This store has a great selection of clothing and has fair pricing. The employees are kind and helpful. Will definitely be back!

I used to enjoy purchasing and trading clothing at Greene Street, especially when they had a store in Marlton, NJ. The manager would greet me by name, and we would talk about what items would be good to trade etc. since that place has closed, Greene Street has declined immensely. they are not polite, never see the same person twice, trading is inconsistent at best and pricing has gone up big time. Last straw was when I traded 25 pieces including Alo, Vans, Vineyard Vines, Jcrew, Cole Haan(an item I previously purchased there and changed my mind) They had a new system which the lady was having difficulty with but I just figured it was just learning a new system. a couple days later received an email stating all items declined with no reason. when I looked at my contract i noticed it was someone else's so I called only for the person who answered coming up with all sorts of reasons why declined before I finished with my inquiry which was that I was concerned if they mixed me up with someone else. when I finally was able to explain my situation, she just said that someone will email me back. Never happened. I don't live near the store nor do I have time to keep calling for an answer, this is just poor customer service. I tried to support this company but it has changed for the worse and I won't be shopping or trading there anymore. And to whoever reads and responds to the reviews, yes I know you've been around for many years and I hope you're around for many more, but please read some reviews from other companies who deal in hospitality, and learn how to respond to negative reviews because you come across rude and passive aggressive. read more

The sales staff here have been pleasant, but I mostly consign clothes here. If that's what you are doing then note you won't get a billion dollars for your stuff. I find they mostly have a price SET for certain items and it doesn't necessarily matter if they come from high end stores or run of the mill ones. Also you get a percentage based on that set price.............30% 40%. And when you get your check when the contract is finished it really is a small pittance, but if you do it regularly it adds up. I'm quite surprised at some of the clothing brands they do take cause some come from TJ Maxx which is in the same shopping center, some come from ummmmm Kohl's or Boscov's.............but hey if it's your style than go for it. And they do have some nice shoes and purses. I suppose the people who have high end name brand make out the best cause the percentage is higher. I would definitely visit the store if you thrift just know it's pricey- but you do get clean clothes. read more

This place is a joke. I've been browsing their inventory for the past year and a half; so, when I was told they only deal in "name brand high end designers," I thought I was in the twilight zone. The rude person inspecting my clothing never introduced herself and told me to go back to my closet and find more high end items then come back. (Not likely.) I find it ironic that this enterprise, part of Nordstrom, which is where most of my clothing is from, was not interested in pristine Nic and Zoe, Madewell, Zella, etc. Linen items she didn't recognize (bought in New Orleans and Miami, were also passed on. I bought this glasses and I went home and checked the authentication, these glasses were fake! They were in the wrong box. Versace has clg online authentication and this didn't have it. There's no return in this store so buyer beware! Update: tried to call the store and they said I have to contact the customer service over their fake glasses! Total waste of time! Update: I'm now dealing with the consignor saying she has receipts and this store is still refusing to take returns. The consigner basically said that she noticed that it is a wrong box, but the store took it and still resold them. The only solution is to bring it back where it was originally purchased to get the right CLG number (if it's authentic) but the store is of no help! There's other better consignment stores than this who knows what they are doing. This is a complete waste of time! Update: I got a refund. The consignor said she bought it and they placed it new box. I changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. Took of the stars for not catching the mistake. Versace and other brands use CLG to authenticate. read more

Go in for a laugh, or to be treated like sh*t Everyone remembers that scene in pretty woman where she's on rodeo drive . But why do I feel this way when I'm walking into a glorified thrift store? What strikes me as odd is that every single employee I've interacted with has had the same snobby attitude, and normally at any business, there are all types of personalities working there. So why this overall attitude? I was given a list of brands that they do not consign , such as target, zara, and other "fast fashion" brands but if you gave me 30 seconds, I could pull multiple items off their racks that are from target. I also recently got an email from corporate that they are questioning the authenticity of a pair of designer sunglasses that I consigned last month. They were purchased at Neiman Marcus and I included all booklets in original packaging so I'm not sure what else they are looking for. You're reading other reviews about how people don't like their contract and it's true- they will not remind you when your contract is up, so it's up to you to mark your calendar and get there in time to pick up any articles of clothing that did not sell. The first time I did a contract with them, I was sick with Covid during my pick up window and they ended up keeping a pair of Prada boots. I feel much better donating my clothing to a woman's shelter, and this will be the last time that I allow this thrift store to make me feel like dirt. "Fish and cut bait" is how I would describe this operation. They lure you in as a consigner wanting to list your high end items, and then reject them when you don't have original receipts. I brought them 6 LV purses/bags (all purchased from LV stores), and when I could not produce the original receipts (who has those from years ago), they rejected them. No one asked about receipts when I brought them in! Also, they kept referring to me by the wrong name in their email correspondence, so they can't even get the basics right. Most high end consignment companies (like the RealReal) do the authentication themselves! It was a colossal waste of time and energy! Go elsewhere! read more

