Just got my haircut by Tracy today. She did a great job and did exactly what I wanted. She was careful not to cut too much and was great about asking me questions before she made a move on my hair. I made the appointment earlier this week so it was nice to get an appointment right away. (Purchased through Groupon) I get that it might be a little difficult to schedule but try to be understanding that Tracy is her own scheduler and most likely with a client. I have been going to Mary Vargas for about 30 years, so long I can't remember not seeing her. She is very welcoming even through Covid 19 precautions. She is so skilled and accurate I am usually out of there early. I have only gotten my hair colored once and that was for my daughters wedding. She did a spectacular job. I have seen other patrons' hair styles and colors and everyone looks great. She is good with all kinds of hair. Mine is gray , curly and fine. I dropped by and asked Tracy about doing highlights on my hair. I told her that i intended to get the groupon and then set up an appointment. However Tracy told me that the info was wrong on groupon and asked me to pay a different value directly to her. The deal on groupon: $66 for haircut and partial highlights (valued $130). Tracy wanted me to pay $101. I agreed and set up an appointment. When i went to my appointment, i had to wait for over 20 minutes. In the middle of doing my hair, Tracy told me she calculated my bill wrong and said that $111 was her intended price for my haircut and partial highlights, but she would take the $101 as agreed. Immediately after saying that, Tracy asked me for some cash right away so that she could go to the Post Office right in the middle of my appointment. She basically wanted me to pay early. Not questioning her, i paid her $101 right then in cash. Tracy took my money but did not leave for the post office yet. Instead she showed me some color options, but she told me she just ran out of the color i wanted. I specifically told her i did not want silver gray because it makes me look older and that i wanted ash brown. Tracy said she would mix some colors to make a color that matched ash brown for me. By the time she was done highlighting my hair Tracy said she couldn't leave for the post office until she was done with my hair. Apparently the my hair color was changing faster than expected so Tracy had to stay and wash my hair. During the hair wash, another later lady came in. Tracy finished washing my hair and wrapped up my hair and told me to wait. I ended waiting 30 minutes as Tracy was working on the other lady. Tracy then came back to blow dry my hair. I saw the result and it was not the color i wanted (it was more akin to silver gray!). Tracy told me that after i go home and wash my hair a few times, the color will not be that gray. I really disliked the front so i asked Tracy to redo my front a little bit for now. Tracy did the front and told me again that after a few washes it should look fine. She told me i could call next week if i still didn't like the hair and that she would fix it. At the end i agreed and she asked how much tip i would give (blunt and unprofessional). So i told her $20 and gave her $100 in cash expecting change. Tracy said she only had only $70 and that i could take or leave it. She reasoned that she already gave me a discount from $111 to $101. So i took the $70 and left since i felt i had no choice. After a week i walked in to the salon again and told her i wanted my hair fixed because it was still silver gray. Tracy was busy so she said she would text me with a new appointment. Later that day she texted me but she wanted $65 to fix my hair. Outrageous considering how she messed up my hair, kept raising the price on me, and refused to give me my proper change by holding my money hostage. Tldr: I got ripped off, had to wait for my appointment and during my appointment, was basically stolen from, and my hair is still messed up. Don't come here...groupon or otherwise. read more

Mary did an excellent job on my hair! She went above and beyond by making sure she bought hair dye for me that was certified vegan. I've never had a stylist go out of their way for me in this way. She also had great advice on taking care of my hair because it has been damaged from bleach and did an extraordinary job with the color balayage, cut and style. I had found New Reflections through Groupon called 'Tracy at New Reflections Hair Design'.'I was definitely weary of the place due to the previous review by Meuy stating that she only text her and never got back to her, but I wanted to give it a chance because it is a great price for a haircut style and color. I called Tracy early yesterday, and she didn't answer. I was thinking oh no, this isn't a good sign. But of course, she is probably with a client, so she will call me back by end of day. NOPE. It is mid afternoon today and I have not received a callback. Since today is the last day to cancel to get a refund, I didn't wait and just thought my odds are better finding another place. Luckily, I was able to request a refund and get my money back. I got a Groupon for Tracy. I should of read the reviews. Once I got ahold of her we booked my apt for the following friday. I showed up 10 min before my 11am apt. She did not write down my apt so she couldn't start on me until an HOUR later. I was doing the partial highlights from the groupon. No where on the groupon or website does it say that you have to pay an ADDITIONAL $45 for the toner. So that was a huge surprise. When I asked her if the toner is usually part of the highlights (it is everywhere else) she said ya when you pay the full price. Well this would of been nice to know. The only reason I give her any stars is because I do like the color but if I were going to pay that much I would of went somewhere else. Hope this helps someone else. read more

