The servers (and chef!) here go above and beyond, and the food here is delicious and plentiful; the "free sample" of kimchi my dad somehow ended up with after talking to the chef about vegan food or something was not only the only kimchi that my had ever liked, it was also vegan, due to the lack of anchovies. It was also, apparently, less salty, presumably for the same reason. The amount of kimchi in the "sample" was so plentiful as to almost fill up the mini cup we used for takeout. They have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan food, as well as some gluten free items, though they lack the staff and kitchen size to accommodate celiacs, so it's really more of use for people on elimination diets or with poor digestive capabilities. The owner had prior training in Italian cuisine, which is the reason such food is on the menu, and while neither my father nor I had occasion to try it, it is apparently a passion of the chef's, and the shared discussion of their mutual interest in Italian cooking may be the reason my father was given a free "sample" of kimchi, which was larger than the paid order of kimchi at most other restaurants. The food portions, in general, are massive, with the leftovers of an order of wonton soup not fitting in a to-go canister, with other orders being similarly large. Their jasmine tea is unusual for its slight fruity flavor, and ability to "overbrew" without becoming bitter, instead maintaining its delicate flavor. Each table has condiments, which in addition to including the "normal" chili crisp, and fish sauce often found at Asian restaurants that provide table condiments, have the more western pepper grinder, as well as garlic salt. Curiously, there is no "normal" salt as often found at western restaurants, though bottles of sriracha are found at every table. Still in my rotation, and I still mostly stick with the sizzling hot items, alternating among chicken, shrimp, and fish. Still excellent, still sweet (though now more noticeably spicy too), and still important to remind that the dishes here are not necessarily attempting authentic cuisine of specific regions (even though specific dishes are named), but more of a freestyle approach. The wings have improved in recent visits. More plump, more crisp, more juice, more flavor. Still good value. Still a little weak on the service (more about being young, unfocused and lacking initiative than anything approaching rudeness). Still highly recommended. read more

Dropped in here for some pho and was not disappointed. They had a nice selection of soup and other Thai cuisine and looking around at the tables next to me, it all looked good! I ordered the medium beef pho and the portion was huge, I was very hungry going into it and could barely finish it. The broth was very savory and was light and savory without being sweet or salty. It had a generous portion of meat in it as well as plenty of noodles. The waiter was so sweet and answered our many questions and made recommendations for us, great customer service. We also ordered some fries as a side that were good they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I was in the city of Lowell and my friend recommended this spot. AMBIANCE: Parking: A small plaza parking but there's also street parking too Seating: Inside seating, good for groups. There's about room for 50 people. Feels: Lot of history in this history. The "first" industrial city of US. Good place for groups or a casual food adventure. FOOD: Sizzling Spicy Dry (Recommend) I chose fried fish as my protein, and it was well-cooked and battered, providing a good crunch. The ingredients of garlic, jalapenos, peppers, onions, scallions, cilantro and their homemade chili sauce gave it a good kick. Coconut Spring Rolls (Recommend) I picked the choice of shrimp as my protein and I'm glad about this choice. The shrimp was well cooked, good crunch, and a pleasant taste of coconut, add your usual spring rolls elements from fulfilling vermicelli, refreshing basil, and a nice slice of creamy avocado, you're in for a treat. parking lot is very small. there's plenty of street parking. it's a really bad area, lock you car door, don't leave valuables visibly out. there's a sign on the restaurant door stating lock your car. we watched a fist fight take place across the street. stopped in for dinner on friday. we ordered the chicken spring roll. the roll was hot from the fried chicken and the rest is cold. i like the temp difference. the sauce it came with was on the sweet side. we also ordered the vietnamese sausage rice plate. the sausage was nice. the other entree was the sizzling spicy dry squid. the squid was very nice and crispy. the sauce that coated was way too sweet. i literally got a sugar rush. there's more sugar in that dish than two scoops of ice cream. overall it was good. read more

