To the anodyne question of "Is the price negotiable?" Jeff responded with, quote, "What kind of question is that? Why don't you come look at the vehicle before you wanna discount" Granted, I did not go to check out the car before inquiring about whether the price was negotiable (it was a Sunday, the shop was closed), but a simple "we would prefer to negotiate in person" or something similar would have went a long way. That is what other, more PR-oriented people responded with in the past, so it is a real shame Jeff failed to. Steve bailed me out on Christmas Eve morning. My wife's car started making a thunking noise from the front passenger tire the day before. With holiday travel and how busy mechanics are this time of year I thought I was in trouble. I called in the afternoon on December 23. They were booked for that day and the next, but was told if I brought it in right at 7am Christmas Eve when their mechanics got in, they could take a quick look and if it was an easy fix take care of it then. I arrived at 6:55. Steve was kind and friendly to my situation. About 5 minutes later my car was in the bay and 5 minutes later it was fixed. Turned out to just be a screw caught in tire. $10 fix. Steve was busy and could have easily turned down the job. It meant a lot to me that he took the time to even consider looking at it, let alone fix it. I currently own 3 cars that were all purchased new. One of these cars now has over 200,000 miles and the other two are each over 100,000. The service team at Ferino is a key reason why my cars have lasted as long as they have. I have 100% confidence in their ability to diagnose and fix any sort of mechanical issue. I have always found them to be fair in how they charge for repairs and they have always been very accommodating. I bought a truck from this place about 2 years ago. I had intermitant brake problems with it almost immediately which they claimed to fix under the 30 day warranty. After about 2 months the warranty was expired and my ABS module failed to the tune of $800. When the inspection expired 10 months later, I had it reinspected at another garage. The truck failed for everything from ball joints to brakes, calipers and rotors. It cost me almost $1400 to get it road worthy. This is in addition to the other issues like a leaking radiator, master cylinder, and wheel sensors, that cost me about $800 in repairs during the first year of ownership. My mechanic made a statement that based on the mileage I had put on this vehicle, and, the amount of repairs I had made, there is no way it would have passed inspection the previous year. After 2 years and about $3k in repairs I finally got rid of it as a junker when the trans went. The final tally is about $11k lost minus depreciation and a generous $2000 trade in allowance. They replaced the brakes, the front axel, and gave me a deal on replacing the timing belt. The price was more than fair and I couldn't be happier with how forthright they were. Hi this review is for anyone interested or about to purchase a Vehicle from Ferrino Brothers. I recently purchased a car there and was told I have a 30 day warranty for the car and whatever goes wrong they will repair. As we drove the vehicle we noticed things were going wrong with the car. The actuators were both bad, along with the bad spark plugs were impacting how the car drove. They eventually fixed it after a little hassle. I had a problem with my gas gauge, it drops from 100 miles until empty to zero miles till empty immediately. His response was just get gas then. There were still more things that we wanted to address and we brought it to their attention and they started to stay "we aren't giving you anything else free". They claimed it was just "power train" warranty. But we have the papers and texts claiming that it said no such thing. If you decide to proceed and purchase a car from this place, I advise you to take it to YOUR mechanic first, have them give you a list of what's wrong and get it in writing from Ferino that they will fix them BEFORE buying! Trying to buy a used car is a frustrating ordeal, as you may be finding out! It's a minefield of gotcha's and shady dealings. I found an ideal car in Glen Burnie, MD and then read the Yelp reviews that said to stay away. I found another in Fredericksburg, VA and again read warning Yelp reviews. The CarFax showed the car was in an accident w/ a damaged frame and been repossessed. Such dishonesty. I traveled to PA for another and was just about to buy after the test drive, when I checked underneath... and found it mud-caked and excessively rusting. Aaaahhh. Finally, I saw another RAV4 (I was looking for this model w/ exact features) in PA. The pictures looked good along w/ the price. I spoke w/ Jeff who came across as straight forward. We drove up and the RAV4 looked clean and polished. I started to look underneath when Jeff and the mechanic said No... we'll put it up on the lift so you can have a good look. They were proud of the condition of the car... making a point of showing off the new brakes and tires. This is important. My gf and I sensed these were good and honest people. There was no haggling, no subterfuge. They were just decent normal people (maybe that's now abnormal). We drove to the title agency and there was a paperwork issue... so we took the car and ate lunch in New Hope while Jeff resolved the issue. He went out of his way to not have us be inconvenienced. Anyway, I brought the car back to MD and it sailed through its inspection. There was another issue at the MD MVA (another ordeal!) and I had to call Jeff to get a fax. First of all they always run out of their gas supply and they don't follow their hours of operation and close earlier than they are supposed to. The mechanic and owner are dishonest crooks! Do yourself a favor and go across the street to a more honest and reliable gas station. read more
