Turns out it was a few vacuum hoses and the fix was about $200, BUT on further inspection my car was a DEATH TRAP and there were some serious problems that needed to be addressed immediately to the tune of almost $3000, or I'd be endangering the lives of grandmothers and kittens all over the world. Well not that bad, but they were adamant about the fixes. I thanked them very much and took it to someone I knew could do the work if only to save a few hundred bucks. Turns out the dealership was exaggerating the symptoms... go figure! I was informed by someone I trust that the "must have" fixes were either cosmetic or recommended in the next year or more, NOT needed right away. All in all my tab went from $3000 to $350! I will say that they were friendly (like a serial killer offering you a ride) and the waiting room was comfortable with K-cup coffee... does that help?

When talking to the owner/mechanic he informed him he thought the starter needed to be replaced. The next day the owner called saying that he changed the starter, and burned it up while trying to start the vehicle. He also tried with a crowbar to turn the engine and it wouldn't turn, that it was metal on metal and locked up. So he diagnosed the engine was ceased up. He wanted us to give him the title so that he could scrap the car in payment for the work and time he had put into the car. My husband said he needed a day or so to decide. I talked to a mechanic friend of mine, and he was interested in the vehicle as he has a good motor that he can install in my vehicle. So we told my friend he could have it as long as he worked out a payment with L & S for the work that they had done. I turned in the plates, so that I could take the insurance off the vehicle. Several days later my friend towed the vehicle to a work area, and on inspecting it found the starter to never having been touched. He also grabbed the main serpentine belt and turned the engine over one revolution, by hand. He proceeded to install a new starter, and the engine started right up and has been working perfectly fine since. This shop has two certified experienced professional mechanics. Either this shop is the most incompetent ever, or they are committing fraud and possible theft by deception. I recommend everyone stay away from this place.

The work was completed promptly. The communication was great. The work was done well. Owner and employees encountered were polite, professional, friendly. Experience from start to finish was pain-free. The ONLY reason for not giving Flower Hill 5 stars is they do not accept credit cards. That's right, if there's no insurance involved you're writing a check or paying cash. When you're paying out-of-pocket for damages... sticking it to a person's bank account really rubs salt in the wound.