They have a good selection of dishes ranging for Chinese, Thai, Khmer, and even Italian pasta dishes! It wasn't a particularly busy night so the service was good and it was nice and quiet. We ordered the teriyaki beef fresh rolll (chili dipping sauce) and the pork fresh roll (classic peanut sauce). Both were stuffed full and made well. Fresh and tasty. The dipping sauces were also good. For our main course I had the Phò with rare beef and tripe and it was delicious. A great broth that was savory but light and not sweet. Well balanced! My husband had the pork wonton noodle soup. Plenty of wontons (simple pork) and pork slices. Broth was sweeter than we would have preferred. But overall the food was fresh and great tasting and portions for the soup were generous. $58 for 2 appetizers, 2 soups, and 2 beers. Excellent food and pleasant, attentive service. The crispy veggie "chicken" tenders were easily enough for two, were crispy as promised and flavorful. The wonton noodle soup was very good and enormous, with great pork and shrimp wontons, noodles, strips of pork and fried shallots, perfectly complimented with a touch of house made chili oil. Finally, both the dry fried chicken and dry fried tempeh were great, with the chicken being my favorite of the two. Delicious and reasonably priced meal. The chef kindly provided us with a sample of his house made vegan kimchi, which, while I am admittedly not usually a fan, was the best I had ever had, fresh and complex, but not overpowering. Sizzling Kitchen is a gem of a place for Korean dishes. The ambiance is low-key but it's clean and the food is superb. I discovered the place years ago from coworkers who had been. They talked me into getting Bibimbap and I haven't found anything else like it anywhere. It comes with your choice of protein, rice and a multitude of veggies, plus a raw egg on top. By the time the very hot bowl comes out to your table with the smells and sizzling rice and everything else, you are very hungry. Stir it up and mix the raw egg into the hot mix, you won't regret it. I have been back numerous times, always eager to see if things had changed. Nope, still consistently good. It also comes with a spicy sauce on the side, reminding me of bbq but more flavorful. We were invited there for a graduation party. Our group arrived uncomfortably close to their closing time. And it showed. Employees were eager to get outta there. Service was below average. Some of the food was ok, but my Mee Ka-Tang was the worst Mee Ka-Tang I ever had: noodles a clumped up, not separated, some burnt, some dried, and the taste itself was weird. Very dough-y. I wouldn't be surprised if the chef added some secret snot sauce in all our dishes for being so late. Anyway, plenty of better friendlier food options around town. Stopped in for a Valentine's Day dinner. Started with the Sweet Cilantro wings and the Sizzling Kitchen fresh rolls. Both were excellent! The wings were crispy and hot with a slightly sweet and tangy sauce. The fresh rolls did not disappoint. Filled to the max with kimchi, veggies and more. The owner is friendly and very considerate towards dietary restrictions(gluten-free, vegan, etc). I'm a spice nut and I deeply enjoyed the pho with added chili oil. Since Sizzling Kitchen has moved down the street, they feel more like a restaurant with a bigger dining room space. We can meet up with more friends here. They have a little private lot on the side of the building. Street parking is still a bit of a situation but not impossible if the parking lot is full. And the fusion menu features items from Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, and Italy. However, they did lose a little bit of their flare recently. Spring Rolls Combination- Pork, shrimp, lettuce, pickled relish, mint, and vermicelli, wrapped in rice paper. They were big rolls but they were not fresh at all. And the sauce does not compliment the rolls well. Chicken Parmesan Dinner Pasta- Pasta with marinara sauce, chicken parmesan with cheese. Served with a side of buttered toast. This had barely any flavor. The chicken was completely dry. Stick with the Sizzling Platter dishes. They never disappoint! Overall Service: They have Ubereats but I recommend dining here. This place used to be a great place to come eat but unfortunately I don't think it's worth but if you want the sizzling plate definitely still get that. The chicken wings were also delicious you can never go wrong with chicken wings they were nicely sauced. The pho was more on the plain side and as a Vietnamese I wouldn't recommend and the kimchi jjigae was very sweet, it had like green cabbage instead of the standard napa and the rice was pretty dry to eat it with. All the food I've tried so far has been great. I feel like all their sizzling plate is a great choice. The pork mee ka-tang is good. Their kimchi jigae doesn't taste the same as how Korean does it. But it not bad. My only complaint would be their rice. I've been here at least 3x and the rice is always dry. Either they don't add enough water to the rice or the brand of rice they use is not good. Highly recommend changing it. Even Costco rice taste better than this. Service is good. read more

We ordered two meekatang and just from the first glance, we could tell it was a mistake ordering from this place. The meekatang was drowning in some sort of liquid, I thought they forgot noodles because I couldn't find any at first, but then noticed a congealed block of soggy noodles in the corner. The beef tasted like it had been frozen and thawed and frozen like twenty times. The chicken looked and tasted like it was meant for a chicken nugget and had a really weird spongy texture to it. The veggies tasted like they had been sitting in Tom Yum soup or something. This meal was an absolute awful tasting mess. It was like they took leftovers from a bunch of different meals and tossed it together. I cannot believe that this restaurant has been around for this long serving food like this. And I always look forward to limeade to wash down my food, but even that was not up to par. Watered down and tasted more like lime water than limeade. Pina colada was nice at least.
