Service was also a bit rude and rushed and we were the only ones ordering. 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches were $27.50 I likely won't recommend or go out of my way to go back. New Orleans has some high coffee competition in my opinion and this place just didn't do it for me.

This is what I would call a Orleans Parish fancy coffee shop setting with home made meals and coffee in Jefferson. You feel like you are in New Orleans as it is a raised house, with high ceilings, wooden creeky floors, door locks that barely work for the bathroom, and even live music. I have been coming here monthly since the summer and it is a small business owned by a woman who makes her own pickles and cookies with sea salt and coffees. Since it is small, they sometimes run out of items so if your heart is set on something call ahead. She has the most incredible pulled pork cheesy biscuit. Again, sometimes the cheesy biscuit is out, but the regular biscuit is just fine. The home made pickles are truly incredible. My hubby does not like pickles and he craves these. There is a sweetness to them, it isn't all vinegary. And the owner is considering selling them on the side soon. The cookie is a chocolate chip cookie that she adds seastalt to that enhances the flavor. The salad I had, she was out of the particular greens, but the salad was amazing too! The coffee I had was a caramel or something style, it was so good, I got it in cold and hot latte style! I love the teal truck outside that matches the door. The place is clean inside. There are steps to get into the place, there are about 5 or 6 small tables inside, there is a porch with a couple of small tables as well. Prices are on par with any other Orleans parish coffee shop, and parking is off street parking and is across the street which is basically Causeway.

I got a cheese bread for about $3 and a tuna sandwich for $5! You can order your drinks at the kiosk or at the counter. And you can bring your items to the counter for them to ring up. The process was pretty easy. It's a nice open space for grabbing a drink and yummy treat. There is no wifi however so it's not the best place to work for the day. Service: Self serve and then pay at the counter Drinks: Lots of different options here Wifi: Unfortunately they don't have this. Parking: There's a small lot in front and signs for parking in the back. Outdoor Seating: None

Location is right on Veterans, but you have to watch for it in the small strip mall. Plenty of parking in the back and there are entrances on both sides. Clean, well lit, and smells heavenly! I had the worst time deciding because they have everything from tuna salad sandwiches and puddings to the yummy cheese dog danish I devoured. Garlic cheese bread was good and the spinach kale danish was packed with flavor. The almond bun was subtle and not overly sweet. There were several items I had no idea what they would taste like, so I put them on the list for next time. :) Pricing is VERY reasonable. Garlic cheese bread: $2.25, Cheese Dog: $2.30, Spinach Kale Danish: $2.60 and the recycle bag was $1.85. I do plan on returning. I think it's a perfect place for that person who likes to experiment with their taste buds.

I thought this coffee shop was quaint and in the heart of Jefferson. It was pretty packed for 10am…read more The place is decently sized, quite few tables inside and about 3 or 4 outside to dine at. There is a jug of water in the back next to the very clean bathrooms. The menus are on the wall and they have a good number of options for food, including bagels and lox, which I will get next time. Not many places offer that in Metry. I ended up ordering the special latte which was a chocolate and vanilla blend. It was tasty, rich, I like when placed offer chocolate and not mocha. There is a different between those flavors and chocolate always wins, yet not many places offer so again, glad they have this too. I also ordered the scrambled egg croissant with cheddar and ham. I did enjoy the croissant, it was flaky and butter, delicious. I also enjoyed the ham, had a sweetness to it. I did not love the cheddar or lack there was. It was very little cheese and honestly, with that delicate ham, it needed a better cheese like brie maybe or gruyere? Something to match that perfect buttery croissant. I did notice the menu online is not exactly the same as the one on the wall. I was interested in an Italian Bagel, but maybe that is offered other times of the year or maybe it was just not popular, but it sounded interesting. I should have asked if they had the ingredients to make it and probably will next time if I don't get my lox bagel. The lady that took my order was professional and personable with the regulars. I did like that the worker space is open to the dinners and you can see everything coming in and going out - it was a well designed space. The decor was quaint. Only thing I didn't like was there was not as much cleaning of the tables as I would like in between customers. Overall, very good experience and very tasy coffee.

I said I paid in cash and didn't even touch the register. This was immediately after I had told her to put the change in the tip jar. Can't believe her memory was that bad- or if she was that frazzled by the line that has accumulated from her struggling with said register. Whichever the case, it left a bad taste in my mouth. There was no apology or even acknowledgement of her error besides an "Oh yeah!" Coffee was fresh but not strong. Was surprised by the lack of milk and sugar options available for patrons available on the counter. Totally expected some syrups and various types of milk available. Sandwich, as you can see in the picture, was barely filled. 1 layer of the toppings and I had multiple bites of just bread. Nothing about the sandwich was special nor unique. Bacon tasted like regular bacon and the bread was store-bought, not fresh bakery variety as others have mentioned in their reviews. Will not be back despite wanting to check out this place for years due to its high reviews and central location. Huge fail Yelp

District meets the suburbs…read more I've been to the locations on Magazine and Harrison several times but 1st time I have been to this one. This one feels like a chain restaurant (which it now is) and has no real personality being pinned in between a bike shop and a Jersey Mike's inside of strip mall. The kolaches at District are really good. They have a variety of flavors, I usually get a smoked sausage, cheese and jalapeno which is tasty but this time I got a brisket boudin and cream cheese kolache in a collaboration with Gonzo's. This was phenomenal. I also got a regular glazed donut. This was not that good. It's too dense and too thick. I like my glazed donuts to be light and airy; I want it to almost melt in my mouth. All of District's donuts are thick. Most of them are good especially the banana pudding donut. The issue is these aren't really donuts more like cakes or just a dessert. If you are coming to get your order to go this place is fine but if you want to hang out, I prefer the other locations.

The dough is soft, buttery, and rich without being heavy, and the cinnamon-sugar filling is perfectly balanced (sweet but not cloying). You can tell it's made with the same care as their donuts. The icing is generous without drowning the cake, and the traditional Mardi Gras sprinkles add that classic festive touch. It's indulgent, flavorful, and dangerously easy to keep slicing "just one more piece." Also worth noting: it stays moist for days, which is rare for king cake. If you're torn between traditional and over-the-top versions, this is a great middle ground--classic flavor, elevated execution. Easily one of the better king cakes in the city, and definitely worth picking up during the season. Would 100% buy again.
