The hubs had concerns about being able to get a good massage, as his masseuse was a slightly built fellow. But his concerns were unfounded, because the gentleman was trained to use leverage to work out the knots and his shoulder pain was greatly alleviated! We felt in no hurry to rush off as our hostess/ proprietor presented us a snack of organic berries, gluten free granola and water. Our stomachs had been talking during the massage. They also do crown chakra and energy work. They also sell beautiful cruelty free clothing. And the cherry on the top, I GOT A SITTER FOR NAP TIME FOR THIS. Instead of being welcomed or treated with any basic human kindness, I was met with judgment, coldness, and passive aggression. I waited 10 minutes in the lobby with no explanation. Then another stretch of time changing and awkwardly waiting alone in a room after being told to undress--for a facial. The esthetician acted like I had completely ruined her day. Her tone was sharp. She was curt. And not once did she check in with me emotionally--even though I was clearly rattled. This was not some petty inconvenience. This was supposed to be a gift. A pause. A moment of peace. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, humiliated, and more stressed than when I walked in. And it didn't stop there. I shared all this with three front desk staff before leaving. I told them--genuinely--that this appointment meant a lot to me. I asked for support. I was told the spa no longer calls guests to remind them to arrive early (even for 12:00 PM appointments), and that the owner/manager would call me. I waited six days. Nothing. I called again.
