Staff does not speak English well (not at all with the stylist I had, another had to translate) and did not give me the haircut I asked for ("ivy league long", even with reference images!) and did not pause or check for clarification so by the time I found out what they had done it was too late. The cut I received was drastically shorter than anything I had shown (I came in with hair long enough to make anything) so it couldn't have been a concession due to me not having the length required, it was definitely inexperience plus the language barrier. Do not come here unless you are fluent in spanish and want short hair. They generally don't seem to know how to handle longer men's styles (100% of the styles they had advertised were much much shorter, mostly on the fade and buzz cut side.) read more

I go there every two months for a man's haircut. Got a high fade a few days ago and I kept getting compliments on my cut the following days. Celina is professional and welcoming, she's very talented and detail oriented. She only charges $30 for a haircut that barbers would charge double or more for. Today I took my two year old for his second ever haircut (first one somewhere else), we had the best experience with Celine (maybe misspelling?) My son was a handful and cried pretty much the whole time, but she was incredibly patient and kind with us. She was fast, caring and the haircut came out amazing! I wanted to get a quick haircut before attending an event, and called this Salon to see if I could book a same day appointment. I was able to book for that afternoon, and the gentleman who cut my hair (who I assume was Jack) did a great job. It seemed like he put a lot of care into the cut, occasionally pausing to ask if I liked how things looked, and taking his time to make sure everything was neat and even. There wasn't a lot of chitchat, but honestly that was fine with me. I just got to relax and watch the neat fishtank he keeps nearby. The resulting cut was just as good, if not better, than the $90 cuts I've gotten elsewhere, for a third of the price. This will definitely be my go-to stop in the future! read more

Super competitive prices for a simple men's cut, and there's water and snacks available if you have to wait (but I've always scheduled an appointment). The backside isn't even aligned correctly. He is a great guy and everything, but I am completely disappointed. This place is absolutely fantastic! I needed a quick haircut before Burning Man and wanted a spot that gave quality for a good price. Most everything I saw in the area has men's cuts starting at $25. This place started at $15!! Jack is the name of the guy that owns he place. He is a fantastic stylist. Very good attention to detail. I could tell from the way that he faded the sides and trimmed the top that he really cares about the quality of his work. He gave me a fantastic haircut with a great fade. I left extremely satisfied with the service. Jack provides instant coffee, tea, and some small snacks for those that wait. What an amenity to provide for such low prices of his work!! At the end of the haircut he placed a hot towel around the sides and back of my head and used it to wipe those areas plus my ears as well. He also gave a quick shoulder massage to end it!!! I searched hard for the best haircut repair person. The internet told me to try Jack. I did. His English is fine. We listened to the Coachella playlist. His skill was apparent. When Jack was done, he repeatedly reassured me that I could come back anytime within a week and he'd make any adjustments I'd like. They take credit cards. Jack works every day but Saturday. I came in with my guy so he could get a haircut and reminded me that they cut women's hair too. I wasn't sure about it since I considered this a barbershop but....Jack was there. Apparently, Jack is working full time for the owners. He worked at salons mainly in Berkeley and Mill Valley and folks have followed him to this location. I have thick, wavy Latina hair that is not easy to cut and style. Jack evened out a previous bad cut and layered it just how I wanted. I was so relieved and I feel refreshed. Jack also does mani/pedi so I took him up on a mani and also did a great job. I suggest coming to give Jack a try. The storefront is not glamorous and the salon is basic but don't let it fool you. I'm a student so I wanted to find something affordable in SF. I was not disappointed by Jack. He was very friendly, fast and knew what he was doing, I was very satisfied with my haircut. This is a great place to go if you want great results for a fraction of what it will cost you elsewhere. I remember getting a $50 haircut at some high end hair salon, which took over an hour for them to cut and looked ok when I left the salon, but was so hard to take care of when I got home. It looked horrible after the first wash. I actually went to New Look Salon to get them to recut my hair again. It only cost $10 but the results was so much more satisfying then my first haircut. Not only did it look good after they were done, it was easy to maintain; it continued to look good for months after my hair grew out. I love coming in for my haircut, Jack is amazing! After hunting for so long for a reasonably priced and good barber I was so glad that I stopped by to meet the true gentleman that is Jack. The salon has such a relaxing atmosphere, a nice Asian theme with subtle incense burning, small water features and popular music on in the background I truly feel relaxed when I leave. They're pretty much my go to barbershop anytime I need a trim and it's really easy to just call them and see if they're available at a given time. Great little full service salon. They do haircuts, color, nails and waxing. I received a gel manicure and pedicure as did my 3 year old daughter from Jack. I also got an eyebrow wax. He was super friendly, easy and fun to communicate with. The salon space was very clean and tidy. Jack also offered us beverages and my daughter even got to enjoy a delicious tangerine among the other snacks the salon had on hand for customers. Another highlight of our experience was that Jack played music on a video screen via YouTube which was a 70s /80s play list. It was so fun to watch all of the vintage videos with each song. We were both very happy with our services. There was another customer on the way out when we arrived who had just received a haircut from Jack and he commented how happy he was with his haircut as he was leaving. This little shop on the Mission/Bernal area is a great value for a men's hair cut. I can go just down the street to a "barber shop" but I can get a better haircut here without the higher price.
