My husband has had so much trouble getting help at New West Medical. Staff seem unapproachable, rude and dismissive. When explaining the CPap, we were rushed out the door after a confusing explanation. We've been in twice and called several times. Today, trying to get help with a CPap that doesn't "Start", we were on hold for 38 minutes. No one ever answered our call. I would not recommend this business to anyone. So frustrating. read more

From the time my doctor sent in a prescription for my CPAP machine, it took two months to get it, with me making four phone calls to them trying to find out what the delay was. Very unimpressed with their customer service. When I went to pick up my CPAP machine in the Walnut Creek office, the reception room looked like a polling location with the sparse furniture. I actually thought the office was under construction, but the office manager assured me that wasn't the case. There was no one at the front desk to receive me. When the office manager came to look in the reception area and saw me, she pointed to a sign that said ring Bell for Service. The sign was covered up by the sign in sheet so I hadn't seen it. I mentioned to her that a better solution would be to have a sign on the window right above where you sign in. read more

I didn't know what to expect going to New West Medical, but Kary made the experience wonderful. She has the patience to go over the instructions on how to care for the CPAP and how to use it to its full potential. Terrible customer service. I spent 2 months going through the process to get a secondary prescription sent to them to have it filled for a CPAP machine and they refused to fill my prescription and basically told me that jiva health study and Dr. Gamboe were circumventing medicare's guidelines and that seems to me that they could be held liable. And that is not the case because jiva nor the hospital would put themselves in that position. New West medical should stick to what they do and provide medical supplies. I will not ever be using them again and I have two special needs children that require a lot of equipment and a lot of supplies. So my business will now be going to NorCal respiratory. read more

I have been using New West medical in Redding California ever since my lungs became compromised over 12 years ago and I have used New West medical since day one I have nothing but good to say about them they have always met my needs for cannulas for oxygen tanks for regulators they have a vast inventory of mobility devices and lift chairs they will treat you like royalty it's not all about the buck for them it's about the customer service they have a good staff that's been there for a long time and they treat each and every one of their customers with dignity and respect and they take most insurance. read more

I am a relatively new user of a C-pap machine. My doctor gave my a prescription for a new type of mask to make sleep more comfortable. I had an in person appointment to be fitted with the correct size of pillows and to learn how to best use this mask. The appointment was easy to schedule. I went to them in Nov., 2025 to be measured for compression hose. After waiting a very long time, it turns out they ordered the wrong product (they even admitted it). contacting them is a nightmare: first I got a person in Redding who needed to know all about my reason for callinf; he transferred me to Sacramento, and I had to explain it again. Assured they'd call me back, I had to phone myself two weeks later. Very poor customer service. I still don't have the compression hose my doctor ordered, but I'm told I can always call back if I don't hear from them! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the very professional video follow-up visit with Kary Martin, the respiratory therapist, after receiving my new CPAP machine. I had been using a different model machine for the past 7 years, but Kary made sure I was familiar with the use and operation of the new machine, and I learned much about how my usage is transmitted and monitored. She also made sure that I had and understood all of the maintenance and accessory replacement details which New West Medical sent with the machine, together with contact information for anything I might need in the future. I am a 10+ year CPAP user. I was first referred to New West Medical in July 2025 to re-stock various supplies. I worked with Linda Duggan who was absolutely great-she coordinated everything with my insurance and communicated with me every step of the way. Then, when my original CPAP machine started going on the blink a couple months ago, my sleep doctor issued prescription for a new machine (ResMed Air Sense 11) to New West Medical. I worked with a couple of different people and picked up my new machine and supplies a couple of days ago. When I arrived for my appointment, Katy Martin, RT, already had my new machine all set up and proceeded to give me a thorough demonstration about my new machine operates and also explained the various settings. She also provided me with all of the related supplies and a folder including all relevant documents/paperwork, including a copy of the delivery ticket. By the time I got home following the appointment, I had already received an email from Katy-along with a link to a video on setting up the new equipment. I was able to easily complete the set up at home and the new CPAP machine has operated flawlessly and without any problems or issues the first two nights. Working with New West Medical has been so much easier than my previous DME provider/supplier. Everybody there has been both capable and courteous-a rare combination in this day and age. On 1-28-26, my husband and I met with Mark Dewart in the Chico, CA office. This meeting was to discuss what the process would be to get a new wheelchair for my husband who had a BKN amputation on 1-8-26. Mark insisted that insurance would not cover a new chair since his current chair was paid for in 2023. He attempted make "adjustments" to the chair and then came to the conclusion that it cound not be adjusted or modified for an amputee. On February 9, 2026, Mark came to our home and had my husband go through an OT eval virtually. At the end of this visit Mark stated he would submit everything to Deanne Kincaid in the Redding office for paperwork processing and submission to insurance. Deanne sat on paperwork and the file from 2/12/2026 to first insurance submittal on 3/19/2026. Insurance approved the prior authorization on 3/30/2026. We followed up with Deanne because we receive insurance notifications of approval and again she insisted that she didn't get the information. It took from 3/30/2026 to 5/1/2026 to have the chair delivered. The chair that was brought was not what had been discussed or agreed upon. Ultimately, my husband refused the chair and we went back to meet with Mark on 5/82026 to discuss chair configurations. He said he was going to order the corrected parts and my husband would have the chair in 2 weeks. It took until 6/2/2026 to finally receive the chair, except the rugged terrain tires were not on the chair. My husband contacted Deanne once again about submitting a prior authorization to insurance and she informed him her boss Tony said we could pay out of pocket for their price for the tires but they would not submit the request to insurance. Over 5 months of a process for a wheelchair for a person without a leg. Then to be told they were refusing to submit paperwork is ridiculous. This company needs a serious overhaul. To tell someone they simply refuse to submit paperwork just because they have the potential to not be reimbursed by insurance for a product they mark up nearly 4x the cost is insane. If you need immediate medical supply or mobility aids look somewhere else. They clearly do not have anyone's interest in mind other than lining their own pockets. read more

Mark came out to my mother's house while the physical therapist was there to make sure she had the proper fit for her new e chair. He was helpful, easy to communicate with and prompt. Medicare paid for the chair. That's another story. read more

I was in dire need to get some help and someone to compassionately listen to my husband's needs for home vent as we have faced challenging times of prolonged hospitalization. After a nightmare discharge, I needed support to continue to care for my husband at home. Jeannie was helpful in responding to my inquiries, was prompt in calling back, and kept me posted. She was able to arrange for us in a matter of days rather than the weeks it would have taken. She also sent Steve, a very skilled respiratory therapist, who took the time to explain things to us and support us. Knowing that people still have compassionate and still passionate about their jobs makes me happy. I am awarding them 5 stars because of their excellent, timely, and caring service. read more
