Excellent service and delicious frozen beverages aka La Freezes. Ever since discovering French Press in Chalmette, it's been my mission to visit a store near me and treat myself and. I have! Customer service is always amazing, never had a complaint and as a club member, I get a lot of discounts via email. They also have quite a few sugar free flavors like the wedding cake but you'd have to ask for them as I never see those flavors on the menu. I've only frequented the Airline location near Sam's the most but the inside is huge with lots of seating, WiFi and an adult gaming room oh and it's super clean. Price wise, it's like $7 for a 24oz La freeze but it lasts a while I've recently been to the location on Severn and again, superb service. I plan to check out the location on David drive since it's the only one I haven't been to yet. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend. read more

The food isn't bad but the service is subpar and inconsistent. I've previously had good interactions with the staff here and there but this morning was probably the most underwhelming. With the exception of one table in the restaurant, they were completely empty. One young lady was working the drive thru which wasn't busy and no one was at the register. I waited a bit then decided to use the restroom. When I returned, still no one at the register. I asked a worker who came out on the floor if anyone was working the register and she said the drive thru worker would be with me. After a few more minutes, she (receipt says Briana M) came and took my order. No greeting or anything. I took my scone and left. Again, to be clear nothing completely out of bounds or horrible happened; they just often have subpar customer service. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming the best, maybe they don't understand what service is or haven't been trained on how to be courteous. Been here several times, but this time was pretty disappointing. I ordered a turkey avocado press. The mashed avocado was black. I asked the person at the counter to just give me another piece of toast so I can just eat the sandwich and not wasting the sandwich. I just don't want the blackened avocado on one side of the toast. The person at the counter proceeded to educate me about how avocado oxides when exposed to air. I assumed this was made to order so I don't think my mashed avocado should be served dark. I met a friend for coffee here one afternoon and upon entering, no one acknowledged me or welcomed me to the store. There was a guy making a drink but didn't bother to say someone would assist me shortly, I waited for a bit before someone came from the back and walked to the register. He still didn't acknowledge me or say anything. I proceeded to place my order (a medium hazelnut iced coffee. It tasted pretty decent but I would have preferred a tad bit more flavoring. My coworkers were raving on how amazing this coffee house was! Every Friday they come into the office with coffee and breakfast. Each week I would make an effort to stop but didn't. However, today I did! This place is worth all of the hype! The fact that the coffee is brewed fresh at 6am each morning and pastries are made in house. I ordered the sausage crosswind sandwich and it was the best breakfast sandwich I've had from a coffee house. It was huge and you can tell it was made in house. The staff was pleasant, welcoming and very polite. The building was clean with a beautiful setup to enjoy and relax. Lastly, it's New Orleans owned! They've gained a new customer. Going here was an after thought but I am glad I went. I planned to go the Dots further down airline but they were closed for electrical issues. The staff are not the most engaging but they did do their job. I ordered the soup of the day which was a corn and crab bisque and the siracha ham sandwich. Both were very good. It was unexpected. It was a little late in the day to order coffee but I wish I had now that I liked the food so much. This French Press looks a lot better than the one on Williams...much more spacious and clean. Very peaceful atmosphere. We initially planned to only stay an hour, but we got so comfortable that it turned into almost 2 hours. There are better pastries and more variety at this location also. The 3 of us combined ordered a medium mint green tea, strawberry kiwi tea, two bowls of crawfish etouffee, a blueberry muffin, cookies and cream cupcake, and a cookie dough cupcake. The etouffee surprisingly had wonderful flavor even though the crawfish was a little scarce. However, the rice was hard and super cold...almost frozen. We took most of the rice out. Otherwise, it's better than a lot of etouffees I have had. My mint green tea was piping, scorching hot and very minty...just the way I like it! The cupcakes pleasantly surprised me. I expected something dry and flavorless but they were pretty moist and tasted like they were supposed to...although the cookies and cream could have used more oreos. Cookie dough was awesome and was baked right in the middle! However, it was so sweet unlike the oreo that I had to knock most of the frosting off. Cupcakes are on the dense side, but I didn't mind. The frosting is nothing special & tasted like the grocery store kind. I just wish there was more cake...they bake them rather short & small. Overall a pleasant experience and the staff were pretty friendly and kept up with cleaning the tables off. We'll continue to go to this French Press for now on. read more

This morning was my first time going to French Press Coffee House. My daughter, who's been there several times, told me about the delicious breakfast. We each had the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant. The eggs were so fluffy, the croissant very fresh, and the cheese was grated cheddar. And it was huge! I also got an apple scone to go. YUM! It was a little bit more expensive and further away than McD's, but sooooo much better! I wish I could comment on the coffee, all I can say is, those frozen concoctions with the whipped cream on top, looked absolutely delicious. Definitely next time! The staff was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and had inside and outside dining. I really enjoyed eating eating here and will definitely be back! read more

This place has been great in the past but recently has gone downhill. I got an almond la freeze and my drink was still full of chunks of ice. It wasn't blended fully making it impossible to drink without chunks of ice being stuck in the straw. read more

About 4 months ago I texted my boyfriend to remind me to never ever ever go to French press again. Especially if, I don't know, you want good coffee, nice service and a quick drive thru. Today I made the mistake of trying one more time. To my surprise, the line moved quickly and the young lady speaking to me in the drive through sounded competent and polite. I thought it was odd that she asked me if I wanted my sausage egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. That's how they have always come I thought. I responded yes and didn't think anything of it. I was even shocked when they handed me the food containers in a bag rather than just handing me the containers separately. Then I got home..... Slowest drive through coffee chain I've ever been to. Consistently slow. Whether I'm the only car in the entire line or they have a couple ahead. I'm not sure where the inefficiency lies. I get ICE Coffee. When I go inside and order, I pay - get my coffee. The process takes less than a minute. When I'm in a hurry and go to the drive through, this process takes 5 minutes. The only reason I complain is because every other coffee chain (PJs, Starbucks, even Pacino's) has this process down. It's a drive-through, it's supposed to be efficient and fast. Please work on this, it's almost worth my time to drive past your location and go to a different coffee place that's out of my way. read more

