Nice little cafe with walk-up counter service, but the menu posted behind the counter is not helpful. When I asked what the "Smokie Hoagie" was, the lady at the counter didn't know. But after looking around for a moment, she found a more descriptive menu. I suppose if you're a regular, that's not an issue. For a first timer, it's weird. I came here with high hopes for an Italian hoagie ("The Italian"). A good Italian hoagie is hard to find in the heart of po-boy country. The meat and cheese on this version is good, but the sandwich is kind of small and a bit dry. The menu says it includes roasted red peppers, but that was missing from my sandwich. It does appear they have a nice variety of bagels. Overall not bad, but I'm still in search of a good Italian hoagie. read more

We walked into this place and immediately noticed that almost every table had no food on it despite it being fairly busy. That was our first red flag - we knew the service was going to be slow. Unfortunately, it was even worse than we expected. We waited forever for our sandwich to come out. When it finally arrived, it was a total letdown - bland, unimpressive, and not worth the long wait. The sides were equally disappointing with very limited and unappealing options. The menu itself is pretty weak. From what we could tell, there's really only one standout item, and it's a special. Everything else we saw or tried just didn't deliver. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot unless you specifically want that one special and don't mind potentially long waits and mediocre everything else. The food was ok . This was my first time trying this market. The wait was pretty long just for a sandwich. I saw some people get their orders before me , even though they ordered after me. I'm not sure if they overlooked my order in the lineup or something but I had to go back up to the counter to ask about it. Waited on our food for 45 minutes. Noticed people that ordered behind us were getting their food. Asked what the status of our order was only to find out they lost our ticket. We didn't have time to keep waiting for them to remake it so had to leave. We wasted $40 on two sandwiches and had to run through a drive through somewhere else to get food. I've been wanting to try Mulberry Market out, so I made sure to be around here for lunchtime. This is a great little spot, specializing in bagels and sandwiches. They also have little groceries items and lots of different wine bottles you can grab. You can drink them in store now, too. Staff was friendly and everything moved pretty quickly. I ordered their special, the chicken salad croissant. You can grab a drink and chips. It was about $17 for my lunch, a little high for what it was, but I was expecting that. The chicken salad was lacking in any special flavor, so that was disappointing. I'll have to try one of their other items when I go back. It's a cute little spot where you can settle in or you can grab and go. They also have some desserts you could grab. While you're there. Im looking forward to trying other things! read more

I literally never do food reviews! They need to figure out a better system! It should never take a sandwich shop/lunch spot over 45 min to make two sandwiches! They allow too many to go orders with DoorDash, GrubHub, and different food delivery services at one time, causing chaos. Along with people like me went in to order. The ingredients are top quality and the bread is from a local bakery called St. Bruno Bread Co. Full of flavor and beautifully constructed, these sandwiches are the best in Baton Rouge. Adorable market located in Willow Grove off Perkins in South Baton Rouge, not far from the Mall and Perkins Rowe. A friend posted about the sandwiches, so I made a mental note to stop by when I was in the area. They recommended sandwiches as I had asked, and truly I don't think I would have regretted ordering anything off the menu here. Mulberry Market is definitely more than sandwiches though. To me, they had all the liquor one could need plus a couple bins of charcuterie type meats and cheeses that were tempting. I also noticed toilet paper, which clued me in that it's indeed a convenience store for the people that can walk from their Willow Grove residence (without driving to cross the busy Perkins Road). Pretty smart on their end I'd imagine and helpful to avoid Baton Rouge traffic.