Made an appointment weeks in advance to take in my 50 (maximum) pieces of "good" clean men's clothes. I drive 30 minutes to get to this location. After a 10 minute wait they took my clothes in the back, I assume they checked them but I doubt it because 5 minutes later they handed the entire pile back to me and said they weren't interested in anything! What a total waste of time. They left me holding a huge pile of clothes to lug all the way back to my car never offering any help. Don't waste your time the staff is rude!!! read more

AWFUL CONSIGNMENT. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! I consigned with them in May and had questions about my payment. It took me OVER A MONTH to finally get an answer from Dayna in accounting and she still hadn't answered my question. I emailed her 4 times and STILL nothing. I had to email the PRESIDENT of the company, Lynne who finally got back to me. And still Dayna was dismissive and unpleasant. Their customer service is substandard and they are not professional. Do not support this business! They never paid me for the clothes I gave them (which included name brands like Theory) and I'm sure sold them and kept the profit. read more

I've consigned with them several times and it is not worth your time or effort. I admittedly missed my reclaim deadline due to major personal health issues and tried to work it out with them and they were extremely rigid. They won't return my clothes to me. As a seller, I am also a customer so some flexibility would be appreciated. Without sellers, Greene Street would have no business. Additionally, if you want your unsold clothes back, even within the deadline, you must PAY Greene Street to get your clothes back. I recommend Poshmark if you'd like to sell as they have much better protections for sellers and you have the opportunity to make much more. I've also shopped around in Greene Street and have seen clothes with holes, stains, etc. I guess they'll be able to make some additional cash selling my clothes or taking them home... whatever they decide to do with them since they won't be returned to me. read more

Had an awful experience. Brought a designer dress in for assessment in July and was instructed to leave it and someone would be in touch. I got one voice mail that I tried to return 6 times over a 6 week period. Finally got through to someone and they told me to pick up dress (no explanation) I brought dress to them in perfect condition. When they brought it out it was in a dirty laundry bag all crumpled and wrinkled. I mentioned my disappointment to the store clerk and she made no apology or comment. I had such a nice shopping experience at Greene Street yesterday- I got some really good finds- a Theory blazer for $30 (that is $150 USED on Poshmark), Eileen Fisher blazer for $30 (pristine condition), a Seven blazer with tags still on (retails over $375, got for $50), lots of Vince and J Crew stuff. Got two 100% cashmere sweaters for $22 each. I will be back! read more

I highly suggest you don't consign with Greene Street. Highly inefficient and not "consigner-friendly." You sign an original contract and 6 weeks later you receive no notification that it is over and you have a few days to pick up your unsold clothes or you lose them. I called a few weeks after my expiration date since I hadn't heard anything and was told that something sold but I received no payment or notification. I was told it was too much to ask of them to communicate with the consigners about expiration dates or payment notification. Now I had to send an email to the payment department to chase down my money. Furthermore I dropped off merchandise worth hundreds of dollars which are now in their possession and I can't get back. They will get paid without having to pay me. It is a terrible operation that does not follow normal business practices to respect consigner partners. read more

I've never been to this store, only the one in Manayunk, so my co-worker asked if I'd like to stop in there en route back from our lunch in the same area. Walking in, the store is large and spacious. However, on closer inspection, many of the "finds" this store has are old, outdated and have some brutal wear and tear. I've found nicer, cleaner clothes at Impact Thrift Store (now Heaven's Treasures). Even a few of the shoes on the racks either above the clothing or out in front had a layer of dust on them that didn't appeal to me wanting to try them on anytime soon. What I found incredibly harsh was overhearing a conversation being had between the manager on duty (young, Asian woman) and a potential client bringing clothes. She was incredibly patronizing to the woman and listening to the potential client, she was getting annoyed by the attitude. I would have gotten annoyed as well. When the potential client left, an older worker in the store (blonde hair, too much makeup) started making a big fuss to the manager like "Hey, you showed HER!" It was rude, insulting and very unprofessional. My co-worker and I looked at each other and left. Like I said, there are far more reputable locations to visit than this one. It's disappointing to hear someone talk like that, within earshot of their customers about a potential client. They really need a class in professionalism in the workplace. read more