I've been a loyal client of Tracy's for almost 3 years. I made an appointment with her almost every month. I tend to brush off her running late, multi-tasking with 2 customers at the same time, the hair color stains on my ears and the top of my forehead. But she always gave me a fair price and she deep conditions my hair and gives me a nice scalp massage while my hair is being conditioned. But this last time was the last straw. She took a walk-in (a new client) on Valentine's Day, which I believe is the last 1 star review on yelp because Tracy kept complaining about her. This client took up almost 3 hours of her time and because of that, she didn't get to me till almost 2 hours after my appointment time. It's a good thing I didn't have plans, but what if I did?? My day can't revolve around Tracy's mismanagement of her schedule. If Tracy is going to run her own business, she needs to really work on time management. Almost every time I see her, she's always running late. And she needs to allow enough time if she's going to work on 2 clients at the same time. Honestly, she's a bit unprofessional because of the above reasons. And she can't be sloppy. Every time I get home, I have to really scrub the color off the top of my forehead where my roots meet the forehead. She tries to do it before I leave, but she doesn't do a good job. I'm sorry, Tracy, to leave a bad review, but you just lost a good client who's been with you almost 3 years. One word of advice--when that walk-in came in, you should have turned her away so your loyal clients wouldn't be 2 hours behind. Did you think you would only spend 1 hour with her? I think money is what motivated you to take her. That was unethical for you to charge that woman full price when obviously she wasn't happy with the result. As other people have said, in order to keep your clients, you do whatever it takes to keep them happy and as a future client, even if it means losing some money or charging less for your services. Money shouldn't always be a motivating factor when running a business. Keeping the loyal clients that you already have should always be a priority, rather than taking a new client you've never seen before. Again, I'm sorry to be writing this review at this time when I know you must be hurting for business in this economy right now. But you just lost a loyal customer. read more

I recently used my living social with Tracy at New Reflections, and I am happy with the outcome. Trying to book the appointment made me a bit nervous after reading previous reviews. After 3 attempts, conversation through text was finally rolling. After having to change my school schedule around last minute, I had to switch the appointment day. We agreed upon a day and time, but was threatened that if I cancel the appointment she would have to redeem the livingsocial without service. Communication skills could be better. I spent a lot of money last time for a haircut I didn't love. I figured Groupon would be great to get a deal and hopefully find someone I love and an continue to use. I called and she answered and immediately asked if I had a Groupon, I said yes and asked if she had time that day as Christmas and holidays are coming up and I need a cut stat. I'm hairstylist over 30 yrs. I went to Tracy lol as a hairstylist I know how the correct way to put foils on a client. Tracy doesn't know how to put divide section of the hair to make the highlight to form a a blended to color she doesn't know how to weave a highlight. She was telling me how she going try something new highlight techniques lol once I saw the mistakes she was doing I knew my hair be mess up. $190 and you don't know how to do highlights or listing to client what they want that is totally wrong in my book. If client wants a look you give the person what they want not put a so dark color and not give a proper full highlight. And especially not leave the bleach so long on the person hair. Turning it white mean s you Overprocessed the hair and you wanted do what u wanted for my hair cut when I told you I wanted this other style. You totally ruin my hair. Pls you should never tell a client o you had so much gray and you look terrible That is fuck up what you said to me. Because me being a professional Redkin hairstylist we do whatever the client wants to make them happy even if we say we going do this we make sure we are in the same page if not you set yourself to lose your clients. So Tracy you truly need to go back to classes of highlight placement and learn to be professional. And truly listen to the clients. In other states as a hairstylist if the client is unhappy with the service I don't charge them the full price. I want them come back add more highlights give them products so they kept their hair healthy. Very happy with my haircut with Tracy. Been wanting to get highlights again, and found her Groupon deal which was very reasonable and had good reviews. My experience was very good. She was quick to get back to me for setting up the appointment and had me booked in the same week. The haircut and highlights looked great, and she was very good to communicate what she was doing, and made sure to ask questions and listen to what I wanted. She was also very willing to answer any of the questions I had throughout the session, and also gave me some good recommendations on products to check out, without forcing me to buy it from her or the salon. I did have to pay extra for the toner as some people mentioned here, but she made sure to ask me before adding it to give me the option instead of just making me pay extra without knowing. This place is great! Tracy did my hair and she did an amazing job! I had bleached and dyed my hair at home and I really wanted it fixed. I wasn't exactly sure what style(balayage or ombré) I wanted to get so she explained both to me. While she was bleaching my hair she explained what was going on and what was being put in my hair and I found that very informing and helpful. Any hair questions that I asked she answered! Tracy also did exactly what I wanted for my cut! She kept the shape that