This is an adorable store in Sea-Tac airport in the main body of the airport. They have some great stuff that I've never really seen anywhere else. Almost all of it is "golden age of travel" or airplane/airline themed so if you love travel or love that era you will love browsing this store. They also have some cute Seatle merch that is much better than what you find at souvenir shops. I wish I had more room in my bag to bring home some truly unique items but I only ended up with some small things which I really loved. read more

When it comes to stores located inside airports, I think Planewear is one of the best of the best. I've flown all around the world, and this store - located in the Seattle airport - is probably the most fun place I've ever shopped while waiting for my flight. Everything in this store is aviation related, and it's the ideal spot if you're looking for a unique, fun, and interesting gift for a frequent traveler. The inventory ranges from things like pilot wings, model airplanes, paper airplane books and Airports of the World coloring books for children, to more conversation-starting pieces like luggage tags crafted from the fuselage of real 747s, bomber jackets, neckties designed with maps of famous cities, and t-shirts with retro logos of airlines of yesteryear. There is so much cool stuff in this store, and it's well-stocked and really, really cool. I browsed in here a pretty long time and never got bored. It was difficult to tell who was working in the store, however. Tip: just look for the person wearing an old stewardess hat or Top Gun cap! read more

I was going to make a purchase here but decided not to when it was clear a woman working here kept following me around the store. I would turn to go browse in another direction and she would as well. The coolest store to find retro Pan-Am gear. When I was a kid I was always checking the super cute outfits of the flight attendants from the movies and from the 50s/60s (in my country don't recall cool ensembles like these) and even for a while I wanted to have that profession. Fear of heights and short size and bad vision kept me away but glad to see that we have stores that can fulfill our inner 'assistant from the skies' dressing fantasies. Other than cool Pan-Am wear and gear you will find anything related to the travel world. I love the world globes too (pity that sometimes the countries are located in the wrong spot or you find Paris mixed with Ouagadougou...but for a 'gift from the airport ' surely will do it. read more

I love these types of stores. The memories of Boeing's 747 and seeing TWA and other iconic aviation brands are so soothing. I know the prices are inflated but spending 15-20 minutes here is like a time travel to the glory days of traveling when suits and hats were fashionable instead of shorts and flip flops. There are all sorts of iconic stuff to look at and reminisce about. There is all sort of gifts for family and friends that love aviation stuff. I did spot a couple of things that I may have to pick up as Christmas gifts when I return to Seattle. read more

Aviation buffs rejoice. This little shop sells sarcastic and plane funny aviation gear. I recommend watching the time as I easily spent 30 minutes perusing through nostalgic airline memorabilia. There is a selection of collector models, tie clips, lapel pins, and watches. I highly recommend looking through the luggage tag display. The designs are from the golden age of travel with a touch of sarcasm and sharp wit. They also sell apparel, hats, and other aviation themed items. There's a section for children which also has models, books, junior airline pilot gear, and other items to keep the kids entertained. I was in search for a unique present for a frequent traveler. I ended up purchasing eye shades, a Lionel Richie luggage tag, and a Seattle postcard. The prices are reasonable and the merchandise is definitely unique and sarcastically funny. read more

One of the most unique and coolest stores in a North American airport, a must-see is you're flying through Sea-Tac. They specialize in airport and carrier memorabilia, and it's really fun to explore. This may be the coolest store inside an airport terminal that I have ever seen. It is an aviation-themed shop and has all things related to planes and airlines and flying. It's such a cute concept. They sell those retro Pan Am bags, plush planes, pilot-style jackets, T-shirts, pins, and more. They even had those hats that flight attendants wore back in the day - it would be a great piece if you were putting together an outfit for a costume party. This is a great place to shop for aviation aficionados and pick up some stocking stuffers. I didn't buy anything, but there were so many cute things with plane logos that I would've loved to purchase. It was a lot of fun just looking around - there's so much to see. The two employees working the store the day I visited were also super friendly. One of the girls was telling me that the store opened up in the terminal about a year ago. Love the store & products, I remember when they first opened. Not thrilled with the staff that was working when I rolled in . In my FA uniform (real ) was expecting a little attention because I love vintage airline . But got a lady on a personal phone call from time I entered until I left. A gentleman said " hey how ya doing " and that was it. Great prices for most smaller items but cooler items are pricey!
