I am so happy New Morning Bakery moved into Dallas! The deli style restaurant is beautiful and in a historic building. The food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. I stop by several times a month. Please sell your delicious cheddar cheese chive bread! I would stop by several times a week for it!

There are not a lot of places to eat in Dallas. Upon walking in, I instantly felt like I was walking into a cafeteria setting as you have a roped off aisle that you walk down to the glass display case of already premade food options. We walked to the counter and it took a really long time to get greeted as the two employees were having a conversation more important than customers. When finally greeted, I asked if this is how we order from the glass case. She said yes, all pre-made. I was really hoping for a sandwich but did not want a pre-made one with mayo. So, I opted for the wrap. I got it heated since she asked. Well, they heat it in the colored tissue wrap and as you can see in the photo, it left die on my plate. I had high expectations of this place, something like a Great Harvest. What a let down and probably will not go back!

A little disappointed in the quality of food. The prices are high. though they do have a great chocolate chip cookie.

I love this place. Their baked goods are excellent, they have great iced vanilla lattes. The cinnamon rolls and danishes are -legit-.

I was just going to have a basic sandwich, but when I saw it was fresh-baked, I had the quiche (mushroom, bacon and spinach) and that was delicious.

The charming bakery is located on the main strip downtown, and is loaded with character! There was a couple playing chess on one of the bistro tables out front, and two elderly gentlemen having a lively conversation about local politics. This is just my scene! We ordered a marionberry danish and a sugar cookie, both of which were fresh, delicious and well-priced. The staff were super friendly and offered us a sample of freshly-baked dog treats for our pug Penelope, who we had in tow. Ask the bakers about their recent visit from Abraham Lincoln, it will make for a fun story and laugh. I hope you decide to visit this gem of a bakery, and tell your friends about it too!

Here's what we've had AND highly recommend: Chocolate cupcakes Lemon cupcakes ANY deli sandwich on their made-fresh-daily focaccia bread. (you're welcome) Scones (All flavors, but my favorites are the hazelnut chocolate chip & the maple & the lemon flavors) Hubby loves all the danishes (esp. the berry ones) This place is a little gem in town that shouldn't be missed. Enjoy!

It's pretty small inside and definitely has an antique shop feel. There's lots of different styles and things around. There are a few small tables scattered throughout. The lady at the front was very kind and happy to walk us through their options. They have one small case that's mostly savory and one small case that's sweets with a tiny truffle case on the counter. I think the move here is the cinnamon roll, but when we arrived they were still baking, which meant it smelled delightful, but were weren't able to try one. We ended up trying the breakfast muffin, which was really unique. It's a muffin with cheese and spinach baked in, along with an entire strip of bacon just under the surface, and an entire egg baked in the middle. It was good, but I'm not sure I would order it again. I'm not usually a scone fan, I prefer a muffin, but their scones looked good. We tried the blueberry lemon and the cranberry orange. They were both really flavorful with a good texture, not super dry. The blueberry edged out the cranberry for me because the blueberries were fresh, whereas the cranberry were dried. This is a cute small shop, clearly making everything from scratch with passion. I'd stop back in for a cinnamon roll for sure!

We were heading to visit family in the area for dinner and were asked to bring dessert. While…read moredriving through Stayton, my wife remembered The Lovin Oven from years ago. We also recalled that there was some connection to Gerry Frank's Konditorei in Salem, which immediately caught our interest. After doing a little research, we discovered there's a deep and fascinating history linking the two businesses. The Lovin Oven began in 1983, when founder Doreen Helmemn operated the bakery out of her home. In 1993, the business expanded into a small storefront in downtown Stayton after being purchased by Mike and Valerie Schultz. Mike, who was formerly a logger, was personally taught cake decorating by the original founder, an origin story that adds to the bakery's charm and authenticity. One of the most interesting details we learned is that The Lovin Oven is the primary baker for Gerry Frank's Konditorei in Salem, a partnership that dates back to the 1980s. That relationship grew even stronger in 2017, when the Schultzes became co-owners of the Konditorei. Many people enjoying desserts at high-end restaurants throughout the region may not realize that their cakes were baked in Stayton. The Lovin Oven is especially well known for its Champagne Raspberry cake, Marionberry cheesecake, and an impressive variety of gourmet bars and cookies. Their menu also includes cakes, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cupcakes, and more, something for just about every dessert preference. The bakery itself is housed in an industrial-style building that includes the production bakery, a storefront, and a small seating area where you can enjoy your treats on site. The outside is a unique with a black painted brick exterior. The customer facing area of the inside is industrial. We picked up a selection of cupcakes to take to dinner and were quickly back on the road. The cupcakes were a hit, everyone loved them, and they disappeared fast. It felt great to share something local with such a rich backstory. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we're glad we stopped. If you find yourself passing through Stayton or looking for high-quality desserts in the Willamette Valley, The Lovin Oven is absolutely worth checking out.