I wanted and also kept some nice layering which looks really nice with the ombré I got! I also wanted to get very light and subtle face framing that would fall nicely when my hair was down and up. She did a really nice job on that too! I got an ombré and here are some pictures! I never leave reviews... but.. I visited Tracy for cut and partial highlights (via Groupon). I had texted her a week prior to the appointment that I wanted light brown highlights, and sent her a picture of my dark brown hair. We didn't get started until 30 minutes into the appointment (which is fine, I understand that she was busy) THEN she told me that she didn't enough time for me since I wasn't clear enough in my text (even though I WAS). THEN she told me that it was an extra $55, since I was asking for an "extra service" apparently partial highlights on dark brown hair is 2 services..... bleach highlights... then light brown on top? I've never heard of that before. If she told me this at the time we booked the appointment, it wouldn't be a problem. But I didn't know this until she realized that she didn't book enough time for me, and we were already 30 min late to the appointment. Wondering if she charged other people extra.. She was very unprofessional about the whole situation and it was not an enjoyable experience. I expressed to her how I felt and she said "well it's a groupon so I don't make much so I have to charge more, if you had light hair all I'd had to do is put in bleach, but since its dark i have to put in color too". So "partial highlights" only apply to light hair? It was really odd.. Aside from all of that, she did a good job on my hair (after telling me how difficult my hair is to work with.. multiple times). Tracy at New Reflections was awesome. I showed her a picture of a color I had in mind for my all over color and she came up with a few suggestions. She educated me on how my greying hair would affect the color. She mixed up a special concoction of color that looked like I was born with it. I haven't been to a professional stylist since mine original one passed away a few years ago. I have found my new true stylist. She ended the day with a cut that gave my hair new life. I'm ready to face my 50th birthday with a renewed self esteem and confidence. Tracy is amazing. Oh and the salon is perfectly decorated with a combination of natural and indoor light so you know exactly how your color will look in the sun. Please go get your locks done at her salon. Thursday 12/27/18 The original thought was to purchase a Groupon for this Salon , but we called and the stylist Tracy said "Don't buy a Groupon, pay me in cash" little did we know that was part of the plan to scam us. You see if you do not buy a Groupon they will never know about her scam. We arrived at the scheduled time of 5:30. Tracy was working on someone and had someone waiting. Finally at 5:50 she spoke about what the service would be. Color, lightening roots and an overall blonde lift. Not using bleach, Mind you I have had this done before, WITH NO GOLD/RED tones. Okay no joke 4 hours later that's right 4 HOURS, and many treatments later STRAWBERRY blonde is what the result was. Not only was Tracy, not taking any ownership of the mistake, she was blaming, and she charged DOUBLE the price. Saying "well go get a snack and come back we can bleach it" already said NO BLEACH. After all the chemicals she used chances are hair would fall out after the bleaching, her response foe the extra charges..."Well I had to use more products"....Wasn't her mistake, "wait don't we want to leave a tip??" What the heck She messed up!!! Used my card, no way paying cash. She never sent me a receipt, I called the next day to ask for a receipt, she was rude on the phone and said "cancel the transaction" I wish we had read Yelp before we went to her!!!! Terrible mistake!! I have seen that Tracy responds to other comments, her right, just like its mine to leave a review. Ownership? Nope all the customers fault. I purchased a Groupon for a Cut and Color with Tracy, after I totally F#@% up my hair by bleaching and dying it myself. I went in for a consult (yes it was that bad). She asked a lot of questions, so that I could get exactly what I wanted to achieve. I did have some issues getting in contact but as Frances said, she does have other clients, and text did work best. The day came, and OMG, my hair and color were exactly what I wanted. I found pics online of what I was looking for, & she nailed it! My hair looks and feels healthy and the color is amazing. She took off exactly what I wanted. It costed a little bit more than the Groupon, but it was a color correction, so I expected it. Tracy is Friendly, and talented, and remained professional. This is a long over due review and I wish I posted it sooner. Do not waste your money on this salon. She is used to working with bland flat virgin hair. I on the other hand have curly dyed hair. I came in with a groupon and agreeably paid extra for a different service. Which is fine. She worked slowly and missed many important details. I asked for a balayage came out with whatever you would call my hair. She told me that my hair might not lift as much color since my hair wasn't Virgin. she used a completely off color than what I showed her. Didn't tone my hair. Mind you that when it was time to style my hair, she was unable to and asked me to do a service I had paid her for. Weeks later my hair started to turn orange. Obviously I had it re done and it looks so much better than before. My hair color removed easily. My hair was toned and it blended it much better. Also my hair isn't orange anymore. I have seen this women clap back at others with negative reviews, and I do not care what she has to say because she honestly did a horrible job and I wish I didn't tip her. She was doing laundry while doing my hair and she even left me alone in the shop for a while. She's a great conversationalist but she doesn't have professional boundaries.
