While I truly appreciate the skill of my nail technician, the front desk experience has consistently been a source of frustration. On multiple visits, the two younger women working the front desk have come across as dismissive and bothered -- whether I'm checking in, asking a simple question, or processing payment. I've also overheard negative remarks made about other customers, which was uncomfortable to witness. Additionally, I've found it difficult to accommodate basic requests, such as being seated with a friend or requesting a specific nail tech. The front-of-house experience has made it difficult to justify returning. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I believe it reflects a larger pattern that may be affecting other customers as well.

Accidents happen and so I don't necessarily think that this is representative of their abilities, but she also didn't really do anything to put me at ease that it was getting disinfected for the rest of the service. I also booked one of the more elite pedicure options (NOT just a polish change to say the least), but the tech barely got any of my dead skin off which I would've expected in my very extra service option of a pedicure. What I found the most shocking was that despite making me bleed, before they went to paint my nails they came to me with a QR code to give them a 5 star Google review, which I think was quite bold to do as my toe was still red and bleeding lol. I'd imagine if you made your customer bleed you'd probably want to offer some sort of consolation rather than forcing them to submit a positive review. Based on reviews it does look like people are overall happy with their results, and again, I don't necessarily think that one accident should define the overall abilities for a tech (which is why I am not naming), but from this experience it kind of seems like some of these reviews may be getting forced during the service as that is what happened to me. Separately, I think some of their sample colors don't actually match their nail polishes - the color I chose and what ended up on my feet ended up being two different tones where I thought I'd chosen a peach pink and it came out super cool toned.

Mary was so rough on my feet and cut all my toes up so bad that she had to use the green solution to stop the bleeding, the scrubbing was so rough that I walked out of there feeling worse than I came. Now i understand some Spanish but i don't speak it and she said some rude things about me to her coworker because i asked her to paint my toes right. I told the owner that she was so rough and he acted like he didn't understand what I was saying and just said "she's always like that"....thats a problem. Seeing that this was my first time there, i will not rate the business as a whole....just don't get a pedicure by Mary.

The nail spa itself is very nice, clean, and was consistently being sanitized by workers while I was in there. The pedicure chair was one of the most comfortable ones I've sat in, and I loved the little touch screen tablet used for the massage features. The woman who did my nails was very kind and we had some great conversation. She talked me through each step and let me know price differences for each type of pedicure. Prior to Legendary, I used to to drive up to Lincoln Park or Lakeview to get mani / pedis. I've been a number of times for both gel manicures, nail art and pedicures. I have naturally strong nails so I've never tried their gel overlay that others rave about. This place is $$ than others around, but for the most part you're getting good quality service. I will say I'm not a huge fan of their pedicure chairs, they're aesthetically pleasing but not the most comfortable. Booking can also be a challenge, but if you plan ahead you should be just fine.
