Need something to read, a snack, a drink, or a souvenir. Great place to stop before or after your flight.

I have a friend that I need to give some little goodies from WA and thank goodness for this gift…read moreshop. They got plenty of treats and souvenirs to choose from. I ended up purchasing milk chocolates, fruit & nut candies, ref magnet and some himalayan salt. Cashier was friendly and nice. The space is not that big and can be crowded but at-least it was clean and things are sorted neatly. Price is pretty okay I guess knowing that it's a gift shop inside the airport building. Mahalo for reading and happy juandering fellow yeeps!

Bigfoot approved!…read more Made in Washington is a different kind of airport store. If you're looking for your standard travel snacks and magazines, you might be a little disappointed. This place focuses on showcasing products made right here in Washington state. Think less energy drinks and more... well, Bigfoot and mountains. Not surprisingly, a lot of the merchandise features iconic imagery of the Pacific Northwest, like Bigfoot and majestic mountain ranges. You'll find these images plastered on everything from mugs to t-shirts. It's definitely a good place to grab a last-minute souvenir if you forgot to pick something up during your trip. One of the more interesting aspects of the store is its selection of Indigenous-inspired art products, such as postcards. These offer a unique and culturally relevant souvenir option. Overall, Made in Washington is a decent place to browse if you're looking for a gift or a reminder of your time in the Evergreen State. Just don't expect to find your typical airport convenience store items. It's more of a specialty shop geared towards tourists and those looking for a taste (or a visual representation) of Washington.

I visited BoxLunch while I was at the Southcenter mall. The display window caught my eye. When I stepped in I saw that though the space is a decent size, every inch of the store is used up, to hold stock. Lots to see here! Since BoxLunch is all about trends, a lot of the items here was Disney, Star Wars, and some other trendy TV shows and movies. I nearly missed The Office swag that I was seeking, but I saw that they had an area just for The Office, which these days, is hard to find. They had Schrute Farms apparel, mugs, games, office stationary, etc... It's the most Office-themed items I've seen in a physical store. I will definitely plan to be back to stock up on items from my favorite TV show! I'm glad to have discovered a BoxLunch, which is one of those places where once you start browsing around, you'll spot something perfect for a gift for a loved one or you! Staff was friendly and the selection was large. I shall be back.

The lady asked my daughter to put her mask up higher, she's 11. Ok fine.. the way she said it though was like she committed a crime. Then, I asked the. Guy if they did military discount. He said yes! When we went to pay he gave us the military then rudely said. For next time, it's active military only that gets the discount. I said, really ? We get military discount everywhere we go it's literally 10% off and my husband has been serving the army for 12 years now! He then rudely replied, "It's illegal in the state of Washington to give military dependents the discount!" Ummm... we are his immediate family we deserve the discount just as much as him. We suffer through all the deployments and such. So much for serving the country. Ungrateful idiots who work in this store!

Then there was the wall of 1000-piece puzzles and the 3D Legos and my mind was blown! I bought my husband some magnets and look forward to returning. There are no stores near me, which is surprising because I'd think that they would do quite well. But, if in the area and I have time, I'd come back. However, that would be for ideas because I'd rather find what I want and look for it somewhere local.

Now that we got that out of the way, I really liked this little game and puzzle shop inside of the mall. I admit, I don't normally go into stores like this, but I saw their puzzle selection as I was walking past and had to check it out. And I'm so glad I did! I love puzzles and recently got a large one for my birthday after having not built one in years. I had so much fun that I was itching to get another--so the timing was perfect. I spent most of my time there looking at the puzzles, but I did wander around the rest of the store and saw lots of table top games, both mainstream and more advanced for serious gamers. There were cards, dice sets, learning toys and science sets. I also saw classic, wooden chess and checkers sets, even game tables. If you're a Lego fan, there is a smaller selection here. And POP fans should probably check out this location for their large selection. What really got me pumped was seeing some of their Nintendo collectibles, items, and themed merchandise. There were mugs, Zelda Master Sword and shield props, and even Nintendo themed board games. I ended up getting two puzzles, a 1,000 piece panorama one ($25) and a smaller 550 piece Zelda puzzle ($10). However, I was extremely tempted by their selections of mystery puzzle games, Ravensburger, Aquarius, and Heye triangular box puzzles (much more expensive, but so cool). Can't wait to come back to get more!

The only thing that was a little irritating was the service. We were there 3 hours before our flight. The shop was supposed to be open according to posted hours, but it wasn't. Finally about an hour before boarding, it opened. I took about 15 minutes to pay my tab at the restaurant, and then went into the shop. I was already browsing about 5 minutes, and the clerk informed me she had to close, and I had to leave not even allowing me to pay for the few things I had picked. About 15 minutes before boarding, she came back and opened back up, so I went in and bought the things I could get in that time. If I hadn't liked the shop so much, I wouldn't have gone back.

The shop is packed with the cutest souvenirs--think charming stickers, mugs, landmark bags, pins, tees, and more. It's a tiny space bursting with personality. Nancy, who was running the store, truly made the experience memorable. She was incredibly kind and attentive, even offering to hold my items so I could browse more comfortably. I watched her warmly connect with each customer--she clearly cares about people, not just sales. I ended up grabbing an adorable Alaska landmark bag, and when she saw my paper shopping bag was torn, she helped me transfer everything into my new one. Just a small act, but it made my day. If you're in the area, definitely swing by. It's the kind of place that gives you that little boost of serotonin with all the colors and leaves you smiling.
