    Onion bagel w/cream cheese
    Kelsey M.

FINALLY a place that has real onion bagels. We need one of these bagel places in Gonzales, LA and also the rest of the world. Also Espresso Breze (I think I spelt that correctly) is soooo good. New favorite espresso drink . This will be a weekly stop for me now.

I had never been to this location I usually use the one located inside Price Leblanc Toyota. I ordered the philly cheese steak hoagie meal with the bagel chips , cream cheese dip, and a drink then I added jalapeños. It cost $12 something which I rounded to $13. The sandwhich was okay but honestly for $13 I can go get anything I want so I probably won't pay that for a sandwhich again. I didn't find it any better than subway and subway is a good bit cheaper!

This NYB location is the BEST!! The employees are very friendly and service is QUICK! This location also has the fluffiest bagels you will find. Highly recommend!

Great sandwich that came out super fast. Both workers I interacted with were super nice! The ham is super flavorful and the bagel was toasted just right. My only mild disappointment was that I thought the sandwich came with bagel chips.

I'M READY TO RETURN! I've seen this little place a few times in passing, but honestly didn't stop because I'm usually in a rush when I'm in this area. I'm glad I actually stopped. They immediately greeted me when I entered. It's wasn't a generic welcome either. You know the one they say on cue when you enter. The young man welcomed me and asked me what would I like. I had to immediately admit that it was my first time. He briefed me on the menu. I quickly explained that I'm very simple and expressed that I love espresso. Haha. He suggested a latte with caramel. So of course I said let me have it. They didn't have the bells and whistles as for as the whip cream and drizzle that I'm use to but it was awesome. The drink was carefully made and not filled with foam. He offered a few other items, but I wasn't hungry at all. I just needed my Expresso. He was so kind and welcoming, that I can't wait to return and try something new along with my Expresso of course..

One of my favorite lunch spots. The food is always fresh and the workers are always smiling and pleasant. They are speedy too. My favorite is the Brooklyn Bomber.

    The New Yorker !!! Awesome

This place is great. Nothing better than a good bagel made right. All the bagels are hot and fresh. I got the New Yorker on an everything bagel. The taste is absolutely amazing. I love the blend of capers, onions and salmon, they really complement the flavor of the bagel. The price was just right and the service was extremely friendly !!!!!! The young lady behind the counter was super enthusiastic and cheerful. The place was spotless clean. Very conveniently located. Even more reason to get here more often

It means so much to have found my new go-to coffee spot when I'm back in BR. The space itself is perfectly warm, clean, and welcoming. Everything is curated to make you feel like you belong. The coffee, tea, and food choices are perfect. I grabbed an espresso shot and cinnamon roll to stay and an iced matcha latte to go. The espresso was nicely dialed in, the notes were present and the barista served it wonderfully. The cinnamon roll was warmed up and freshly iced before being served. The matcha was so good, and a great choice to takeaway as a treat. The staff here really goes beyond to provide excellent service. This is my new go-to coffee spot in Baton Rouge. Thanks Coffee Joy!

Every table has outlets for devices, the space is open and well laid out with a mix of tables and comfortable couches that invite you to stay. The lighting is soft and warm, and gentle French music in the background creates a charming atmosphere. It's so comfortable it genuinely feels like a home away from home. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring seasonal items, genuinely fresh pastries, and excellent savory options. The equipment used to prepare both coffee and tea is top-of-the-line, and the quality shows in every cup. The olives pogača (pronounced pasha in Turkish), topped with sea salt, is truly unique--fluffy, rich, and deeply satisfying. The baklava is served warm and is remarkably soft and easy to enjoy, unlike the usually firm, layered texture you expect. There's also an impressive tea selection with real flavor, loose-leaf options, and specialty coffees, including French press with a choice of beans. Honestly, this place feels like a luxury for this town.

I'm pretty sure the baristas remember my order better than I do. Here's what makes Reve worth the visit: - The coffee is legitimately phenomenal. They're all about quality over quantity, using science-based brewing and traditional standards to craft coffee that actually tastes like they care. Because they do. If instant gratification is your thing, Starbucks is down the street. If you want good coffee, you're in the right place. - The baristas actually know their stuff. They'll help you find exactly what you're looking for without making you feel clueless. Fair warning though: this is their coffee shop, and they're respectfully enthusiastic about doing things right. Treat them like the humans they are, and you'll have a genuinely great interaction. - The vibe hits different. It's cozy and intimate inside (compact in the best way), but if the weather's nice, the patio is where it's at--plenty of space, zero stress. Work, study, hang out with friends--it all just works here. If you care about good coffee, good people, and a space that actually feels like somewhere you'd want to be, Reve Coffee Lab is your spot.

It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA

Instead, I was trying to meet a friend for lunch and he was so late that we couldn't get in where were trying to go. I saw the sign and off we went to Simple Joe Cafe. Simple, it is. Awesome food, it also is. This place is not fancy nor is it meant to be. This is a solidly Americana type menu and ordering at the counter, serving your own coffee, and picking your own table kind of place. AKA - the kind of place I love. I have been here a few times now and only had breakfast. Hint: they serve it all day. The two meat omelet is a great choice and has been my go-to. The other day some friends got burgers and a club sandwich and those looked great too. This will definitely be in the rotation for lunch.

I also ordered the poached egg on the biscuit which came out as a hard boiled egg on top of a stale biscuit. I asked for an egg that wasn't " hard-boiled" and guess what came back on top... a mini quiche. I could see the confusion though, the cook probably thought that I wanted an egg prepared a different way than before. Anyway, the cheese on it wasn't even melted and the arugula was slimy like cooked spinach. Coffee egg cheese biscuit arugula . The only thing I ate was the old dry bacon. One out of five elements of that was edible. On another note, the atmosphere is very nice and it has a cool vibe. It has a really good potential, just poorly executed.
