Buyer beware. They market an extended warranty for appliances with a pitch that you'll receive 50% back of your purchase price of an unused New Leaf extended warranty. You have one shot at mailing in your claim for the rebate. If you don't have everything exactly as they want (invoice vs receipt), you'll be denied. This is understandable, however, you only get one chance to submit. If they determine any one minute detail is not to their specification, that's it, no rebate for you, period. No clarification or request for more documentation. Furthermore, I found their customer service to be extremely rude and petty, seemingly always needing to get in the last word as you would expect from a child. If I owned or managed this business, I'd be shocked and embarrassed at how they communicate with customers and conduct themselves. If I was New Leaf, I'd immediately drop them. What I find interesting is they have an A+ BBB rating, with no review (prior to this). However, if you look up New Leaf Service Contracts, Inc on the BBB website, Yelp, or Google, you'll find they are undeserving of this rating and likely only have this rating because they are a third party vendor/administrator of New Leaf plans so their business is easily overlooked. Bottom line, any contract that Gotham Service Plans are a part of should be a hard pass. This is my experience with them but judging from other reviews elsewhere, I know I'm not alone. So my Hi-Ended Samsung dish washer pump failed... it has been 2 weeks since making my claim & still NO CLOSER to a repair. After (4) months of service calls, parts being ordered, no show technicians, New Leaf finally approved a final settlement to cover the five year extended warranty I purchased for my Electrolux Dryer. It has now been 7 weeks since I received email confirmation for the settlement and I have yet to receive the check. I have called (4) times in the past two weeks to the "Executive Team" and each time they tell me the check is being expedited and should go out within the week and have not received it. I cannot tell you the stress and frustration I have experienced during this entire process! No one at the company cares about customer service and purchasing a warranty through this company is not worth the paper it is written on. Purchased a wine cooler on Amazon and added a 3 yr extended warranty through this firm. Sure enough wine cooler lasted 15 months and contacted New Leaf to fix/replace. First they had to send out a rep to assess repair. 10 days later the company that was contracted by them to come out was a no show (business was overwhelmed). Now we are into our second week and New Leaf has to find another contractor to come out and assess repair. Takes another 10 days to schedule. They are very professional and come out to confirm what we thought, closed system and can't be repaired. Now wait for new leaf to confirm. New Leaf can't procure a replacement wine cooler, so I have to accept a check payout. Expect it to take a month... not great but ok. So we go out and purchase a new wine cooler. A week later, a replacement wine cooler shows up. Called New Leaf back, they know nothing of this. I don't want the replacement as I have procured a new one, so new leaf has to arrange a pickup of the replacement wine cooler. It's now been six weeks since first contacting new leaf and I am still waiting for the check (two more weeks) and someone to pickup the replacement wine cooler... no time line. And, by the way, I had the expense of having to dispose of the old wine cooler. The reason these guys get 3 stars is they do communicate about what's going on despite the lengthy delays and I am assuming at some point I will indeed get a check for the old one and the replacement will be hauled away. read more

I purchased several service contracts that have a fifty percent money back at expiration if not used. The first contract expired 5/1/2021. I sent the information they requested on April 27,2021 by certified mail. They received the information on 4/30/2021. First they say wait about 8 weeks then they say 10 to 20 weeks. Then they claim it was not sent correctly. I believe they have no intention of returning the 50% money back. The store that sold me the appliances and service contracts said they no longer deal with New Leaf Contracts because of all the complaints they received about them. I am now trying to dissolve or cancel the remaining two contracts as I have no intention of using their service in the future and I want the fifty percent money back as outlined in their contract. The total amount owed to me is $475 for three service contracts. This company is awful to deal with with long hold times and bad customer service. Anyone who doubts my claims check out not only the reviews on yelp but the Better Business Bureau. I will be filing a small claims court action as soon as my present contracts expire. New Leaf is a fly by night company that will take your money and offer you nothing in return. When I purchased a new refrigerator in 2018, I opted for the extended warranty offered by New Leaf. Within two years, the refrigerator's freezer stopped freezing. No problem, I bought that extended warranty through New Leaf, right? For the next year and a half (yes, year