears, on a terrible truck, I could NOT deal with. They may be very nice and charming but DO NOT be deceived, when you are driving one of the vehicles they sold to you, it very well may die on you as you are driving it or worse, jeopardize your life on the road, as several of the issues my mechanic pointed out to me regarding the truck were DANGEROUS. They DO NOT and WILL NOT care after the sale if this happens to you. SO BEWARE. DO NOT buy from New Hope Auto Sales. I know you may not have much money, like I do not, but it is better to still have a little bit of money rather than no money and a car that doesn't work or even worse no money and hospital bills from the injury you sustained from an accident caused by a malfunctioning vehicle they lied to you about and sold you. YOUR Choice a small amount of money or no money, no car and a new disability and host of health problems.

    Beautiful cars in stock!

I clearly explained that I would purchase the vehicle from Thompson if they honored the $500 Hero discount that was being offered at Team Toyota. The Sales Manager, Steve Tagye, responded and initially confirmed that honoring the $500 discount would not be an issue. Based on this clear agreement, I placed a deposit. After several months of waiting for the redesigned RAV4 to enter production, the dealership located a vehicle for me in February. At this point, communication broke down completely. The sales consultant, Ken, could not make even minor decisions and was forced to defer to Steve Tagye for nearly everything. In March, Steve Tagye unilaterally backed out of the previously agreed-upon $500 discount on a vehicle with a list price of approximately $49,000. Despite the clear documentation of our agreement and my repeated references to it, he refused to honor the commitment and attempted to argue that the agreement never existed. This was a blatant use of manipulative and unethical sales tactics, wasting my time and trust. I immediately requested my deposit back and decided to take my business elsewhere. Potential buyers should exercise extreme caution when dealing with Steve Tagye and Thompson Toyota.

Coffee machine in the waiting area wasn't working. So I used the coffee machine/maker in the lobby near the entrance. Sat down and was enjoying my coffee when I noticed something dark floating in my cappuccino. I pinched it with my fingers and was thinking it was a piece of a coffee bean. Well it turned out that it was a big black ant, OMG. I show it to an employee and they were going to let someone know. So stupid me decided to make my myself another drink but this time it was a coffee/chocolate drink. Guess what more floaters in this drink also. Said something again to the employee again and showed them the ant. I think there was was more than one ant in each of the drinks but wasn't about to do an extensive search. The blurry photo was from the first drink and the other two was the second. What the f is going on at that place. Never had an issue like this before!!! I usually would just let this slide but this was a bit ridiculous!!!!!!

After a nice test drive, I decided I was interested in the vehicle. I asked if I could have my mechanic check it out to make sure all was in working order, and they were willing to comply. After my mechanic checked it out, he found some problems that were waiting to happen; including leaking break fluid. The suspicious part was the Select Auto had told me the car recently passed inspection, but my mechanic made it clear to me that it shouldn't have passed. After deciding that purchasing the vehicle was not in my best financial interest, I returned the vehicle to the dealer and repeated what my mechanic had said to me. Up until this point the employees had been extremely positive and helpful but once my disinterest in purchasing the vehicle became evident; their tone changed. This makes me believe that their pleasantries were disingenuous. My big issue is the fact that they were able to have a vehicle pass inspection, when my mechanic (who does do vehicle inspection) said it shouldn't have. I see this as extremely fishy and would be extremely cautious when thinking of buying from this dealer.