I shop year round for second hand clothing and always recieved great customer service. I came into this store on the 3rd of January and there was a lady at the counter she never bothered to help me even when I was standing there ready to check out. I just put my items back and left out. I wanted to give them another chance so I went in again on the 7th of January and it was like deja vu. I looked around for someone to help me and or at minimum to greet me, I got nothing. A lady appeared and it was the same lady that was at the computer before. She did not seem all that into her job. In a way that she had no desire to help me. People should be aware of the lack of customer service at this Greene Street. I left out very disappointed. I consigned here for the first time after my preferred consignment shop closed. This actually happened a few months ago, but it is still troubling me now, as I have more clothes to consign but can't bring myself to go back: I understand that this is a chain shop so the policy around pricing is set, but I was still shocked at the attitude of the manager who looked through my clothes. I was consigning some never-worn Michael Kors Collection (runway) items, including wool suit dresses that retail for over $1,500. While the staff had my clothing in the back, I asked the manager if I could point out the pieces so they wouldn't be mistakenly priced as "regular" Michael Kors dresses. She snapped at me that they know how to Google the style numbers, and that if I didn't want to consign there I could come pick up my items once they had been priced. That already made me nervous since I didn't really want my clothes on their selling floor without seeing what they would be priced. Sure enough, when I received the contract by email the next day, they priced my $1,500 dresses at $22! When I called to let the manager know, she said "Oh, well the different brands look similar. And runway stuff doesn't sell that well anyway." Needless to say, I asked her to pull my clothes from the store and I picked them up. In the same trip, I consigned a lace blouse that still had the tags on for $325, that Saks still had in stock on their website. The same manager commented that she would be buying the blouse herself. When I saw the pricing contract they priced it at $19, meaning I would make less than $10! I called and asked to take back that blouse as well. The manager sounded very disappointed. Again, I know they use third-party people to do the pricing, but considering how rude she had been to me, it left a bad taste in my mouth. You can find some great deals here because of this pricing model, but I felt so taken advantage of when I consigned that I don't think I'll ever shop there again either. read more

There's a few bright spots with two employees. Other than that, an employee spent time on their cell phone and was not helping as the store was a madhouse. The remaining employees were putting in 100% as they helped customer's in their dressing rooms, cashing them out and consigning. The store was extremely busy as one employee sat on their cell phone texting and barely raised an eye in the back of the store. It was extremely annoying as I hold a corporate position as a public relations director in retail. It's a detriment to this business. I will not return despite the hard working people who otherwise maintained professionalism and courtesy. It was quite a disappointment in terms of service as the only person available to help was on a cell phone texting and not paying attention to their surroundings and customer's clearly needing help as were the fellow employees. read more

How does this place have less than 5 stars? I've really gotten into consignment buying over the past few years both online and locally and the Greene Street in Gateway Shopping center is hands down my favorite place. Not only is there a HUGE selection of high quality items but I've found the staff to be nothing short of very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I also appreciate that they are abiding by COVID protocol during these times, too. Looking forward towards a new visit in a few weeks to spruce up my spring wardrobe! read more

Very big store with a fabulous selection of everything from dresses to jewelry! They seem to get new items in all the time so it pays to keep coming back. They stock better brands so no Target or Old Navy to sift through but at very reasonable prices! The staff is also super friendly and helpful and the management is really on top of things! Dropped off 2 lots of designer items. 2nd lot: was not satisfied with their pricing and emailed a request to hold on putting the items on the floor & I would come and pick them up. Was a slight delay due to a business trip I had. When I returned, I went to the store to collect my items and they were ALL out on the floor! I collected my items, minus the missing mint condition McQeen shoe box they somehow "lost" on a pair of NIB leather booties. (??!!!) & my Valentinos they had priced at $22 - not suggested to use for consignment. One star: you can get some good deals. read more

The customer service is horrible! I went to drop off some clothes in April and they fall clothes but some of them could be wearable in spring/summer! The lady I had looked at it for 2 minutes came back and said "we cannot take these". Didn't even give me an good example why she can't take them.It's sad to see such bad customer service. read more

Very disappointed in my recent consignment experience. There is a whole new system now. I am very annoyed at how it works. I did not Get a clear list of my items that sold and what they were sold for. I went to pick up my items that did not sell and they had lost a shoe. I would have been able to donate these. My total was 77 dollars to be put in PayPal or 128 in store credit. Hmmm. Now you are forcing me to shop at your store to get the most value out of my consigned items. NO THANK YOU. I will take my very good quality items to be consigned elsewhere. read more

