I'm searching for the best pizza around the Concord area including Bedford, Acton, and maybe Lexington. Here's my current pizza ranking around the Concord, MA area: New London Pizza (Concord Center, Greek style): 7.2 This is my go-to for convenient, local Greek pizza, but they close early and stop taking orders after 8PM. $10 for a small, 10" sausage pizza. Steve's House of Pizza (Bedford, Greek style): 7.2 Very good. At the same level as New London. Also, they are the least expensive at $7.75 for a small, 10" sausage pizza and they stay open later. They are cash only. Sorrento's Brick Oven Pizzeria (Concord Center, traditional pizza): 7.1 When New London is closed, then I head to Sorrento's for quick, easy, local pizza. The dough is more like a soft, pita bread. It's not Napoli, New York, or New Haven style. They load the pizza with toppings. It's $12.50 for a 12" pizza. Dino's Pizza (West Concord, Greek style): 6.8 The pizza isn't the best. The crust is too much like white bread and the sauce is too sweet. It's $10.50 for a small 10" sausage pizza. Here are some other pizzas within driving distance of Concord, MA: Spice Box (Lexington, Indian pizza): 7.0 My first Indian pizza - chicken tikka pizza. It's loaded with toppings - edge to edge with chicken, onions, cheese and cilantro. It's slightly sweet. If you like Hawaiian pizza then you might like this pizza. The crust is very thin. It's crisp around the edges, but the rest of the dough is soft and grainy. Also, it's expensive - $17 for a medium and $22 for a large 16" pizza, but you do get a lot of chicken on it. I'm giving it a 7.0 because it's unique and it's not bad pizza, but it doesn't make me want to go back for more. Pepe's (Burlington Mall, New Haven pizza, white clam pie): 7.9 Pepe's has become a chain of franchises and the quality varies by location. I've been to some very good and some not good locations. The good news is that the Pepe's in Burlington is good to very good. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, when you're ordering takeout, all pizza just isn't as good as hot out of the oven. Their white clam pie is one of my favorites anywhere. The crust is crispy as New Haven pizza should be. And this time, the crust was perfect for my preferences - not too burnt as coal fired pizza often can be. The only reasons why I didn't rate this pizza higher is because of the covid-19 takeout factor and it's a good drive from Concord. I would only go there if I'm already in the area, or if I have a real urge for the clam pie. My background: I've had some of the best pizzas in the US and Italy. I'm also going to rank these pizzas using the one-bite pizza review scoring 1-10. For that scoring: 9's are best in class pizza anywhere, 8's are worth driving to, 7's are very good local pizza, 6's are okay because they're convenient, but they're not my favorites. 6's will be Yelp 3 stars, 7's will be Yelp 4 stars, and 8's will be Yelp 5 stars. In my opinion, I haven't had a pizza in the Boston area that I would rate a 9. My favorite local pizza was Papa Gino's until they closed all the local stores. And I don't understand why people rank Santarpio's pizza so highly. I love sitting at the bar, drinking a beer, having kabobs and pizza, but the pizza isn't that great. The greatest pizzas that I've ever had in no particular order: DiFara's (Domenico De Marco, NY), Pizzeria Bianco (Chris Bianco, AZ), Pepi in Grani (Franco Pepe, Caiazzo IT). read more

As a Connecticut transplant I was excited to see this place nearby. I've tried the pizza as well as the grinders and both were fine. Compared to the CT pizza and grinder shops they don't stand up to the original. Grinders are more like a dinky MA sub shop so that was a bummer. I'm still on the look out for any sub/grinder shop that makes grinders as big as they do back home. A girl can dream. read more

