Ok. Here's the truth. There are times when I get a craving for a good gyro. I've always gone to Gyros to Go. I live close to Joe Pool Lake and, in the last couple of years, a couple of Gyro places have opened up that are a lot more convenient for me than Gyros to Go. I've tried them both. Tonight, I got Gyros from my original 'go to' place just to confirm what I believe is true. The gyro places closer to me are just not as good. The bread is not as good. The tzatziki sauce is not as good. The fries are not as good and, most of all, there is not as much meat in the wraps. Because of these reasons, I'll drive an extra 10-15 minutes to get my Gyro wraps at Gyros to Go. Thank you to the guys at G2G. Keep on doing it right! read more

A Greek salad. A little side salad. Pickled veggies. Tomato and cucumber slices. Lettuce and carrots and onions. You know how it is. And the freshness of the produce is pretty important. A couple times we've ordered from Gyros to Go and the produce has been colorless, limp, and watery. I'm not expecting picture perfect, ultra-radiant veggies or anything, just a little color and crunch! Besides the bland produce and the to-go orders being a little messily and loosely packed in styrofoam containers, we've enjoyed the food and prices here. This place was recommended by a coworker. A small venue at a small strip mall. 1st phone call wasn't answered, thought it was closed, as I let it ring for a long time until it stopped by itself. Glad I did! Their plates come with 2 sides IN ADDITION to rice without extra charge, so this is a change from old menu pictures. We got the hummus with gyro, gyro platter, chicken shawerma platter, and gyro wrap. The portions are generous! We had leftovers with 7 of us! Everything was delicious! The fries was tasty, with subtle spicy "kick". The meat was soft. The rice was tasty. The tzatziki sauce was so good. Haven't been here in a while and miss the food especially the friendly service. Quality entree's, cook to order with fresh ingredients. We always get gyro meats, falafel and hummus but the favorite is the whole rotisserie chicken. Make sure you call to order, it takes an hour or more. We always pick up for home. It's definitely a hidden gem the south side of Arlington. I always forget to check in when I'm here... thanks to owner for staying open during these hard times. But you will be full the rest of the day. We went at lunch not very busy at that time on Saturday. The place is small few tables to sit at. I think most people get the food to go. It is in the name... hahaha. They have a full menu of Mediterranean food not just gyros. The service was fine the cashier lady was not very friendly just took order did not seem to care that we came in. But she did say thank you when we left. I'm writing this review as a take-out customer because of Covid-19. In spite of it's name, there are some tables and chairs for dining in. "Gyros To Go" has many good reviews on Yelp. I wanted to know if it lives up to its reputation? I had a coupon for a platter. Since the cuisine is Mediterranean, I wanted some lamb. But, they didn't have any lamb that day. So, I settled for Chicken Shawarma. My wife had a Shish Tawook platter. For the sides, we both had hummus and sautéed vegetables. They come with rice and pita bread. The Shish Tawook and Chicken Shawarma were excellent. Both flavorful and tender. It was the tastiest I've had in decades. Surprisingly, the sides were also delicious. The rice, the sautéed vegetables, the hummus tasted wonderful. The pita bread was fresh. It wasn't thick like many Mediterranean restaurants. My only letdown was the baba ganoush and the baklava. But those are not the main dishes. They are opening another store on Park Springs, near Green Oaks. It's across a Neighborhood Walmart. On the same side as CVS. That will be a short walk for me.