I sold some things there after my husband passed away last year but boy, are they picky. My husband had beautiful clothes in mint condition. Some young, twink who examined them turned down several high-end suit jackets with the spurious reason "they're 3 button and the current fashion is for 2 button jackets". Seriously? Uh newsflash - it's not Paris folks - it's suburban Philadelphia. Get off your high horse. People who shop at consignment stores don't give a rats ass if the jacket has 3 buttons as opposed to 2 buttons. read more

If I could give no stars I would! Let me start by saying I took items to be consigned and my items were high end designer such has Burberry , Gucci, Ralph Lauren Black Label, Eileen Fisher etc.... i took a look around while they decided what to take and reject. Lets just say i wasnt impressed with there inventory! Low end clothes and dirty smelly soiled shoes, out of date handbags and nothing higher than coach! When I received my email with the inventory and prices I was shocked to see what they were selling them for! Might as well give them away! I could have received more money for them at a garage sale! I immediately called them and said I was picking up my items and not to sell anything! Already sold my Gucci slides for $200 (paid $400) which they had priced for $78!!!!! Will NEVER go there again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know on social media to BEWARE!!! read more

I first will inform you of some of Greene Street's policies. First, when you're consignment is up. You need to go into the store and find your unsold items. If they cannot find them, they will look for a week. Then if not, they can report it to them corporate office, but they are not responsible for lost or stole items. So I went in, they sorted my items. Signed the contract, the whole beginning process was easy. The time came for me to go collect my items. They could not find one of my bags. They asked if they should look for the item for another week (as part of their policy). I said yes. I called a week later to see if the bag was found. It was not. They said they could inform their corporate office, even though they might not do anything. I said, I would appreciate any routes that could be taken to be. I got an email from the corporate office saying, "although our policy states that Greene Street is not responsible for Lost, Stolen, Missing, or Damaged items, we are happy to compensate you in the form of a Greene Street gift card in the commission total of $5.98. Please keep in mind that this is a one-time courtesy." I was not happy with this resolution. I thought they would compensate me for my bag, not the commission amount, but that amount that they would have sold it for. I also that it would be a visa/cash amount, not one to their store. I decided to get the gift card anyway, since I did not want to fight with them. I walked into the store, and there was my bag! I addressed it with the manager and she gladly gave me my bag back. I did not make a scene, although I would have liked to. I will no longer be consigning there. read more

My wife and I have been to every Greene street location and while we like each store the Wayne Pa store is amazing and by far our favorite!!!! Liz and her team are friendly, very knowledgeable and always willing to help!!!! The store layout makes you feel like you are in a high end boutique!!! My wife has found many great items at phenomenal prices. We drive about an hour every other week to check out the new items. We have also consigned several items and Liz and the team make the process very easy!!! I am not one to normally take the time to write a review, but I was unpleasantly surprised to see that the only review here on yelp of one of my favorite stores was a highly negative one, so here I go: My mother, 24-year-old sister, and I (22 y.o.) had been going to the Bryn Mawr Greene Street for years and have always looked forward to the consistently wonderful shopping experience. We were thrilled when the Gateway Greene Street opened 5 minutes away from our house, and have shopped there many times for shoes, dresses, shirts, etc and have been very pleased. The clothes are in good (sometimes great-as in never worn) condition and available for insanely affordable prices. The only exception to that statement would be that I recently found 2 great dresses--one from BCBG Maxazria and the other from Alice+Olivia-- on the sale rack with some wear and tear, but the prices ($7 and $5 respectively) were so cheap that I was very happy to snap them up and have them easily repaired at a huge fraction of what the original retail prices were for the dresses. Definitely recommend this place not only for the stylish, affordable clothing, but also for the shopping experience. In my experience, the salespeople are helpful, enthusiastic, and fun without being over the top. read more

They will buy your used clothes but you must have at least 10 items for them to look at. They like high end and well named name brand things. And they will sort through your clothes (not in front of you) and tell you what they will keep. You have the opportunity to either donate or pick anything that didn't sell back up. And the items sold will appear in check form in your mailbox 3 months later. I had 10 high end items of which they took in (banana Republic, Anthropologie, Lululemon, sergio Rossi, etc). I chose to pick my items back up if they didn't sell. Three months later I received a check for $11.16. I have purchased from them as well and to date I have had a pair of heels that appeared to be glued together after the heel came off while I was walking (first time I wore them). There was a rio that I didn't notice in a split in a dress and purchased, which I had a tailor fix. And a fake coach purse. They are not very helpful unless you look like you have money. So I'm guessing the sales people's Lee are paid in commission. Regardless, they left a very bad taste in my mouth. And, quite honestly, I feel like they stole from me. read more