and a half) I had to put up with New Leaf repeatedly sending over a service provider to repair the unit, and failing. They sent someone over at least eight times. I repeatedly told New Leaf that their provider does not know how to repair the unit; at their most recent visit, they tried replacing the water filter! Yet New Leaf kept sending over repair people. Finally, after telling New Leaf that they had to honor their contract and repair the unit, they told me to contact the store where I bought the refrigerator. I did, and the store was confused, because New Leaf was supposed to replace the unit. This back and forth went on for another two months. Then, New Leaf offered to give me a refund... for the extended warrenty. That is less than 1/5 the cost of the fridge! The entire reason for buying the extended warranty was to cover this situation. I told them no, and escalated back to the original store. Then New Leaf said they need to attempt one more repair. But it's an out-of-network provider, so I need to pay them directly and they'll reimburse me. Against my better judgement, I gave them one more chance. It has now been month, and I have not received any sort of reimbursed from New Leaf. Now New Leaf's final offer is to reimburse me the cost of the fridge *minus the cost of their failed repairs*. I told them repeatedly during the process that the repairs weren't working! They acted in bad faith knowing that they had nothing to lose. They knew that every failed repair would just deduct from their final payout. I contacted the CEO via email. Despite all the details I just shared, he stands by the final offer. He will only reimburse half the price of the fridge. It's clear that this company is a scam. How many people will continue to hound them like this? I have a 5-year warranty for a GE Cafe refrigerator purchased in August, 2022. I have had 4 service calls so far because of freezer temperature control issues, including replacement of the computer board. These service calls require that I take time off from work & while the freezer hasn't been working properly, losing quite a bit of food & as a result, money. The GE repairman has been great, comes on time & has explored multiple options for the repair. He said that it needed a new drain pump - the old one had blown out in less than 18 months. New Leaf refused the claim because of "owner negligence" - because the repairman reported that he had cleaned the trap during his visit. New Leaf actually called the repair person while I was on the line, at my insistence, and he told them that he did not believe that lack of maintenance caused the problem. But they still refused to honor the claim. Ridiculous!! This company truly will not honor their warranty - STAY AWAY. Update 7/27/2021 I have tried to use this warranty two more times. Both times, it took so long to get a repair company assigned to the job that I gave up and just got the repairs done out of pocket. Purchased a Maytag fridge in 2016 and they told me if I didn't make any claims they would refund half the amount. I purchased through AJ Madison. Well my contract expired on Jan 10th, 2021 and I was expecting them to mail me a check for half the service price but when I called they said you need to submit orginal reciept for the fridge and the warranty service plan along with a 50% refund certificate that I never received. This all had to be done within 10 days of the contract expiring. They have my receipts from when I activated the warranty and it was just an excuse not to payout. This is a shady company with shady practices, stay away. Customer service is not to blame, it's the dirty tactics used buy this awful company. If you are offered, DO NOT BUY. New Leaf immediately scheduled a repair visit. When that repairman didn't show up, they quickly followed up with another repair company, who got the job done swiftly and expertly. The fridge is running better than ever. (We later learned from the second repairman that the original repair service bowed out because they were not certified to work on our refrigerator brand.) This company is a complete and total scam. We purchased a laptop in 2018 with the New Leaf 5 year extended warranty. The laptop developed some issues back in early April, 2021 and i contacted them to see if we can get this issue repaired. They first asked me to send it to a company that only did camera repair, so this should have been the first sign that something was not right. The second company they asked me to send the laptop to did laptop repair and after I sent it there, i waited and waited and two months went by before they mentioned that it was a motherboard issue that needed replacing and that New Leaf was trying to source the part. They couldn't find the part and asked me to send it to a third company for inspection. This was over two months later in July. Today it is August 10th and they informed me that this will not be covered due to a maintenance issue with the motherboard. How do you maintain a motherboard in a laptop? If you value your time and money, do not purchase new leaf! Edit 8/20: I emailed Adorama to tell them about my experiences with NL and they looked into it further for me. New Leaf told them that i sent in the laptop without screws