There is nothing compelling about the appearance of this pizza parlor that would make me choose it over the neighboring Sorrentos. I followed my dad in because I don't know any better. About three of the guys working here look related, and the rest look otherwise serious, maybe bored. But wow, those were some flavorful pies! Get spinach and artichoke on your pizza, or the Greek if you like saltier cheese. They also had a sexy little piece of cake on display that I almost bought. This is a staple in concord and has been for as long as I can remember. The pizza is on the thicker crust side, buttery/flakey, and heavy on the cheese. But keep in mind the spicy fries aren't really that spicy... Their subs are also really good (I think better than the pizza)! My husband and I live in Concord We used to order from here all the time. Last couple of orders have been not very good tonight we ordered a pizza with triple pepperoni and cheese we got one piece of pepperoni per slice, seriously. Won't be ordering from here again, also ordered a chicken ceasar which oddly had opposite problem, all chicken no salad except for one piece of lettuce. And DoorDash are idiots as well as we have a thing on our account that they won't reimburse us for orders because of our account, so sorry were customers who have an opinion of their service. This is the pizza of my childhood. When TCBY moved in across the street to great fanfare in the early 90s, New London had been there for many years. When it left and and Sorrentos Pizza came in, New London persevered. New London lived on as Papa Ginos disappeared and Chang Ans was built. Before I had a car, but when I was walking around town without parents, getting excited about my new-found freedom, New London was the place to go. When I did have a car, I used it to pick up pizza since they don't and have never delivered...memories of warm 'za in a box on my lap as I headed home with friends... I love meat on my pizza and veggies -- the Works. But at New London, I always get the same thing. CHEESE PIZZA. It's thick, the crust sucks, but it's excellent, oily, cheesy mess, best 2 minutes out of the oven. I'd gladly burn the roof of my mouth to bite into fresh pizza from New London. Been coming here before I could read, mostly because for a while it was the ONLY pizza in town. This was before Sorrento's and Papa Ginos (now gone). I pretty much grew up eating the pizza and fries, and occasionally the subs. Once you hear the bell when you open the door, it's the classic New London bell...I remember when I was younger I turned off the light switch a couple times (because it was in the doorway). I've had so many good/bad/teenage/childhood/adult memories I wouldn't know where to begin, so let's just cut to the food. Yes I have grown to like deep dish pizza, and there are times where New London sounds like it will hit the spot...other times I have felt sick to my stomach. As a whole, I never thought New London was "the best pizza ever" but not the worst either, I always thought they could step it up. Hit or miss. I feel as though the whole kitchen isn't really clean, and over the years, the management/employees seem to be getting ruder. The price is getting higher too, and that's why I don't go there as often anymore. I did find a bug like a worm or something coming out of the crust of a slice of pizza there, and they've reheated pizzas when we've ordered a fresh one...I don't really trust the people there. The regulars I was used to seeing in the 90s and 00's seemed to have moved on....I see some familiar faces sometimes..but you never know. As of lately, they need to step it up. But I'll always love New London just because of my history with it, not necessarily the best food in the world. The prices have gotten higher, the people there are getting ruder. I have been going to this place since I was a very young man. This place is not gourmet nor classy. But it is authentic Greek pizza & sub joint. I have three distinct memories of this place. All of them revolve around my typical order. Small toasted turkey with lettuce, cheese pickles and mustard. The memories are the following. - At the age of 12 my Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) team won our division and I scarfed down the sub in what seemed like 1 min - New to driving as well as dating I entertained my first summer romance to an apre movie experience of a tasty dinner here. - As an adult sitting with my child hood friends around a booth on a Saturday afternoon after playing whiffle ball and having my friend tell all of us he and his wife are having their first baby. This is a 5-star rating based on how well it executes what I go there for - highest quality, most satisfying, best value subs anywhere. I don't just mean Concord. I put this up against Al Capone's in Boston, Hoagie Haven in Princeton, etc. The Pizza used to dominate the Concord market, but has gotten some competition from across the street. Now it's a style preference -- greek style? Can't beat NewLondon. Neopolitan? go across the street. My favorites: Buffalo Chicken sub and Turkey sub. A small is about a foot long and PLENTY for lunch -- $5.50. Love the Buffalo Wings on their own as well, although I can't understand the nickle-and-dime charge of 50 cents if you want BOTH blue cheese and dipping hot sauce, on top of the $7.95. Another great takeout for 2 is a small cheese pizza and greek salad with italian dressing. read more

I always have loved going here - and still do - with my big brother. We always get the same thing... large cheese pizza. Delicious pizza! Greasy, but yummy! I remember going here when we were kids to buy a pizza. We'd then go to Video Revolution (R.I.P.) right down the street (just a few doors down), rent a movie or NES game, take the pizza and movie/NES game home, and eat and watch/play. This was also the meal of many-a-birthday party for me growing up as a kid. It's so memorable that my best childhood friend and I occasionally grab a pizza from New London. The other week he ate most of a small pepperoni pizza and most of a large cheese!!! I was amazed. He always associates New London with my birthday parties when we were younger. I do, too, but I also associate it with my brother and renting games and movies. The three of us were there for New London's (to the day) 50th Anniversary. If I get to choose my last meal on earth it will be an Italian sub from New London Style. I've been getting them for years - decades actually - and have never found another that can compare. Even if you're eating in I'd suggest getting it wrapped to go since somehow that makes the oil, etc seep in and it tastes much better than when served open. They've added a list of fun facts about New London Style on the wall and it turns out that the Italian is the all-time favorite sub they sell. The current bestseller is the Buffalo Chicken which sounds delicious but would mean forgoing my favorite so I've yet to try it. Be sure to check out the pizza too. Nowadays they sell it by the slice so you can get your pizza fix even if you get a sub. It's excellent and the crust tastes like candy. Last time we were there I looked out the window and wondered how on earth Sorrento's can survive with New London Style across the street. Different strokes I guess... But if you weren't sure what you find at New London Style you'll be pleasantly surprised.
