I have been coming to Glow since 2018 and Lisa has been a maestro all those seven years. My longest relationship ever. I've experienced different types of waxing in different parts of the US and Europe and nobody does it better than her. My smoothness last so long, it's hard to believe it every time. I've never has any issues with ingrowns, or anything at all. The cost/speed/availability/quality is all top. The atmosphere is always calm and pleasant, and finding parking has never been an issue for me. The location is very close to most Bay Area towns, and with lots to do nearby. I made a last minute appointment for a Brazilian the day before my vacation since my usual ladies were booked up for the day - and I'm glad I found this place! I called around 230pm the day after Christmas and Lisa was able to squeeze me in at 4. I got to the place around 345pm - parking was pretty easy to find and there's a sign that points to the shop on the streets so it wasn't too hard to find. My time came and it's always awkward going to a new person to get a Brazilian, but Lisa made things not awkward and had a friendly conversation. She's also fast and efficient af, and gets every hair. She's quite detailed and used both hard and soft wax during the process. Overall, I had a really great experience here! I would definitely come back if my usuals are booked or if it's an emergency. First time getting a Brazilian wax and I was extremely uneasy because I didn't know what to expect. Making an appointment was easy! I called in asking any available slots for the next day and Lisa was able to fill me in. Parking is not too bad so you can always expect to find parking. Back to business, the location is located downstairs in a building. It has one big room that performs all the services, one small hallway that has a seating area, and a bathroom at the end of the hall. Lisa guided me throughout the whole process, reassuring me that it was to be quick and easy. There were times when I couldn't say more than one word because of the pain LOL. But the small talk definitely helped me through the process by keeping me somewhat distracted. I believe she used both hard wax and soft wax in certain areas. To be honest, I was looking at the ceiling the whole time to keep me distracted. But I felt the strips so it's safe to say soft wax was involved. Ahh the tweezing at the end felt like quick pinches. She's so nice and friendly and makes the experience very comfortable. I love how she pretends to not notice every time I yell talk at her when she rips my hairs out. :') she carries a casual conversation well for a person who is ripping out your pubes. Let me start out by telling you guys that this was my first experience with waxing ever. I've never had my legs, eyebrows, or anything waxed before. I went straight for it, and got a Brazilian wax. Just had my very first Brazillian wax today by Veronica and she was amazing. Being new to the whole experience she was super understand and helpful in explaining the process, both what was occurring during the waxing process and post-care waxing instructions. The whole experience was great, I called today completely last minute wondering if any appointments were available later, I had finally gotten over myself and was willing to take the plunge. Veronica had to check in with her other estheticians to see if one could come in and gave me a call back saying that she could do it herself at the time I had requested. Honestly exceptional customer service and I was very impressed. The place itself is a little removed from the street but super clean and inviting. You could easily pass it if you don't know what you are looking for but because of previous reviews I kept an eye out for it and found it no problem. Parking was super easy with 1 hour spots right out front and because Veronica was so quick I was in and out no problem. While it was hardly a painless process, because come on we are talking about waxing a very intimate area, Veronica was great at keeping conversation going and trying to keep my mind off what was happening. It was by far less painful than I'm sure other places would be, and she was very thorough. She definitely made it an experience that I would be willing to do again and definitely will be repeating when it's next time to wax. I am so happy that I finally went in and tried this place because it as definitely worth it. I know it's only gotten a couple of reviews, but I took the risk. I'm really, really glad I did! When I scheduled an appointment, they were very flexible with my schedule. Whew- yeah, a lot of work needed to be done. I needed to be prepared for Vegas! Lisa greeted me when I arrived. She was super friendly and professional. She made me feel very comfortable- and I think that's a huge deal when you are about to do a Brazilian! Thankfully, Lisa was quick and efficient for my Brazilian. Yes, it hurt a tad- but I wasn't surprised. Duh, there's wax down there. Let's just say it was totally worth it, and for sure I will be back next month. For the eyebrows, I loved it!! I'm the type that asks for it to just look "clean". Lisa went above and beyond and took the time to shape it as well. I really appreciated that. For the armpits, excellent! Had my first, ever brazilian wax today, done by Lisa. Let me just start by saying this place is definitely living up to the well deserved 5 star reviews they get. Lisa is super social, very informative, and does everything clean and neat. I was literally in and out within 12-15 minutes. She greeted me right when I came in, and made me feel a lot more relaxed. She did a very good job at keeping me distracted, so for my first time, it didn't hurt as much as I imagined (but it still did hurt!). Just an CLEAN, amazing and quick job, done by a very friendly professional. The place overall is extremely clean. There's no question about that. I was on the fence between continuing to shave and waxing, but after today's experience, I am officially hooked. I don't think I will ever result back to shaving. Waxing is just such a faster, cleaner, and easier way. If you are in the position that i was in (shave vs wax), i say give this place a try and you will definitely be choosing waxing from now on. Some tips for first timers like me: -Lisa mentioned that hair should be about 1cm long or more to get a really good waxing. So come hairy! -parking is mostly metered and if you just go about half a block down from the place, you should be able to find parking no problem. You can even park in the 30 min spots if you're just getting a section waxed - it's really that fast. -the store front is down a couple of steps from the sidewalk, so you're not going to see the front driving by, but you will see the sign. -it does hurt. Im not going to pretend it didn't. But having someone as friendly as Lisa made the process a lot less painful. I will be going to Lisa from now on, for any waxing. Can't thank her enough! read more

After 3 brazilians and many many eyebrow waxes, I knew it's about time to write this place a review. My first visit here was definitely unplanned. I was desperately needing a brazilian when I came across this place. The salon was obviously new but I took the risk since I was in the neighborhood. Honestly after my first visit, I was really hooked with Lisa. At first I just went in for a brazilian and my free check-in armpit wax. Because I didn't like my usual eyebrow waxer THAT much.. I gave Lisa a try. One thing I really like about Lisa is her attention to detail. She seriously got every single little baby hair. My old waxer tends to leave like a few tiny ones by my eyelid.. which pisses me off because it means I have to pluck that area myself. Bottom line, Lisa is super fast, very professional, and SUCH a sweetheart! Not only that, but she also gives the best tips on clothes and shoes! Every time I see her, I always ask her where she got her outfit from. I really recommend this place for you first time waxers. My first few times waxing at another salon, I had to suffer being waxed by that dreadful soft-wax. This place uses hot-wax that makes your experience soo much less painful. Lisa also loves talking so she pretty much takes your mind off of the pain and all the awkward positions you're laying in. Plus, she only takes about 10-15 minutes for a brazilian, so you'll be in and out just like that! Don't worry about parking, there are TONS of parking around the block. These stars are for Veronica! She has been doing my Brazilian waxes for a few years now and is the only one I trust and feel comfortable with for my Brazilians. She's quick, she's thorough, and pain level is very low. On top of it all she is very sweet and nice to chat with. I had tried several other estheticians before her and none were as thorough or as friendly as her, and none of their Brazilians were as quick and painless. Plus, all but one of those other people did nothing to make an uncomfortable and awkward situation any less so. Another great thing about seeing Veronica is that her prices are on the lower side - only $40 for a Brazilian. FYI her services are by appointment only. Also, the salon is located on School Street and the time I went to see her which was midday on a Friday (my first time here since she just recently moved from another waxing salon) there was one parking spot available about a block up from Glow. It was a metered spot so make sure to bring some change just in case you can't find a non-metered spot. There were green metered parking spaces available nearby, which, depending on the time limit (I don't know what it is), you may get away with parking at since she is pretty quick! (Though you might want to time your first visit to see how long it lasts and if it's short enough to park in one of those spots.)