or power supply and i messed with the internals. Here is what happened. They basically took the report from the third company who looked at my laptop after the second company completely screwed it up and sent it without screws, internal board, and power supply. opened a service request on 3/30/3024 and was able to get tech out to my house on 4/2 for dishwasher that was only 1.5 years old. so far, so good. Then tech says we need 3 parts and they will either ship to me or the tech and he made an appointment to come out the following tuesday 4/9. This is where we start to go south. on 4/9 after hearing nothing from the company i called the tech and was told "your not on my schedule today". What does that mean? the parts probably arent in yet. so i go online and start checking every day, on 4/17 2 parts showed as delivered but i had no deliveries. I called the tech and got voice mail, asked if he received the parts and i never got a reply. o then sent an email to customer care. As of 4/29 i had still not heard from anyone, so i sent a stronger message to customer care and then engaged the better business bureau/i got a call from "executive" customer care on thursday 5/2 stating they were getting the parts from another supplier since their normal company didn't have them in stock and i should receive an email once those parts are ready. on saturday 5/4 i received an email asking me to schedule my serrvice. I set the service up for today 5/7 between the hours of 8am-5PM (Only option available). I received a call monday 5/6 evening from executive customer care confiming the appointment for today, i asked if tech had the parts and she confirmed. Sje also stated she would call me later in the day today to check on things. It is now 7:03PM , i lost another full day of work waiting around, no one called, no one showed up and the great executive customer care hasn't called. i go online and magically my service is now moved to thursday 5/9. No notice, No email, No text and no phone call!!!! needless to say this company has cost me more in lost work than the contract. I will update this review Thursday 5.9 (hopefully) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY As of 5/21 my dishwasher is still not functioning, can't get a straight answer from anyone at New Leaf and now they tell me someone should be out on June 3rd. Do NOT purchase an insurance service plan from this company. If I could give them less than a 1 star rating, I would. This is regarding a high-end Sub Zero refrigerator. We live in Nassau County, NY. They only have ONE (1) technician contracted and available, and only on weekends. It takes weeks to get an appointment. Then it takes weeks with us following up to see if the part has shipped. After the 2nd service call for the same problem by the same unqualified technician (I had to physically help him reassemble refrigerator and google how to turn on a Sub Zero), they referred a new company to address our ongoing problem which was immediately resolved (although temporary). It again has become a reoccurring problem and New Leaf refuses to send the alternate technician and said only original company is available, weeks out! I guess they use a discounted repair service. Horrible experience. First, it took forever to find a local company who could provide services in my area. Then, a handyman came to my house to repair the 3-year old fridge which has a problem of excessive condensation, which i stated since the beginning when i asked for a repair under warranty. The handyman, who barely spoke English, said that there was no leak and therefore he could not do anything. I was billed $65 from New Leaf. I called back New Leaf and the representative on the phone was dismissive and said he could send again the handyman but if not leak was found, i had to pay again for the service. please do not buy any insurance products from New Leaf. This has been a nightmare. Freezer stopped doing its only job before Thanksgiving. Contacted New Leaf who tried one service provider (did not ever answer them) then settled on A&E. Four appointments later and nothing is fixed. First appointment, service tech asks if any parts had been ordered. By whom? Isn't that why I had to describe exactly what the problem was to begin with? Tech orders a control panel (circuit board). Second visit, control panel wasn't the problem. Ordered a condenser coil. Third visit, no show. Contacted New Leaf and they said I never let them know I received the part. The part I received on December 17th. The part whose tracking information and a photo of it on my doorstep are in a link provided by the service provider. (One, why am I and not the service provider receiving parts? Two, how was I supposed to know to contact New Leaf that I had received the part?). Appointment four was today. No show. Service provider was unsure if the part had been received. I spoke with David from New Leaf on January 3rd (afternoon of the third scheduled appointment and I told him explicitly that I have had the part since December 17th). Called back to New Leaf and it is being escalated and I will receive a call back in four hours or two business days, not really sure which. Four days taken off from work to support this. Terrible service