This company has a LOT of hidden fees and once they have you locked in they start their upcharges. Be forewarned. If I could give Oscar a negative score for screwing me over I would. if I could say -10000 stars, I would! They are a bait & switch broker. my price tripled 2 days before I had to move states. Jacob Garcia & Suzy Anderson is who we dealt with. They ripped off a disabled woman. Lied about the cost. lied about what we could put in the truck, got ripped off by the guys who picked it up. The only ones that worked with us was the delivery company in CT. It took 10 days to get our stuff & told it was 4. The Ocean Movers in Florida are the pick up guys. They took boxes they were told not to. Threw prescription glasses on the floor & broke them, bent a lamp, smashed a table. I had no choice but to pay & they bet on that. Terrible company with hidden fees. The final cost was almost double the estimate I initially received from the broker, New Start Realty and Relocation. They charge for every item they touch instead of by truck size. The vendor they hooked me up with (U.S. Save) was the worst moving company I've ever used. Extremely unprofessional and broke stuff. The unloading team openly argued with the packing team when they couldn't find the power supply and hoses to set up my sleep number bed. Had I not insisted they do their job, i wouldn't have a bed to sleep on. As it is they turned over every box and left the biggest mess. I would give them zero stars, if I could. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! A terrible bait and switch broker/middle man that hires terrible movers. Run. Rent a POD, UPack, rent a UHaul, get a local mover. They rope you in with a low-ball quote. Once they get a deposit, they change the quote/cubic feet 2 or 3 times. At your house they change the cubic feet again by just visually glancing at your items (no way to verify) and threaten to leave, and keep your deposit unless you sign and give them your CC. They pack like gorillas. They are using an old US DOT# which is illegal from a company they bought out, Eagle Moving. There customer service is terrible. I asked to speak to the owner, Jeffrey Griest, and the customer service manager, Jamie F, said, I quote, "He doesn't speak to customers." read more

New Start Relocation has deceptive pricing lacking transparency. I arranged a move from Williamsburg, VA, to Rockford, IL, and another move from Williamsburg to Ellicott City, MD. The "binding estimates" were $3000 and $2740, respectively, but the final bills were $6704 and $4630. New Start has very pleasant smooth-talking brokers who follow a sleazy unethical script. My broker claimed he would be present at pickup, which was a lie--pickup is by an assigned carrier. He made a very reasonable sounding promise that the estimate could go up or down, but that too was a lie: he knew the price would go up, by about double. He disingenuously showed personal care by giving me his cell phone number, but when I called back, my call was automatically forwarded to the front office. Shortly before the move (too late to make alternate plans), the broker called to verify the moving list. Unless you know the precise list of items, with dimensions and cubic feet, you will end up being hit with surcharges, even if the list does not substantially change from the initial estimate. On the day of the move I learned that there were additional charges: $300 fuel surcharge, $400 bulk fee (for a queen bedframe and mattress), and $480 materials (which you purchase at Home Depot for a fraction of that price). Although we were not charged extra delivery fees, be aware that there is a potential also to pay extra delivery fees for extra stair steps, no elevator, long walk to truck. Once I signed the contract with the broker, I was in the hands of the assigned carrier, when New Start was unhelpful. There was miscommunication and confusion between New Start and the carrier over the basic plan (two separate moves, each with two delivery stops). Only the evening before delivery did the carrier inform me of the date and time of the delivery. On pickup, I had to sign 12 separate documents, many signing away certain rights to the carrier. On the positive side, the broker was very accommodating to meet my schedule for pickup and delivery (although the carrier followed through, there was some uncertainty about when the carrier would actually deliver). Also, the carrier (Home and Office Movers) packed and uplacked carefully. Nothing was lost or broken. My advice: Try to find a company you can trust. Know your moving list in detail, with dimensions and cubic feet. Ask many questions about possible extra fees. Be aware that the broker is motivated to get you to sign an unrealistic low-ball estimate, after which you will be in the hands of an assigned carrier. My main issue is lack of honest transparent pricing. read more

I I could give a zero star, I would. The quote was ridiculously inaccurate. Whats more abused is that I was directed to sign the contract over the phone call and without being told about the delivery window (2-14 business days). And yet, their costumer service told me it has been a very common practice and most people sign over the phone call. Also, they kept blaming me on not reading the contract even after I signed. They do not seem understand the difference between full consent before and after the signature. The customer service was with very disrespectful attitude. Is feasible for all costumers to read the contract report over a phone call? For the pick up day, they actually called me at 6 pm on Sunday to ask if they could change the pickup date to the following Monday at 7 AM because they had a truck around. What company gives costumers date change request only 12 hours in advance and it was a Sunday. Regardless, we coordinated our schedule for their convenience, and they just left our stuff at a storage after the pick up. Now, I have been left in hanging for one week after the pick up. No one got me any update even after I called them three times. They just kept saying that they will update me. I finally made another push again and I was told that our stuff was still at the storage. Then they said that they did not even know when the shipment would be in transit four days after the first delivery date. I assume they are even trying to deliver in the early during the time window. For future costumers, do not say yes to early pickup unless you do not want to leave your stuff at a storage for a long time. Overall, I would not recommend anyone to use this company for moving. read more

Do not use this moving company. Our $8,000 move turned into a $20,000 move. The sales team will tell you anything to book. Every time you talk to someone new the price changes dramatically. They farm out booked jobs to third party moving companies that have a completely different contract. We used them, they then scheduled another company to come and do the move. When that company came they basically held our move and our furniture hostage until we paid even more money. They charged for all the moving expenses (tape, blankets, packing material) which it said in the contract that they do not charge for. The moving company that actually moved us was horrible beyond belief. Customer service was ridiculously rude and condescending. Filed a complaint with the BBB and all review platforms. Do yourself a favor and go with the reputable big name movers. We tried to save money and ended up paying more with New Start than we were quoted by Mayflower and Allied Van lines. So I paid WAY more, we were treated horribly and our stuff was treated horribly. NOT WORT IT! read more

Used this company to move literally a mile down the road all in surprise very little furniture and most everything already packed in boxes. The movers themselves were good but for a three bedroom home with only three beds two dressers and a fridge along with about 15 boxes into a new house a mile away it took all day. Furniture was broken and the base on my television was also broke. The owner only credited me about $50 for the damages and tried to fix what they broke which didn't work. When I moved my parents from their home from across town I spent less using two men and a truck. And it took less time and was done professionally with nothing damaged. Thought using a local business was the way to go but hey lesson learned. Not planning on moving anytime soon but if I ever do will not use this company and will go with two men and a truck which took half the time while moving more furniture across a longer distance with one less pers Update: In response to the owner reply to my review I paid you at your truck in my driveway the same place where I tipped out your movers they did their best and again no complaints on them the damages of corse were accidental but again I stand by my review also I moved my parents into my new home using two men and a truck with the same size truck one less mover and a farther distance did a far superior job again not looking for any money or credit back just stating how I felt about the transaction good luck to you sir in your business and future read more
