After several months of getting quotes I almost gave up on my master bedroom addition project. I would not recommend this contractor. Howard who we spoke to was difficult to work with. Dose not follow what we asked for in estimates and prolongs giving estimates. Howard needs to treat his costumers with respect. We know what the process with building permits, plans and what inspectors require. Howard thinks he knows it all. Since the real estate market was so crazy earlier this year, my wife and I decided to add ~ 200 square feet and a second bathroom to our home. Howard was a very nice guy. He came and walked through our house and promised an estimate in about 2 weeks time but never got back to us. He came the last week of October 2017 and it's now mid January 2018 and still haven't heard from him. Everything seemed promising but he never got back to us. He told us he had million dollar homes he was doing so maybe doing a home that's only worth north of $400k wasn't worth his time? Or maybe he thought we didn't have the money? We're not the type of people to keep calling and texting someone to give them work..if your interested in doing the job I think you should get back to the customer to let them know your busy or not interested in the job. I took a huge risk and referred these guys to my mother-in-law. Imagine how bad that could have been for me if they had screwed that up. Turns out that they did an amazing job. The did a kitchen addition that is beautiful, turned the old kitchen into a man-cave, and remodeled a bedroom. All well done with as little impact on my in-laws as possible. I'm a little late in writing but that's because I'm not as good at getting things done on time as the team at New Lattitudes! I moved in with my son last year and soon realized that I needed my own "space." I contacted New Lattitudes and I am thrilled with the results. They remodeled our home to convert a bedroom into a beautiful living area complete with granite counter tops, cabinets and a see thru fireplace. From there I get to walk into my new spacious bedroom, a bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower big enough for two, and a walk-in closet most women can only dream about. Oh, and did I mention I have a separate entrance? At the beginning of the project they gave me an itinerary of what they'd be doing each week and altho there were a few days that caused them a delay due to rain, somehow they managed to have the project completed on the exact day scheduled. Howard was extremely patient when I asked questions or added a little "tweak" here and there and Rhonda came up with some beautiful design ideas...from accent inlays to tile placement to my gorgeous fireplace glass. I get so many compliments on my little piece of Heaven...but most importantly, I go home each day to a relaxed space. We ended up going with a different contractor, but I still felt I should leave a review based on our experience up to the point of finalizing things with another company. We got an estimate for a master bath and kitchen remodel. They were on time, very friendly, weren't in a rush, and listened to us and took note of everything we wanted.. they didn't try to steer us in their own direction at all (as I feel some other companies do.) While waiting for the final quote, we were able to email frequently with questions or additional info, and were always responded to promptly, even at night or on weekends. We would have moved forward with this company, but decided it made more since to stick to a contractor we used in another area of the house, so things would all match. Howard came out to get me an estimate, and was super fast to respond in the beginning, but then nothing :( he sent an email with an estimate but it wasn't itemized the way he said it would be, and then when I try to contact him there's no response. My guess is he just doesn't want to do this job but I wish he would have just told me that instead of leaving me in the dark. I have lived at my house for a little over three years now. Since the time I first saw it I've wanted to build a detached garage in the back yard so I can work on my projects and not use the main garage for these activities. I came across Howard, the owner of New Latitudes, from a family member. He seemed like a nice guy always punctual and answered my phone calls. What he said was special about his company was that he was a general contractor, architect and structural engineer all under one roof. That was exactly what I needed. After talking with him several times the only services I needed from him were a city approved set of plans as I was going to build myself. Six months after signing a contract I still had nothing. After putting some pressure on him he finally admitted his engineer had left. So long story short he could not deliver what he had promised. I do not appreciate the lack of communication. What a waste of time. Took my business else where. This is what happens when Howard gets a bad review: "Hi Joe. I just saw your Yelp review and think it was harsh and exaggerated as we did a lot more than "nothing" including the battle with the City Planner (who ultimately didn't even do the plan review). Unfortunately it did not work out exactly as either of us expected. I tried to do the right thing by you by nullifying the contract and providing everything we had done to that point for free. Anyway, it is what it is. Best of luck to you." I have my opinions and he has his. Communication is very important between client and contractor. Howard has a hard time relaying important information to the homeowner or me in this case. Make sure to get other bids before choosing New Latitudes. read more

It took us about 2 years of interviewing contractors until we finally found someone who seemed very stable and trustworthy. Since we decided to invest a huge sum of money by adding on nearly 800 sq feet to our home, it was important to find someone who we could trust. After meeting with Howard (who was always on time), we knew he was the right contractor for the job. Pricing was reasonable, and quality of work is outstanding. He created a draw schedule in such a way, where there was no way we would be out money should something occur. His crew was very professional and customer focused. Howard went above and beyond numerous times. While this was a 12 week project, Howard's team had the addition completed in 9 weeks. Other contractors who had bid on the job estimated closer to 6 months. The build quality is amazing, and the best part is the addition doesn't look like an addition; it flows so well, that it looks like original construction from when the house was built. Very happy with New Lattitudes! I initially contacted Rhonda to give me an estimate for a media center/ built in bookshelf unit with a mounted TV and fake fireplace. She came out and shared her ideas, brought her cabinet guy. Everything was fine until life changed a bit. I sat on the project for about half a year. Howard and his company New Lattitudes are outstanding!!! I say without hesitation, if you need any home construction or remodeling done, look no further. I just had a new 640sq ft. addition added to my home and I couldn't be more pleased. The price was fair, the workmanship was top notch. I've had construction done before and you know how it goes. One day they're here, a couple they're not, etc, etc... It drags on forever. Howard's team of very courteous and professionals were basically on the job every day and at every step of the process (except for when waiting for an inspection). I was amazed!
