    Pork Chop Breakfast
    Jasmine H.

Picking up something for a friend and he wanted this place so I decided what the heck. I am so glad I got something because lord was it good. For timers do not stop the the drive thru sign to order the speaker is not working. Pull to the window and order! Also the hours on here aren't correct I think they open about 5 am and close around 1. Y'all. This pork chop was pretty good. I could tell it had been marinating. It was a bit dry but it was good so I didn't care. I think that was first time I'd ever sucked on a bone. Aha. Anywho yes I do have sugar on my grits they were pretty tasty kinda thick. The eggs werent exactly scrambled more like a folded crepe but eggs. It definitely needs work, but it still was pretty good. I didn't eat the biscuit only because I was already full but nice and fluffy. I'll be back!

I went in search of a plain King's Cake. One of my teammates suggested Mikey's so I thought I would give them a try. I wasn't disappointed. I addition to the Kings Cake I decided to grab breakfast. Sausage patty, toast, eggs and potatoes with a side grits. The potatoes were well seasoned and the grits needed a touch of salt but otherwise delicious. The King's Cake amazing. I'm definitely coming back. I wanna give their pork chop sandwich a try.

Ya want a really good breakfast and not pay a ton of money? Mikey's is the place to go!! From 5:00 to 6:00 am it's drive through but after that you can sit inside. The staff bustles about cooking and serving good food and doughnuts, really good doughnuts! I've found the early morning coffee clutch old codgers holding court to be a lot of fun, they are warming up to go hang out at the barber shop. There's a super friendly nice as pie lady running the counter and a couple guys running the back, they don't seem to slow down! They are open Tuesday through Sunday. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. It's a big menu of breakfasts and a pile of different doughnuts. They make killer biscuits too!! Y'all stop in and enjoy Mikey's!!

This place is actually pretty good! It's old school and the flavors are great especially with the price. It really filled me up for the $6.60 I paid for the regular breakfast. The donuts and cinnamon rolls are also good. The only thing that made me give it a 4 star was the flavor of the sausage link. There wasn't a lot of spice in it, but everything else was delicious.

What a great visit. Came in for breakfast and I must say I wasn't disappointed. The price is very inexpensive and the options are endless. I ordered traditional grits, eggs, sausage and toast. Everything was hot and fresh. I do want to warn you that you want to order ahead. With the amount of cars in the drive through and those coming in person you're going to wait. Anytime I'm in Baton Rouge I'll continue to stop in.

Fortunately we did not run into the infamous Brad The lady was very helpful. We did get a little nervous asking her question, but she did not go off on us. Thank you kind window lady! They were out of AppleFritters and Cake Doughnuts , but they threw in an extra chocolate. I would go back in a group to maybe try breakfast

Surely did not know Mikey's Donut King has a full breakfast menu. Eggs and Rice, Pork Chops, Eggs, Grits, and Biscuits along with the selection of donuts. The service was fast and the food was a great home cooked style set up. Loved it!

I've only had a cream cheese king cake purchased at Tony's Seafood. One of the best I've had. Like a big crispy doughnut! Yum.

Having thought I've eaten through most donut shops in BR, I was surprised to learn the existence of…read moreCrispy Donut, which has supposedly been around for the better part of the last two decades. Located along Highland Road just outside of the LSU campus, this Asian-owned biz has been hiding behind a popular Chevron gas. station. It's not much to look at from the outside, but fans of donuts and kolaches will be able to enjoy something here. The inside is quiet and has limited counter seating and goes heavy on the LSU decor. It feels like a cafe that is dated but still hasn't finished the renovation. I imagine the idea is to pump some gas and get a donut, which has a staple format for so many BR peeps. The menu will always elicit a double take from me, with its awkward placement of numbers and the fact the stickers are so large that they had to abbreviate kolache to "kolach" and jalapeño to jalap. What's not condensed is those prices, which show nearly $40 for a dozen boudin kolaches and $12-20 for a dozen donuts. The breakfast croissants are $44 for a dozen, which just feels very steep. If a donut maximizes the taste, then the value is sometimes justified. However, trying their glazed, sprinkled, cake, fritters, and chocolate donuts, I can't say they're exceptional. The jalapeño kolaches and boudin kolaches were solid, but I'm not likely to order them again. The fact they still have Yoohoo in the fridge, is a nostalgic throwback I can appreciate. The owner is a sweet Cambodian man and is welcoming for every customer. Any attempts to use a credit card will incur a 50 cent surcharge for any purchases less than $5. Parking is limited to the gas station spots, but it's never crowded enough in here to be an issue. Lastly, every pastry shop is guilty of this, but the mini flies stuck inside of the display case is a massive turn off. ___________ (#1) Thank you, Yelp app.

They have kept the classic donut shop of the 1980s feel alive all while keeping customers in good spirits every morning. This woman-owned and Asian-owned spot always makes me happy each time I pass it. And of course, the donuts are excellent. The place is tiny and there is no seating. It's strictly takeout and/or drive thru, the latter of which is the preferred method for most. There are only a couple of dedicated parking spots, but it is at the tail end of a mini-strip mall. Their service is always fabulous, greeting folks with smiles, and making everyone feel extremely welcome. The donuts themselves are a classic batch of glazed, iced, filled, and cake, with specialty items like donut holes, eclairs, and cinnamon rolls. While there is a large sign for a "croissant sausage", they also are among the only donut shops that serve kolaches. Their small variety of kolaches would make any Texan proud. After taking a bite of the croissant sausage, I understood why they have their own sign. It's flake wth a nice crunch and the sausage was juicy throughout. The jalapeño and sausage is addicting and has a nice kick. I appreciated the kick from the bits of jalapeños. I'm particularly drawn to cake donuts, so their old fashioned is probably going to be my favorite. They're generous with the donut holes, leaving in a few extra for every dozen. Overall, the prices are on point, the service is phenomenal, and the food is simple but good. As a neighborhood joint, Good Morning Donuts definitely has my vote for one of the best small businesses in Baton Rouge.

Their donuts are very thick and dense which is very different from most donut places. When they're warmed they are PERFECTION. The sausage is fully encased in the dough and this is something I didn't know I needed. It was fantastic. I haven't been back and I'm very sad about that fact but plan to rectify that soon!
