Every trip to the East Coast demands a visit to a pizzeria and we could not be more pleased than our meal at Enzina in Waltham. Enzina sits in a 19th century brick building that it shares with its sister bakery. It seats about 12 tables so reservations are highly recommended. We were greeted promptly by the manager who was genuinely friendly - warmth is not a trait shared by most Bostonians. We ordered a large sausage pizza. The crust is made fresh daily by Enzina's bakery while the sauce is made in-house. The sausage is the star here - made locally by a high street Italian butcher shop. The final product was a masterpiece of east coast pie - firm crust, properly sauced, and a compelling amount of the delicious Italian sausage. We alo ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese which was some of the best we have ever enjoyed. The sauce is made from veal, pork, and beef and only served on the day it is made (leftovers is given to a local food bank.) The house-made pasta was perfectly al dente. We would rate this Bolognese in our all-time Top Ten, which is saying a lot. Typical trattoria ambiance, prompt service, and delicious fare! Enzina is a must visit. read more

I was hopeful when my son and I found this place on our trip. It's a lovely spot with a trattoria-like setting - very warm and inviting. An older gentleman welcomed us graciously and seated us. We had their large margarita pie - delicious with fresh shredded basil - absolutely perfect with a nice char on the crust. I'd like to go back and try their stagione pizza since I'm crazy for artichokes. Their pastas looked wonderful as well. And it's great for customers to know that they offer a gluten-free menu - which is likely as good as their regular one. read more

I'm sorry to report that Enzina has gone way downhill with the current manager. We ordered the scampi pizza and it came without olives. I asked for a new pizza and the manager said that the kitchen had closed and he couldn't make a new pizza. He said he could either take the pizza away (!) and not charge us for it, or have us eat it and charge us for it. He literally started walking away with the pizza. First of all, it's 8:25 and the restaurant closes at 9:00. Second, people came in after this exchange and placed a to-go order. I can't believe how horrible and aggressive this manager was. I will never be returning to this establishment as long as he is employed. I have truly never experienced anything like this in my many years of dining out. I've been coming to Enzina literally since they opened and can't believe my family and I are receiving this level of service. read more

The staff were very friendly and communicative; great vibes overall. The pizza tastes even better - crispy and warm and mozzarella freshly melted. It was just perfect and the tomato sauce was subtle to complement the toppings. The tiramisu beat my expectations - made me wanting seconds. Will definitely come back to try out other pizzas. I gave in to making a Yelp account solely to give a review of enzina pizzeria. I love this place. The Vegeterania pizza that I got was so flavorful and you really tasted the brightness of the vegetables in the most delicious way. The basil was so savory and fresh; the roasted peppers were just barely caramelized; the onion wasn't too overpowering. The crust is a little crispy on the edges, chewy, and dry and puffy in some parts. The large pizza is pretty big so I think it's a decent value. I have also had this scampi pizza and another kind, which were both pretty good, but the Vegeterania is one of my favorites. Pick up and check out were super smooth and easy. Parking extremely convenient. I also love the bakery next door, which had absolutely delicious ricotta coconut ball things (gluten free, smooth, creamy, not too sweet or cloying). I've driven by this place many times...and we had family in town and finally had a reason to go there. This place has some of the most delicious Italian style brick oven pizza, fabulous antipasti like roasted eggplant and meatballs and the lightest fried calamari you'll ever have! We walked in at the same time as a couple. They were greeted first and admitted to not having a reservation. When they greeted us, I was expecting the same treatment. Although the taste off food here is mind blowing amazing, ( vegan menu) I had a mishap with customer service. Think about this scenario? I order from a delivery service, delivery' shows up late and wrong. Driver also places food on ground, outside of building door like trash. So wrong that it's a pepperoni pizza with pork can't even taste it. I called the restaurant back no Manager there, I'm SOL. Through my persuasion I got the owners phone number and told him what happened and this is what he suggested; Since he lives in the same town that my order was delivered to. He opted to come by and pick up the order so he could take it back to the restaurant. For me to call back the restaurant and to re-order my food through the same service since they're crediting me back for the original order and he will make sure it's done correctly. In theory this should sound like an unbelievable error and Customer Service moment , but it wasn't. He just wanted his product back and could care less about me and in fact offered to pick up some thing for me from someplace else like McDonald's, made me want to scream from the highest mountain top ITS NOT VEGAN!!! He didn't care that I'd have to wait another hour hour and a half to get my food, he didn't care about me and my feelings he cared about his loss and the error. Commenting he opted to help me get something to eat from McDonald's, what would he like me to order from there barbecue sauce? Even the french fries are marinated and beef fat. We met out of state relatives here for lunch. They brought their dog so we asked to sit outside. Even though it had rained, they were able to accommodate us. Our waiter was great and very accommodating. The manager John came out to check on us a couple of times too. We got their delicious pizza - 1 small cheese and 1 large pepperoni. I've been wanting to try Enzina since they opened -- I've heard great things. But since I live about 30 minutes away, it always felt like a bit of a trek just for dinner. When I saw them on Too Good To Go, I was genuinely excited -- I thought, this is perfect! I get to try a few things, support a local business, and finally have a reason to make the drive. But what I got honestly felt like a letdown. For $7, the app said I'd receive $18-$20 worth of food -- but all I got were two small pieces of bread, and not even anything to write home about. No meal, no variety, nothing close to what was promised. I stood there holding the bag, feeling disappointed and honestly a little embarrassed after telling friends how excited I was to go. I'm not trying to be dramatic or rude -- just honest. I really wanted to love this place, and I came in with good intentions. I left still hungry and feeling like I got taken advantage of. And look -- I get it. Times are tough, especially for small businesses. I support that, I truly do. But $7 for two tiny pieces of bread? I didn't expect anything fancy, just something fair. Something close to what was promised. Now to be fair: the inside of the restaurant is beautiful, and I'll give them that. The space was clean, well-designed, and inviting -- I'd give it 4 stars on that alone I'm nothing if not fair. I've used Too Good To Go many times before and have always had great experiences. First, their pizzas and panzerotti are really really good: great dough, generous toppings and fresh ingredients. I was born and raised in Italy, so I have had authentic pizza my whole life and I do recommend them. But also, they are kind. I just had a snafu with the delivery (which they use a third party for, so NOT their personnel) which was absolutely my fault (typed the street # wrong) and they just re-made my order, free of charge. They didn't have to, and they still did, with a PACKED place and a line of people waiting for their order, they just added mine to the queue. I cannot say enough nice things about them. read more
