It's not a "vintage boutique." It's an honest-to-goodness, old-fashioned thrift store, like the kind you remember. A place where you can buy the basics for your new apartment's kitchen for just a few bucks. It's a small space, but packed with goodies, and really fun to explore. The neighborhood donates interesting stuff, so I always walk out with something cool. The ladies that work there are wonderful. Half-price on Tuesdays, which is amazing, since the prices are already low. The money goes to the church that's attached, so I usually throw in a couple of extra dollars on top. One bonus point for the name, "New to You," which I always imagine has a little bit of attitude to it (but really doesn't). read more

Not only is the shop cool to browse (I found a designer placemat for a dollar), but I was able to take advantage of their program where you can meet with a personal stylist who curates outfits for trans and gender non conforming customers. It was the most fun I've had clothes shopping in so many years. I get compliments often on the pieces I bought there, and I plan to make a donation soon because I want this place to be around for a long time-- it's already a cultural institution! read more

A very cute thrift shop! Definitely smaller than most, but there were so many wonderful items I saw! I spotted lots of nice dress shirts (even some Brooks Brothers!) and ended up snagging a pair of vintage Calvin Klein jeans for $1.62! The folks inside were friendly and there's one fitting room to try clothes on in! read more

Great little store. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. As with most thrift stores, there is a lot more wider selection of clothes for women but I found a few really nice items of mens clothing and accessories. Will definitely be shopping there again read more

Passing by I saw really cute shoes in the window. Black Guess high heels. I wanted them. But the store was closed. And closed again because it was Sunday and Monday. So today is Tuesday and the store is open from 10 am to 7pm. I in front of the store by 9:59am to get my heels. I scored PERFECT Guess shoes for $7. I felt so guilty that I looked around to buy something else and found a perfect doggy treat jar and so I go to buy it and it is $1.50. Scored again!!!! I saw lots of jewelry, shoes, purses, board games, wine glass, plates that I thought were really nice. Can't wait to go back. read more

Wonderful shop with the BEST prices. Definitely more affordable than what we find at Goodwill or Salvation Army. Found 3 pieces of work clothes for $3 a piece . Very happy! Will be donating here and coming back whenever I am in the neighborhood. read more

Wonderful. This is how thrift shops USED TO BE and SHOULD STILL BE. Quiet, friendly, a ton of good merchandise to choose from including BOOKS (which thrift stores never have anymore.), quality things at great prices... My husband and I visited recently and got a glass vase, three molded plastic glasses, three shirts, two pairs of shorts including padded bike shorts, two caps, four cards, and three books including the Martha Stewart Cookbook (not a small item) for twenty-six dollars. !!! I've found quite a few treasures here, including tons of quilt binding for $.50, some adorable kids clothes, and a gorgeous vintage dress for $1. Everything is very reasonably priced, and they have great sales on top of that. The ladies here are friendly, although they make me feel a bit neurotic about watching my kids at all times. They don't like your strollers and they don't want your kids touching their toy display. If you have a small child who breaks this rule (which mine did immediately, because that display is quite enticing), you will get some stern words. read more

Hadn't been here in years, but just as I remembered it. Thrift stores charge a lot for their (free to them!) merchandise these days. But not here! Prices were already fair, but women's clothing was half price the day I visited. I walked away with four very nice pieces of clothing for $5! Try to do that at a Salvation Army, Village Thrift, or Goodwill store these days...NOT. And to top it off, the staff is courteous and helpful. :) Great shopping experience. read more

Love this place, when I moved to RP, I bought all my kitchenware from here. They were having a half-off sale (which I think may be a permanent phenomenon, because when I came back months later, they were having another half-off sale). I bought a vase for 2.50 and my boyfriend bought a cup featuring one of those pictures where they superimpose your face onto an image. In this case, it was a random guy with a Rambo body. To the person earlier who was surprised that this place "isn't at all hip" and that the women say "Have a blessed day"- this place is a small, part-time church thrift store. I don't think "hip" is what they're going for! This place is insanely cheap and so, so, SO nice. Some weeks they just have half-off sales because they love their customers. I found a $300 vintage leather jacket here one time for $7. The ladies who run the place are always nice and I recommend donating your extra change to the church. I'm not even religious, but if any community organization deserves it, it's this wonderful store. read more

This place isn't at all hip, but the prices are really low. The ladies who work there are very nice and always say to "Have a blessed day!" when you leave. They often have sales. This is a nice little thrift store. It's clean and well-organized which is rather a rarity among Chicago thrift stores and the ladies who work there are nice too. Most of the clothes skewed a little matronly for me but they had a nice selection of housewares, jewelry and accessories. Their book section was definitely better than average as well. There are some real gems here and not a lot of junk. The prices are so reasonable it's hard to go far wrong. I'm definitely making this a regular stop on my neighborhood treasure hunts. read more

Traditional, old-school thrift store with low prices and a nice selection of stuff. Not huge, but great prices. (Has anyone else noticed that a lot of stuff at thrift stores is getting pricey?) I had especially good luck the other day in a huge section sale section they had of 1/2 off cookware/kitchen items. Got a near-new cupcake carrier for $15, and various glass pyrex stuff with covers for $1.50 and $2.50 respectively. read more

I shop here all the time. Check the website for hours, which are limited. Small thrift store, with some hidden gems. I found a very nice women's business suit, that cost $4. Most of my purchases are in the $1 - $2 range. I get frequent compliments on my what I'm wearing, and some of my best finds are from this shop. An added plus is the dressing room! read more

The best thrift store I've found in Chicago for finding cheap, CHEAP home items. I found some cool quirky coffee mugs and jars for 50 cents each, really lovely curtains and sheets for $2 each, and though I didn't buy clothes there seemed to be a decent selection. I like it because it's small, well-organized and easy to navigate, and the women at the counter are always super friendly. read more
