This is a great place to have in the small town of Dallas. They have had their first store in Corvallis for years and in recent years have opened this Dallas location. They are a great breakfast and lunch place for to go or they have a nice area to dine in. Often on the weekends we will get take out breakfast to go. They also make great holiday pies. You can order in advance and pick up right before the holiday. Service is order at the counter pick up at the counter. They also have a reward system through an app which affords you some money off after so many purchases. All in all a great stop. read more

I have no complaints about the service ethic I've encountered here in three visits, nor my coffees, usually mochas, which I would rate as much above average. The pastries have not impressed me, scones or a loaf of Christmas fruitcake, 3/4 of which I threw in the garbage. Firstly, I'll preface by saying I read the reviews posted about people walking in without being acknowledged. The only people who really care about that are Karens, boomers, or both. (Insert venn diagram of Karens and boomers and their intersectionality here). If you go to a business specifically looking for a greeting or a sign that the person serving you is ecstatic to do so, maybe just don't. I came with money to exchange for a service rendered, and that's what I got. That said, the two employees working there were amazing. It was a busy morning today, and I was immediately greeted with a truly enthusiastic "welcome in!" And the space is large, so they had to shout it from the counter to reach my acknowledged and validated ears. They were both pleasant and friendly, and my mocha was great. They had a wide selection of pastries, and the strawberry cheesecake square thingy I got was also great. It was all smiles and friendliness, and quick service, even with a bunch of people all at once. My husband and I discovered New Morning Bakery when we first moved to Dallas and were walking around downtown. They have biscuits and gravy all day, which I really enjoy, or if you want a breakfast sandwich or breakfast burrito, they have those too. Quiche? Of course. There are not a lot of places to eat in Dallas. Upon walking in, I instantly felt like I was walking into a cafeteria setting as you have a roped off aisle that you walk down to the glass display case of already premade food options. We walked to the counter and it took a really long time to get greeted as the two employees were having a conversation more important than customers. When finally greeted, I asked if this is how we order from the glass case. She said yes, all pre-made. I was really hoping for a sandwich but did not want a pre-made one with mayo. So, I opted for the wrap. I got it heated since she asked. Well, they heat it in the colored tissue wrap and as you can see in the photo, it left die on my plate. I had high expectations of this place, something like a Great Harvest. What a let down and probably will not go back! read more

Being new to the area, I had really high hopes that this would be my go-to place here in town. I've been a handful of times in the past 2.5 years, and I really have no inclination to ever return. First, the employees are rude from start to finish. The pastries are nothing to brag about (honestly) and when I order a cappuccino, I'd like for it to be in a normal size cup (one that has to be washed) and not a giant go-cup. I've ordered the cappuccino every time I've been here and it has been WEAK every time. I asked (and paid for) a double amount of coffee in my cup at my last visit, and it made no difference, so I doubt they added more coffee. Considering I can get a good cup of cappuccino at Starbucks (yes, in a go-cup), as well as some pretty good pastries, I really have no incentive to return. This place is huge, first of all. Second, everything's new and perfect inside. I was just going to have a basic sandwich, but when I saw it was fresh-baked, I had the quiche (mushroom, bacon and spinach) and that was delicious. Lemon bar I had for dessert for excellent, too. After years of enjoying new morning, Baykery in Corvallis, I was so excited for the Dallas store to open. I go there just about every week when I drive in from the coast. For the most part, the staff are pleasant. However... When I was there yesterday, I picked up a cookie to bring home to my husband. I called this morning to let them know that the cookie was very stale. I was pleasant and spoke distinctly. The person on the phone, then asked me a question that made it obvious he hadn't been listening at all. He then claimed it was because the phones "aren't very good." so I spoke, louder, slower, and distinctly. He apologized, the cookies were only four days old, and said he didn't know what he could do about that. I told him he should "...pull the rest of the cookies. They're terrible." He had a bad attitude. I know it's hard to run a restaurant in the black, but, you should be interested in your quality in your service should certainly be there. At the very least he should've said he was going to pull the rest of the cookies and tell me that next time I was in, I could have a free cookie. On my weekly trips I will now be going back to Taters. read more

This is a great, warm and welcoming bakery right across from the Beautiful Polk County Court House. They have indoor and outdoor seating while offering a wide range of baked goods. Cinnamon Rolls, cookies, bread, quiche, pies, etc. the also offer a range of lunch goods like sandwiches and pasta salads. I highly recommend, a cool space to grab a bite, hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee. read more

If you like bland food for lunch I would try out this place. The soup tasted mostly of water and the egg salad sandwich had as little done as possible to make it taste very good, the bread in particular was really boring. You could find a similar sandwich in a vending machine at a gas station somewhere I'm sure. read more

They definitely serve up a nice plate of racism. My husband that is Native but looks Hispanic and is friend went into the bakery today. The white people were served with a smile. When it was my husbands and his friends turn they were blatantly ignored. For over 10 minutes not one employee spoke to them or looked at them. They finally left after figuring out why. Good: Decent quiche. Bad: I don't think I have ever left a negative review before but this place deserves one. First (and last) time visiting this restaurant. I really needed a good cup of coffee so I specifically asked if the self-serve coffee was hot and fresh. The person behind the counter stated "should be" with an irritated tone. Guess what, none of the coffees were hot or fresh and in fact, both dispensers ran out of coffee midway through filling my cup. My son got a pre-made sandwich that had obviously gone bad. (It even smelled bad) Out of courtesy, we went to the counter and told them that they should probably pull the rest of the same sandwiches stacked in the cooler. The employee said okay (that were were old anyway) but certainly did not offer a refund or substitution even though she could see the uneaten sandwich on our table. Plenty of staff milling about the restaurant but services was atrocious. 15 minutes waiting at the counter. What looked like a manager/owner came out from the back from time to time to count money but showed zero interest in customer service. Super bummed with our experience at a small town bakery. Maybe they can get it right with more experience. read more
