The mushroom swiss burger was so flavorful and juicy. I don't know what the sauce was that they put on the burger but omg soooo good. We ordered the garlic fries and they had the best garlic flavor and the perfect amount too. The cheese fries I will say had a jalapeno flavor to them. Which doesn't bother me but for my 5 year old the spice was a bit most. This is not a complaint about the flavor this just so you have the full picture that the cheese fries are slightly spicy. The only thing I wish that was different was the fries. They use a fatter fry for the cheese fries and I preferred the thinner fries they used for the garlic fries. 5 Star deliciousness Combo plate is SO. DELICIOUS. They brought it out in a tin covered with sauce... aaaand brought out more sauce. The beautifully seasoned regular hot sauce, the actual hot sauce, and the white sauce. Delicious meat (chicken and gyro meat), falafel, and that orange basmanti rice are delicious. This location as been on my mind since it opened as it reminded me of the famous chicken and rice food stand in NY with the red and white sauce! We came here before a yelp event with some friends to check it out. This location was kind of hard to find as my GPS took me to the apartment behind it! This location is next to the college bookstore behind Beirut Cafe. The location is really tiny but it wasn't as packed when we came in. I opted to try combo mix which you have a choice of chicken, lamb, or falafel. I normally do not order lamb but decided to try it along with chicken. Oh the lamb and chicken were both so flavorful and juicy. None of it was dry. My meal was so fresh and they do not skimp on the rice or meat. I did drown my rice with the white and red sauce. The red sauce wasn't too spicy in my opinion but others may think it is. Both sauces were so fantastic. I really enjoyed my meal as I haven't had "Chicken and Rice with the red and white sauce" since when I visited NY. I am so happy this location opened up. The folks here were so nice. The dining area is tiny so may be best to take your food to go if it's crowded! I had plenty of food left over and was able to take a small container of the sauces to go for my leftovers! Score! I was way beyond excited to try this place out that I didn't even get to take a picture of the meal I ordered. This is a small hole in the wall place, BUT DO not let that stop you from trying the food out. I wanted to try the combo mix, so I ordered the combo platter which you have a choice of lamb, chicken, falafel and I'm sure something else. I ordered lamb and chicken. They were both amazing, and the flavoring was perfect. The rice was not overcooked, and everything was fresh. They give you unlimited amount of the white sauce and hot sauce, I drowned my rice in it...okay, maybe I didn't, but the sauces were a nice added bonus. This place is kinda hard to find as it is practically a whole in the wall but they are currently expanding ! Upon walking in, we saw that they were fairly busy. They had a simple menu, basically pick the type of meat you want in the platter and have it in rice or pita. We got the gyro over rice with pita and another one with fries (free fries/pita with yelp check in!). Our order was freshly made in the back and when it came out oooohhh man it looked so good! They were very generous with the meat and the sauce. They even offer the sauces on the side for you to add if you don't feel like what they've put is enough. The meat is tender and flavorful and there's lots with every bite!! The rice is quite greasy though (probably the only thing I didn't love about this dish) However, this is the closest thing I've had to the Halal guys in NY around DFW, we'll definitely be back! The platter with the fries was interesting (they put the fries on top), next time I'll see if I can get fries instead of the rice and just have the meat/sauce on top of fries only. As someone who grew up with The Halal Guys on 53rd and 6th a 20 minute late night drive away and the awesome Juicy Platters 10 minutes away, this place gets a solid 3rd place in my book. Just like the two aforementioned locations, New York Eats serves your "street" NY Halal food. In addition to that, it also serves burgers and the like. The inside of the restaurant is a little tight, but, I could see and hear that they were doing construction when I came in so I know they are expanding. Situated next to a college campus, I bet it's an awesome place for college students. For the food, I got the chicken platter with pita bread, some spicy sauce, and of course: a variation of the white sauce. Though it may not have been as juicy as I have desired, it definitely did fulfill a longtime craving of something similar to the Halal Guys. When my husband arrived his order was wrong on the receipt and he let the employee know that he had ordered his over fries not rice. The employee told my husband that they don't do that, so my husband pointed out on their menu board that it does say they do that (plus that is what he has ordered numerous times previously). Employee argued that it meant adding fries on top only. Very disappointed that an employee would argue with a customer, especially when what they are arguing about is clearly on the menu and has been previously ordered without issue. Also, they keep the TVs LOUD. First the Matrix was on, then Fast & Furious.. do they need to blast action movies 24/7? Service - 3/5 stars! The employees were friendly. My main complaint was the inconsistency in service. We had 4 people, 2 different orders placed. The first order came out within 10 minutes. After that, a new customer came in who got their food before us (the 2nd order), and they also prepared a to-go order before we got our food. When it did come out, it only had gyro and they said falafel was coming. It took forever to get our entire order out. We weren't sure what to think of the Manhattan Mix Platter that came in an 8" round tin. It had sounded good when we ordered it and it certainly smelled good. They had put our falafel and pita in a separate container to keep it from getting soggy (we live about 45 minutes away). I think it was all the rice. Rice and more rice that kept coming up from the bottom of the container. We had seen big squirt bottles of sauce on the tables there. If you get this to go, put on more sauce. The rice is delicious; but just needs more sauce (which is delicious, too). The marinated meat was also good. The ground or diced gyro meat tends to disappear in the concoction. The chicken was in good sized chunks. The veggie toppings wilt in the heat and were few and far between. It all tasted wonderful, but I would have been much happier with half the rice and more vegetables. Is this the food of the streets of New York? I still don't know for sure. read more

Inexpensive, good sized portions of a few middle-eastern staples, very convenient for takeaway, though not fast. They only have a few tables inside, and it's not really an ambience place, so ideally you call in your order, go pick it up, leave. Perfect for students. I enjoyed my mixed plate (gyro and chicken shawarma). The rice is bright orange/red but doesn't taste like tomato, so I'm not sure what they seasoned it with. It's quite tasty. The "white sauce" is kind of like a tzatziki (sp?). I didn't add extra red sauce because the dribble that was on there was already spicy. My husband liked his felafel as well. Since it's right next to one of my favorite middle eastern places in town (Beirut Rock) I have to say that NYE isn't going to unseat it, but if I want an even cheaper meal (hard, because BR is already cheap!) or takeout this would be a good option. How come every time I order a burger they always put bbq sauce on it? The past two times I've been here I keep getting unnecessary onions and bbq sauce when I specifically say meat, cheese and the regular sauce only. I really wanted to like this place but had a genuinely uncomfortable experience. I ordered a falafel pita wrap and a side of fries. I was instead given a falafel rice platter. When I told this to my server, named Tony, she said "Oh we can't do that on pita". I wish she had mentioned that when I ordered it instead of giving me food I didn't want. Why have an order on the menu that you can't order? She then got mad when I pointed out I ordered fries and said "Oh well I'm going to have to charge you again". Ridiculous.
