So if you want just a nice slice of pizza that tastes good, with a thin crust or a decent meatball sub then y'all please head on over to New York pizza it's not chain pizza places like dominoes and definitely not Pizza Hut, and in my opinion it tastes 10000000000000000% better than any of the chain pizza places! The inside is clean and simple plenty of places to sit if you're a group of 10 or just 2 people they got you covered! The service was quick and the food hot and tasty, the counter girl was not very forthcoming she was not rude at all it just seemed like she did not want to be there! Located on the corner of Polk and Market there is easy access to the private parking. The building is an old national pizza chain location. The menu is large for a pizza place. There are pizzas, salads, sandwiches, wings and pasta. There is no bar, but there is bottled beer. I like the antipasto salad. It's huge and delicious. The pizza is even better. The dough is chewy, and absolutely fantastic. I love the sauce, the cheese and all the toppings. This pizza really is my favorite. And I have eaten a TON of different pizzas. Let me start by saying my order was a "to go" order. I ordered stuffed shells, shrimp Alfredo pasta,(pasta plates come with 2 breadsticks each), 1 order of breadsticks (4 per order) with marinara and a slice of dill pickle pizza (because I love pickles & curiosity got the best of me) The stuffed shells were very good! They didn't skimp on the cheese, well seasoned & Delicious! The breadsticks & marinara were fresh & good! The pickle pizza was good believe it or not. The crust was NY style, thin, foldable with a slight crisp to the crust. The pickle was not overwhelming, it was pretty mild actually! My one complaint is ordering "to go" the slice of pickle pizza was placed on a paper plate then put in a bag uncovered with cups of sauce and breadsticks, my shells pan broke and leaked. Because of the sloppy packing I had to be extra careful bringing my order into my hotel & it took a couple of trips (not usually a huge deal but it was absolutely freezing today) I'd definitely order again but I'd ask for things to be packaged better. read more

I've never had a good experience here, but some reason my girlfriend keeps giving them another try. This latest time we ordered chicken fingers for our toddler and it was almost entirely inedible. Overcooked and dry as hell. We ordered a salad that had more onions than anything else, and a couple slices of bland pizza. We ended up throwing most of our meal out. Not to mention when we picked up our food the employees were either goofing off, cursing at each other or complaining about orders that they had messed up on and had to redo, very unprofessional. Direct ties to Italy and all their sauces are made fresh daily from their grandmother's recipes. This family run business is a gem. Last minute run with a group of 12 and was right on time before the lunch rush. Ordered cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and sausage pizza. They were good but not great. And you can also ask for no carbs pizza if you are trying to get your figure right. Chicken wings was really plain and bland. I didn't get what was going on on the chicken wings but they need to do something with it. Service was great though. I love pizza. I moved to MS from Chicago, three years ago now. And 1) I already have a loyalty aversion to NY style. 2) This is mediocre pizza to begin with. Which sucks since I do like helping out local businesses. And this is meh. Nothing offensive to hate about it or rag on. The place was clean when I picked it up, the pizza was made competently. Just the flavor was unimpressive. You can take canned sauces/pastes and add your own seasoning to it to make it better. I sadly usually choose Pizza Hut over this when I want pizza. AT least with Pizza Hut, you know there is nothing "authentic" about it. Though, when I go west, to Gulfport, to visit my friends, they have a NY style joint there and that pizza (while still gross NY style), is better even the atmosphere is better. I feel like proper NY style has to be in a greasy looking stainless steel clad place with the ovens about 2 feet from the counter. This looks like they occupied a sit-down pizza hut and painted it white. As I said, this is as middle of the road you can get. They know what a pizza is, they can cook said pizza, and they can deliver it competently. It feels like the pizza you'd cook in a culinary class where you'd get marked points off if you tried to add your own 'flair". Also, not priced offensively either. So, even if you do try it, you're not out any significant money. Yes there is a "ma and pa" premium compared to the assembly-line Pizza Hut, but it's not that bad. I can see how locals like this place, but I'm a well traveled man, and I've had proper NY style in NYC, also had the original pizza in Naples. I know me some pizza. read more

My husband and I live in Alabama but will be moving to Pascagoula soon. We have dined in this restaurant several times while visiting. They make EXCELLENT calzones!
