I have dined with my wife at Newell a number of times. It is absolutely our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in New Hampshire. I think the PHO broth is the best in New England. I usually give it a 5+ hoping it would have a scale of even 10 but today I can't. We went on Thursday around 3 o'clock ordered our normal full with tender steak and faux with brisket. My brisket was very tough and needed salt desperately. I have to say this is the first time I've ever complained about the food. The broth has always was out of this world. We've been lucky that we've always been waited on by the owner. She's absolutely a delight, always smiling and just a positive individual. We had a new waitress Thursday. There is only one size but the portion is a little small otherwise, could use more noodles, but the broth is incredible. Some of the best pho broth I've found in New England so I keep coming back. Service is so kind, someone before me had left melted ice cream under our table and I stepped on it, and I don't blame the restaurant honestly because cleaning under the table after every customer is not typical if you don't see anything, but they were offering to move us to another table and helped put down napkins over the spill when I said it was okay and we didn't have to. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls is always delicious. Ambiance is not the cleanest and quite simple but very cozy and homie. I also appreciate that this is family-owned and run. The menu is massive in scope, and features Korean food. My fiancé and I stopped here on a chilly Monday night to finally check this place out after passing by it numerous times. We shared an order of Ga Dac Biet (popcorn chicken), Tai Gau (a beef noodle soup) and Mi Kathung (wide noodles sautéed with chicken and veggies). Everything was delicious but I particularly enjoyed the noodle dish and my fiancé liked the popcorn chicken because of how crunchy the coating was while the chicken stayed juicy. The waitress was extremely polite and made it a point to welcome us when she found out it was our first visit there. We look forward to going back and trying some of there Korean dishes next time. This pho place is amazing! My friend and I were on the way home from the White Mountains and decided we wanted to stop for some pho and came upon this restaurant. I got the veggie pho and my friend got the one with steak. My veggie pho had SOOOO many veggies in it. I absolutely was in heaven. Bill is the owner of the restaurant and is the sweetest human ever. He is so kind and cares so much about your experience. The place was super clean as well which is a huge plus in my book. I stopped by New Pho, which just opened recently under new management. They serve up Vietnamese and Korean cuisines, similar to the predecessor restaurants Shira Kiku and Goong Choun. I haven't eaten Korean food in a while and this place definitely is the place for it. They offer a good variety of pho and ramen soups here and I definitely enjoy hot bowls of soup on cold windy days. However, I enjoy Bulgogi and Bibimbap too and not as many places offer it in the area. I started out with Egg Rolls ($5.95 plus tax), which were two rolls filled with ground pork & shredded vegetables in a crispy fried wrap (like spring rolls) with a peanut sauce for dipping. For dinner, I went with the Stonepot Beef Bibimbap ($20.95 plus tax) which was served very hot and sizzling in a stonepot, so use caution. The bibimbap had a mix of vegetables, sprouts, egg runny, and tender beef over white rice on the bottom, which is supposed to cook until brown crispy and I mixed the runny egg to cook it nicely the rest of the way. I was also given kimchi and fermented zucchini and bibimbap sauce, but I didn't see any miso soup (broth) to go with it as stated on the menu. Anyways, the beef bibimbap was absolutely very good and tasty. The waiter brought out my check quickly after I finished my food. The check for one was $29.19 with tax and before tip. Overall it was a good dinner and the service was prompt on this visit since the place was not too busy on a late Friday evening. They also offer takeout and DoorDash delivery. read more

The soup was so fragrant, and served with the freshest bean sprouts and mint. Ended with green tea ice cream and fried banana, both presented beautifully. Stopped here for dinner, this is the former location of Shira Kiku. It hasn't changed much (at all?) since they re-opened but it was clean and a simple decor. Food was good - we had crab rangoons, spicy edamame, beef pho, and pad thai. Everything was fresh. The crab rangoon were similar to other restaurants but bigger (same type of filling). The edamame were quite good, and spicy with a nice topping. Pho was fresh and the thai was also flavorful despite not being a Thai restaurant. Scorpion bowl for two was good but on the weak side for $20. Overall, a good experience and we will return. read more

We ventured to New Pho on a Friday evening for our weekly 'date night'. The former restaurant at this location in Nashua (Shira Kiku) was one of our favorites for Korean dishes. New Pho serves Vietnamese and Korean menu items. We decided to try several ... and asked the server for recommendations on their best dishes. What really struck us was the freshness of the abundant vegetables in each dish. It's clear that the chef is attentive to using the best ingredients. The fried rice was reminiscent of our trips to Asia ... definitely not the usual salty Americanized rendition. The Vietnamese spring rolls were magnificent as starters. The restaurant has had a few upgrades to its decor, but that's not the reason to venture to New Pho. The tables and chairs are cramped, but that's ok. We were also impressed by the number of patrons. Stopped here on the way home from VT for lunch and on a rainy day, pho was on my mind. The pho broth here was absolutely perfect. It had the perfect balance of all those lovely pho flavors- salty, savory, nourshing, and just the right sweetness to balance it all out.