Came here to get some work done on Monday June 12th around 5:10pm. My expectations were somewhat high, but not too high. I heard good things about the place so I thought why not. I walked up to the counter to place an order for coffee right after setting up my work station. The girl taking my order was very unprofessional and rude. She was taking my order at the same time as she was taking a drive-thru order. She was so confused and overwhelmed herself and she even became frustrated and loudly exclaimed "I CAN'T HEAR YOU". First of all, if she wasn't trying to take 2 orders at the same time, we both wouldn't be in this unfortunate situation. Anyway, I brushed the incident off, as she stumbled to keep two conversations happening, one right in front of her self, and another through her earpiece. After my order, I walked over to my desk to wait for my coffee. I made sure to maintain eye contact as to let them know I am still waiting for my coffee. About 17-20 minutes later I realized that there is no way their coffee would take that long, I don't care how good the coffee is. So I walked over to the counter to be greeted like a customer that just walked in. I told the other guy working with the girl that I have been waiting for my order for about 17-20 mins. He fumbled over to look at the printer and mentioned something along the lines of the printer is broken or jammed or something. Almost no apology, he said he would go ahead and make the coffee. I looked at him somewhat in disbelief that a little courtesy to apologize for the incident would be that tough for him to do on behalf of the company. Anyway, I just had to brush it off, wait another 3 mins and get my coffee. I am disappointed in the customer service at this place. Not sure if it's the company to blame, the immaturity of the baristas or whatever you call them, or just a random event that should be forgotten. But I hope that this review can be a reason to assess your customer service strategy and improve for the sake of humanity and the sake of your company. read more

This location is a little out of the way since you have to get onto Airline Hwy, across from Sam's Club. There is a drive thru and plenty of parking unlike the other more convenient locations. (YES I'm pointing at you--French Press by Lakeside!) :P The inside decor is beautifully renovated and inviting. Plenty of tables inside and outside. The outlets are limited, but this is a place of business, not a 10 hour internet cafe. It is a nice quiet place to get some work done. My favorite is the Varamel Latte, Iced, hot, frozen--Ill take it any way you give it to me! :) I really dislike drinks that are too sweet so I asked the nice barista to make it half sweet. My Varamel latte was really good--not too sweet and not too milky with a perfect balance of espresso flavor. Yums. Don't be basic and stop at Starbucks, support your local coffee shops! read more

First and last time to ever buy anything to eat from French press coffee house. I was embarrassed today when I suggested an out of top town just stop by there for a quick bite. They ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a chicken salad salad. The chicken salad was hardly recognizable as chicken, the dressing and oil and vinegar with poppyseeds and hardly a sneer of mayo. Should've known that I was going to come to a page full of poor reviews. I actually think the coffee is decent, but if I could, I would give no stars. I went in today and from the moment I got there to the moment I left I was appalled by the employee's behavior. The girl behind the counter looked at me like I was an utter moron for not knowing where she placed my coffee. Whatever, I shrugged it off. It was a pretty quiet day there. After I sat down, I listened as the two girls working mock every. single. customer. that ordered in the drive-thru with a bit of a confused request, instead of educating them about how the menu works. Not only that, but they were bad mouthing other staff that weren't on duty and just talking about all the "joys" of working there. I don't come often, but I still do from time to time for a coffee and a croissant sandwich. Expect waits. Every location of French Press is slow. I've collected plenty enough evidence at this point to state that as a fact. This one had a marginally better staff who was attentive, but they were suffering with a computer system that was going in and out. Other locations I've experienced staffing who clearly just don't want to work there...multiple times. Management needs to be a little more involved in their interviews, I think. This brand has a lot of potential. The storefronts are so pretty, and many of the creations are tasty. If the operation was honed in, it could easily be 4 stars and up. read more

Me, my best friend, and my oldest son all had brunch from French Press Coffee House - Airline Hwy. Saturday afternoon before my wedding. We all had nausea. My son threw up quickly, and was okayish, but remained queasy the rest of the day, and all day Sunday. My best friend (who was also my MoH) got viciously sick, stayed sick throughout the entire ceremony, and had to leave before the reception started. She was STILL not feeling 100% today. As for me, I was super nauseated, which I initially attributed to nerves, but I've been sick ALL night last night, and ALL day today, which makes sense for food poisoning since I absorb food much more slowly than others, due to gastric resectioning I had 4 years ago. So basically, French Press ruined parts of our wedding and honeymoon that we'll never get back. Nevermind that the food cost nearly $50 for coffees and the sandwiches. I'm rather pissed off at the memories we didn't get thanks to this food making us ill. I have visited this location and others plenty of times and the evening/night shift at this location are completely inept. They apparently don't know what a frozen chai tea is because on more than one occasion at this location the gave my child a frozen coffee. Chai tea doesn't have any espresso in it. She does not like espresso. The morning/day shift gets it right and also the other locations know how to make them correctly. They also made another drink completely wrong. A La Freeze is supposed to be frozen and all 4 of our La Freeze's were watery. We went in at 9pm and they don't close for another hour. They had horrible attitudes and had most of the store closed down. If you don't feel like working there and doing your job find another one. I will not be visiting this location anytime soon.