provider. Waited 2 weeks for a service provider to diagnose the problem on my 2 year old refrigerator. No one ever came. They aren't in contact with the service providers or the service providers schedules. (the service providers are also frustrated with New Leaf) The costumer service agents are very kind and stick to a compassionate script but anyone who can actually help is surly and RUDE. In the end, I found my own service provider who diagnosed and repaired the problem. New Leaf has offered to cover the repair but the product will no longer be covered. "Its not a warranty, its a limited service contract." At this point my time and our need to have working refrigerator are worth more than ever hoping to see the reimbursement. If you ever need to deal with them be forewarned. After reading these reviews, I'm dubious I will ever see the reimbursement. But I will update if I do. read more

The agents are very polite, but they will set up a bogus appointment or send incomplete or wrong information to the appliance manufacturer who then contacts a local repair service. In Brooklyn, that service is Superior and they are terrible. I called Drimmers where we purchased the contract to see about cancelling it and the response was rude, to say the least. I've purchased a 5-year extended warranty for my LG washer, and due to a malfunctioning water sensor, it flooded the ceiling of my neighbor below. I have documentation of everything, including the error sign FE on the washer. The damage was close to $5k. Despite writing and calling New Leaf over dozens of times, they are refusing to honor the warranty and claiming that the washer works as it should. Not only that, but they are even trying to charge me for the tech visit (which did nothing to repair the machine and showed up SIX hours late). I had to call to file a claim twice. The first one I connected with an Indian, the line disconnected and he didn't call back. The second time I talked to very competent and efficient American call center agent who took down my problem--the upper blade on my GE dishwasher came down and had to be reconnected. She took down all the information in two minutes as long as I had the original New Leaf contract with the model, make, serial number of the dishwasher. Within minutes, the agent assigned me to a local appliance firm by email. That firm called to make an appointment within a day and then showed up at the appointed time range and made the repair in ten minutes. Worst company ever! Bough a new washer and dryer from johns appliance about a year and 3 months ago. We just moved on 7/1 to take care of my mother in law who can no longer live alone. We downsized our whole family to take care of her and moved the washer and dryer to her carport. I purchased an extended warranty from Prich with New Leaf. I have spent the last two days trying to find someone at New Leaf that will acknowledge that I have an extended warranty. I sent my invoice and still no action. My Sub-zero is leaking water. Yesterday I spoke with two agents in LATAM and had to repeat my answers 2-3 times. I then spoke with Hailee and sent her the invoice, validating I have New Leaf extended warranty. She responded stating she only provides support for Ferguson. We have been trying to have our GE refrigerator gaskets replaced, we are now going on three months! The first service technician appointment took 2 weeks to get, he showed up on time but with no replacement parts, even though we gave New Leaf all the information. He said they (GE) would order the part and we should have it within two weeks, and to call for another appointment. The gasket never arrived, our next call to New Leaf we were told, the gasket was back ordered and they would get back to me within two weeks......no calls at all. In the mean time, I went to the GE website and found the parts, available for next day shipping! Called New Leaf again, asked for a supervisor. They then came on and stated that they have been authorized to purchase the part from a third party vendor and will call be within one business day to schedule an appointment. It has been five business days!! I am on hold right now, next call is the Better Business Bureau!! read more

""Hello my name is Kayla and I'm calling with new leaf service contracts and I was reaching out for K Christopher some regards to an updated review that you had posted um I was just contacting you to let you know that we new leaf will be issuing an additional $95 to the 504 that you had received last summer which will bring the total amount back to you the products original purchase price of $599.95 previously it looks like you were issued $504.95 um out of the original purchase price of 599 as we were having to reserve the $95 to pay the service provider um but we will go ahead and issue that amount to _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ you should receive it within about 30 days to allow time for our back office to process and get the check out as well as time for the check to deliver a via USPS we apologize for the frustration of this process me a cost for you and we um hope that you accept this amount." So paying them there additional insurance fee doesn't count. They still held my money to pay the service provider.
